What the world eats

I would like to think we eat like Italy or Mexico, in reality tis more like USA or UK

Canada I think though sadly with less fish. The British one had an incredible amount of processed food and chooclate. We have some but for the most part its fresh fruit, veg and meat though we I do buy quite a few jars of sauces and the odd fish finger Grin

Coffeeformeplease · 27/04/2013 22:30

Germany Smile

almostanotherday · 27/04/2013 22:30

Britain

soontobeslendergirl · 27/04/2013 22:31

I was more fascinated by the way each family laid out the stuff - Germany for instance completely following the stereotype

ThePskettiIncident · 27/04/2013 22:32

It's really interesting. I'm staggered by how few fruit and veg are on most displays.

I'm veggie anyway, so none of them really look like mine.

Mine would prob be 50% fruit/veg, 25% carbs, 15% crappy crisps and processed foods, 10% booze and fruit juice.

Coffeeformeplease · 27/04/2013 22:33

which stereotype?

AvrilPoisson · 27/04/2013 22:34

I too was astonished by the coke for the Mexicans!

All that lovely fresh fruit and veg, and then bottles and bottles of syrupy stuff...

Yonilovesboni · 27/04/2013 22:35

Mixture Britain, Italy and France Grin

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 27/04/2013 22:36

Canada probably.

soontobeslendergirl · 27/04/2013 22:36

The "everything perfectly organised" stereotype. It looks like they had a ruler to get everything straight and lined up. I'm not slating them, I could do with a bit of that OCD :)

Ruprekt · 27/04/2013 22:39

Australia without fizzy drinks and sweets.

Coffeeformeplease · 27/04/2013 22:40

I see. I didn't notice but now you've said it Smile

Beehatch · 27/04/2013 22:41

Goodness those last few pictures were stark - all carbs and so little protein. The Chad family really brings home the wanton wastefullness of the Western world.

Didn't feel we were really like many of the pictures, maybe France or Canada, but without the meat - many more pulses.

The meat in the Aussie one was just boggling!

Coffeeformeplease · 27/04/2013 22:42

you should see our house - I'm sure I have a genetic defect concerning tidyness ...

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 27/04/2013 22:43

somewhere between canada germany and france.

soontobeslendergirl · 27/04/2013 22:43

Hmm - maybe it's just that all the things they have bought lend themselves to being organised rather than the more random shopping of the other countries... bit shocked about the amount of meat the Aussies have!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/04/2013 22:43

Mexicans drink an amazing amount of soft drinks. Coca Cola Mexico makes a sweeter version for that market alone ! They have a lovely fizzy apple drink called Sidral as well.

Coffeeformeplease · 27/04/2013 22:45

the Aussies chuck it all on the Barbie

BatmanLovesVodkaAndCherryade · 27/04/2013 22:46

That was the first thing I noticed about Germany too!

And how much meat in Australia? Shock

TwuntingCrow · 27/04/2013 22:47

Most like Germany here ..

hiddenhome · 27/04/2013 22:47

Probably Germany Smile

thenightsky · 27/04/2013 22:48

That is an amazing set of pictures. I reckon we are mostly France and Poland with a bit of Italy.

CoolStoryBro · 27/04/2013 22:49

Canada, I guess.

I find the Chad photo quite sad.

soontobeslendergirl · 27/04/2013 22:51

Do you think these photos are from some time ago? In the British one, the house/clothes/hair look like a bit of a throwback.

marriedinwhiteagain · 27/04/2013 22:51

Mixture of Canada and France with not too many soft drinks but plenty of wine and beer. I don't believe the Britain picture was taken after 2000 and feel a little out of step with that.

Very very glad we do not share the Chad diet. Made me very sad.
