deegward well done for staying around target. it must be such a great feeling. would love to get there. maybe one day (sighhhhh)

Crunchie · 28/01/2004 16:00

Woo Hoo I found some low sinned veggie curries (in cans) Asda Smart Price Vegetable Curry is just 1.5 sins a can, and even better Asda Chick Pea Dhal is FREE I don't have to give up one of my faves But I can't have it with Bombay Potatoes too (8 sins )

I am still dropping in here, I have just had a really crap 2 weeks, I changed classes to a new consultant, was good for 2 days then MIL pissed me off BIG TIME and I am such a comfort eater it led to bread and buns Then I was away on a business trip for 2 days - only food on offer was picky sandwiches, crisps, chocolate and wine. Then once I had planned to go back to a later class DD1 got chicken pox I felt life was saying something. Also BIL was over from Austrailia which meant chinese Takeaways, champagne etc So I went to class on Monday and had put on 6lbs in 2 weeks I did have all that crap and it was the wrong time of teh month and I was wearing the wrong skirt So I reckon about 3lbs was not actual weight gain.

Next week I am in Centre parcs on holiday so I am planning an exercise rich week ? and I will only take good food with me (like hell!) Oh well in 2 weeks at weigh in again if I have lost 1lb, I'll be happy

Just made my first ever meal with quorn ! Was having a green day and so we had giant jacket potatoes with quorn chilli con carne. It was absolutely delicious. half way through i asked dh if it was ok and he said "ummmm very nice". Which is when i told him it wasn't meat ! If i'd have told him before he wouldn't have eaten it, or he would have said it tasted funny.

Am very happy as i now see new vistas opening up to me - large plates of spag bol, loads of chilli con carne and rice, burgers and sin free chips...ohhh yummmm yummmm

Kayleigh · 29/01/2004 13:38

Am off out for a curry tonight and having a green day.
In the old food directory there used to be a list of approx sin values for eating out places (i think) but there isn't in the new one.
Can anyone tell me what my best choices are ?
I am assuming pilau rice or plain boiled and a vegetable curry - but which is the lowest syn curry sauce ?
Thanks

Furball · 29/01/2004 15:06

I would go with the old directory and hope that it's not changed too much. Saying that my dish (from Supermarket) went up 12 syns!!. If it's only a one off, you'll probably be OK.

Kayleigh · 29/01/2004 16:27

I chucked my old directory, so i am up shit creek ! I'll try and stick with rice and a veg curry in a dryish sauce. I'd assume a dry sauce would be less syns than say a creamy one. Who knows ?! The hardest thing will be keeping away from the naan bread.

deegward · 29/01/2004 18:30

kayleigh, I would say a tomato based sauce, with spinach say, instead of a korma would be great. Just remember some of the rice is coated in oil. Sorry, but enjoy your meal and remember always make tomorrow a no syns day to make up for today!!

Kayleigh · 30/01/2004 10:57

I was very virtuous in my menu choices. Had bolied rice and a vegetable bhuana (sp?) which had a dry sauce and not creamy at all.
But polished off three large puppadoms with mango chutney plus 3 glasses of wine. And half a naan bread
Ah well...todays another day.

Kayleigh · 08/02/2004 16:43
