1 pound a week is always achievable. You need to undereat by 3,500 calories a week to lose 1lb (and overeat by the same to gain 1lb). It makes no difference what diet you are on. A typical woman uses 2,000 calories a day to live and function. Therefore, if you eat no more than 1,500 a day, you 'save' 500 calories a day, thus losing a pound in a week. Add exercise into the equation, and more can be lost. I regularly lose 1-2 lbs a week on my diet (not SW). Sorry to butt into this thread, just wanted to give some support.

Crunchie · 12/01/2004 10:22

Kayleigh · 13/01/2004 11:06

I am so happy !!!! I lost 4lbs. Yes FOUR pounds.

I know I've stuck to the plan but I have eaten loads, so I wasn't too sure. I think while I was in my "piggging out" phase I wasn't eating that much - just all the wrong stuff. I'd forgotton how much you can eat on s/w and still lose.
Good grief, I sound like a bloody advertisemnet

lilibet · 13/01/2004 13:04

Oh Kayleigh, that is fantastic. Well done, you must be so plesed.
Everyone is doing so well, I will really try and not let you down on Saturday.

lilibet · 13/01/2004 13:35

i have jsut spent ages trawling thru the other thread looking for Crunchies quiche, so I am copying and psting it here for future reference.
To all who have never tried it, it's lovely and free on green.

SW quiche, put a pack of Bathcelors pasta and sauce (brocolli and cheese is best)into a big bowl, add water (425ml), add 8oz tub cottage cheese, or half huge tub. Add 4 eggs and mix. By this stage it will look like vomit! Please don't worry. Get a quiche dish, spray with frylight, pour in yukky mixture, add a few veggies (I throw in frozen sweetcorn and peas, and sliced tomotos to look nice) and black pepper. Put in oven at aorund gas 5 or 190 for about 1/2 hour (ish, i just check until set and golden). This again makes great packed lunches with salad, one big quiche does 2 or three days.

Crunchie · 13/01/2004 13:46

Ooh I am honoured, my quiche is a fave!!

How is everyone getting on with the changes to all the sin values, particularly of the cans and convienience foods? This was the big story of last night's class!!

How about we do a list of fav convienience foods here, and let everyone know where sins have changed. I mean Macoroni cheese is now sinned, even the Batchelors pasta and sauce one is 2 sins a pack!! Also Asda curry pot currys, all sinned!!! Has anyone found a canned curry that we can eat??

Also has anyone gone online yet??

There is a new password every week, so you hae to keep logging on, what a faff!

fairydust · 13/01/2004 14:14

Kayleigh - YOU GO GIRL WELL DONE

OP posts:
Kayleigh · 13/01/2004 15:03

Thanks fairydust.

Crunchie I have tried the sins on-line but am not getting asked for a password. Am i in the right place www.slimming-world.co.uk/syns/

It is slow though. Found it painfully slow at the weekend from home although it's a bit faster today from work.

I just bought the new food directory and free foods list as so much has changed. I am devastated about Heinz macaroni cheese. Anyone want 4 tins ?!!!

lilibet · 13/01/2004 16:34

Crunchie, that is a great idea, especially for people like me who don't go to class. A girl at work goes and has offered me her password tho'. Keep thinking about telling her of this thread then realise all the other stuff I have posted and decide its not a good idea!!

deegward · 13/01/2004 17:26

Well done all. feel bad as have put on 2lb over christmas, ans this week when I was meant to be sticking to the plan, have had profiteroles (well I ask you!) and wine, things I haven't had in 6 months!!!!

Mad at sw for changing value of macaroni cheese, as used this as a great free meal, but heh, weigh in tomorrow, even if I have lost 1lb I will be happy. Well done to all, I have also managed to lose the new cookbook we got last week!

Kayleigh · 13/01/2004 19:22

Was just flicking through the new food directory and the Stagg Vegetable chilli (canned) that used to be free on green days is 3 syns per can.
Bah.
It's going to be a real pain to check everything i thought i knew syn values of.

fairydust · 13/01/2004 22:13

ifound today that john west stewin steak in now 6SYNS

OP posts:
Tortington · 13/01/2004 23:39

may i join you? ..yes just joined today and am a bit confused to say the least it seams trez complicated.

i understand the red day and the green day and i understand the free food and i even understand the syns - i dont get the healthy option and when to use it?

hopefully by next week i will understand.

however eating all day seems too good to be true - i dont get it!

but the amount of weight lost by some members of the group was outstanding - some over 3 stone.

i hope i keep at it!

CountessDracula · 13/01/2004 23:48

Can you do this online?

I did Atkins and lost quite a bit but it made my hair fall out! This sounds much healthier.

CountessDracula · 13/01/2004 23:48

but I don't have time to go to any meetings as work long hours.
