custardo

everyday you choose to either have a red or a green day.

you then have the option to choose two A boxes -
(milk n cheese)

you then choose two B boxes from the selection (they differ slightly depending wether your on a green or red day)

Custy,I can send you info if you would like, I can send you a book and some mags for a while if kayleigh doesn't mind . It is better than weightwatchers as the free food is better, pasta and rice and potatoes on green days. Should I send them? not sure if I still have your address but you could e mail it to me. Just rememeber that the mags are kayleigh's!

fairydust · 14/01/2004 00:22

it may sound alot to join but believe me it's a good eating plan (could you not get to a class in your lunch break?)

I lost 5lb this week - and i've eaten out twice and had alcohol.

Countess, I do a lunch time class in the city. It's a weigh and go class so there is no actual "talk" after the weigh in although the class leader is there for help if you need it.
There may be one of these where you live. On the website you can check out classes near you - you put your postcode in an email and they send you the 10 nearest classes.

lilibet, of course you can pass my magazines on. I have more if anyone wants a couple, I have most issues from last two years.

custardo, well done on joining. i promise it will make sense very soon. Any help just ask.

Tortington · 15/01/2004 00:10

thanks for the offer but best not send me anything - our house is a black hole.

i think i understand a bit better today - i am wondering if any one can help today was a red day for me and i had chicken and pasta with grated cheese.

i get the chicken free - the pasta is a b the cheese is an a ?

have eaten honeydew melon all day - this is free?

and had a white toast no butter topped with tomatoes and onion for supper

the white bread being a syn - thick bread - thats 5 syns?

we had uncle bens sauce sweet and sour - found a tinned sweet and cour in the book and a take away - but no jar - its not on the syn counter on the website - so i took the canned value x 2 jars divided by 5 people and ended up with 9 syns

is any of this remotley right?

lilibet · 15/01/2004 09:18

.... creeps in and whispers

' I have been eating chocolate and salted peanuts and drinking Baileys'

creeps out again and hopes that no one notices

Pacific · 15/01/2004 09:32

Oh dear. I had weigh in last night and it was my first week, and I put on 1lb. I have no excuses. I haven't been sticking to the plan but it is so cold here (Edinburgh) just now that I cannot face being hungry. Hmmm, I suppose I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Please somebody give me a kick up the pants?

Momof2 · 15/01/2004 09:51

Would anyone mind if I joined? I have been going since October last year, but stopped just prior to christmas and have managed to put on 7lbs since. Can't get to a class at the mo as the times don't suit but have an excellant set of goods weighing scales at work that I plan to use every Tuesday morning! (when it is quiet and there is no one in goods-in!)

Kayleigh · 15/01/2004 09:55

custardo - in answer to your questions:-

"i get the chicken free - the pasta is a b the cheese is an a ?" the answer is yes as long as you weighed your pasta and it was wholemeal. For pasta to be a b option it has to me wholemeal. But on a green day you can eat most kinds of dried pasta(fresh pasta has sins).
Your cheese can be one of your a) options. You are allowed up to 2 each day, again this would have to be weighed

"have eaten honeydew melon all day - this is free? " yes, completely free - eat as much as you like

"and had a white toast no butter topped with tomatoes and onion for supper - the white bread being a syn - thick bread - thats 5 syns?"
Yes, completely right

"we had uncle bens sauce sweet and sour - found a tinned sweet and cour in the book and a take away - but no jar - its not on the syn counter on the website - so i took the canned value x 2 jars divided by 5 people and ended up with 9 syns"
this estimate is probably a bit on the high side from my use of sauces in general - more likely to be around 5 to 6 sins per portion. If you want an exact count you can ring the syn hotline between (i think) 9 and 5 on 09068 518518. You need the item in front of you as they will ask for all sorts of info.

Sounds like you have got it sorted. 10 out of 10

Kayleigh · 15/01/2004 10:00

Momof2, come on in. You are very welcome.

lilibet, was that you creeping about. Is that chocolate round your mouth ? And what's that i can smell on your breath...? You bad, bad girl.

Pacific, put this week behind you and start again.
There is no need to go hungry with so much free food. You could make yourself a big pan of vegetable soup (free) and eat that all day. If you make it really thick it'll be yummy.
I won't kick you it'll hurt !

Pacific · 15/01/2004 10:16

Thank you, Kayleigh.

fairydust · 15/01/2004 17:55

at least your still here Pacific hope next week is better for you.

lil - u bad girl.

i was realy good 2day went out for lunch with dd and they didn't have anythng healthly for me si i just had an apple so felt so good for doing it.

fairydust, nice halo

I've been good today too. Have only had cereal for breakfast, a bit of fruit and some ham & salad for lunch as going out for dinner and want to save my sins for that. Have chosen to go to a Harvester as I know I can eat loads of salad from the salad bar and have a steak and jacket for main meal. Hope I've got enough syns for a pud !!!

fairydust · 15/01/2004 20:34

at least your planning in advance less likely to go wrong

CountessDracula · 15/01/2004 23:33

Thanks Fairydust and Kayleigh, I don't work in the city but from home or on client sites which are all over the place incl the city, so I can't really commit to anything unless it's at a weekend, even then I go away at weekends a lot so isn't really poss.

May look into the postal thing. Shame they don't do an online one like WW

Tortington · 16/01/2004 00:33

oh tytytytytytytytytytytyty kayleigh your so kind for answering my questions so thoroughly

Furball · 16/01/2004 08:37

Crunchie - The tinned curry I used to use was the Chesswood vegetable korma that is now 8 sins. But the Chesswood ORGANIC vegetable curry is only 2 sins, so not that bad. Ready made, I'm plumping for Sainsburys Be good to yourself veg curry with rice (I'll probably add more rice of my own!) and again thats 2 sins. None of these have been tasted yet, so might be a different story next week.

willow2 · 16/01/2004 14:44

CD - there used to be a class on a tuesday or wednesday evening in the church in Vernon road - so very near you. I lost almost 3 stone ... but have put 1 back on so far. Sadly, don't think the class exists anymore - but we could do our own version if you fancy it as I need some motivation to get the weight shifting again and SW has been the easiest way i've found so far. (Did Atkins too for two weeks - felt like death but lost 8 or 9 lbs). What do you reckon? We could have our meetings in Rosa's over a coffee and a whopping big cake!

Kayleigh · 16/01/2004 17:20

custardo, you are very welcome.

my meal out was fine. i think you're right about the planning ahead bit, it really did help. I stuck to the salad bar for starters and put fat free vinagrette over it. Then had steak with grilled toms and a jacket pot plus more salad.
Did find room for an ice cream with chocolate sauce though! Have checked the eating out section and reckon it was around 18 sins. So not the end of the world. And it was delicious

CountessDracula · 17/01/2004 13:04

YES Willow2, that would be fantastic! (are we allowed the cake on this diet?!)

Can you bring some details along on Thursday? Or shall I send off for this pack thingy? I really would so love to lose a couple of stone and know I can do it, but would be great to have someone to keep me company and hassle me when I'm scoffing whole boxed of maltesers in one sitting....

Lisa78 · 17/01/2004 13:22

Saw a great fridge magnet yesterday...

"I am on the gin and tonic diet. So far I have lost two days"

Kayleigh · 17/01/2004 18:46

LOL Lisa78

Tortington · 17/01/2004 23:46

lmao lisa!
today i ate and ate. hubby who isnt going to classes - is on the diet too and lost 5lbs ..b*stard!
hubby cooked the curry which is in the 50 great recipies book i got given when i joined last week - just this minute finished it - apart from being the hottest curry i ever tasted - i swear am a full as a dull thing on full day - and it was delish. that on top of bacon and poached egg at tea time and shreddies for breaky. hubby keeps saying " this isnt right you know, your not supposed to eat this much"

feckin love this diet!

Lisa78 · 17/01/2004 23:48

If he says anything like that to you again, threaten to put his b***ks on your toast!

willow2 · 18/01/2004 16:45

CD - will bring along what I can find (don't think I've thrown stuff out) but might be worth you sending off as well. For starters my stuff might be a bit out of date, but , more importantly, it takes a little while to get your head around so you need to have literature to refer to.

And yes, we are allowed cake - in moderation.
