Just finished making some tagliatelle. I've been inspired by the thread.

mrspink27 · 17/03/2012 22:11

Hmm, I have a hand powered pasta machine and I love, love, love it... just dont think an attachment for KA would be worth it...

ariadneoliver · 17/03/2012 22:26

I don't have the attachment either, it's just that when I only hand the hand machine and had to knead by hand I rarely bothered to make pasta and somehow I never got round to it again when I got the KA. It's so much nicer I regret my past slackness now.

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2012 22:30

We have, and use, a hand pasta machine but I think DH will be getting the KA attachment for Fathers' Day as long as I get something decent tomorrow

Jins · 19/03/2012 09:24

The pastry was great. Much better than anything I've ever made by hand. It even cooked crisply so no soggy bottom for me :)

Well, despite pleading with John Lewis I never got my mixer Sad. But, they did say they thought they would have another promotion soon so I will just need to keep an eye out for it and buy it as soon as I see it Grin. In the meantime I will just have to keep reading about gorgeous pastry, cakes and pasta (although the pasta attachment will need to come later.

Ok, today in my KA I made chocolate cream cheese marbled brownies. They are from an American cookery book, so I had a bit of drama finding out exactly what on earth a stick of butter is meant to be. But find out I did, and it was all worth it. DD (age 5) helped, and tasty brownies were the result. Its taking all our self control for DH and I not to eat our way through the whole lot of them this evening.

We need an app or something to "drop" all our tried & tested recipes into. Any ideas? I wonder if you can "pin" individual posts onto Pinterest?

Chopstheduck · 20/03/2012 07:23

A yahoo group would work

Chopstheduck · 20/03/2012 07:23

Could upload pics then too

OfflineFor30Years · 20/03/2012 08:51

I picked up this shredder and slicer attachment for 50 dollars in the States a couple of weeks ago. I haven't used it yet but thought it would stave off my lust for a Magimix food processor for a little longer.

Does anyone else have it?

Jins · 21/03/2012 09:54

I don't have it but it's on my list to buy. Let us know how it performs when you use it.

I spotted a KA on the Hairy Bikers recently.

Ooh yes a yahoo recipe swapping group would be brilliant as my KA could work a bit harder!

Chopstheduck · 22/03/2012 10:10

Well, i've made one! here

It's set up so anyone can join and post, so no need to send out individual invites or anything. I guess if we have any problems, could always change that at a later date. Will have to dig up some recipes to post later, but now need to wrap the DTs birthday presents for tomorrow.

Kellamity · 22/03/2012 10:37

I've joined!! Smile

ariadneoliver · 22/03/2012 11:00

I'm having a problem getting yahoo to sign me in. When I have a moment I'll sort out the verification. Thanks for setting up the group.

Chopstheduck · 22/03/2012 12:20

I decided will upload recipes as I make them, so just posted the naan recipe I usually make since we had that last night Smile

Will try to upload pics later, have some leftover dough I'm going to cook for my lunch!

mrspink27 · 22/03/2012 12:35

Have joined to!

Jins · 22/03/2012 12:46

OP posts:
Chopstheduck · 22/03/2012 12:56

wohoo, looking forward to hearing some recipes! I've got pics up now of the naan bread.

Chopstheduck · 22/03/2012 14:14

Just posted a rose cupcake recipe for anotehr thread, so C+P that to the yahoo group too Smile

redglow · 22/03/2012 17:19

Would anyone be kind enough to tell me how to make pastry in a ka what attachment do you use?

Al0uise · 22/03/2012 17:26

I use the dough hook. It works really well, not over processed like magi mix pastry tends to be.

Jins · 22/03/2012 17:34

I used the dough hook for the Paul Hollywood Cornish pasty pastry but the flat beater for the shortcrust I've just made.

I 'rubbed' the fat into the flour with the flat beater. It took about two minutes then added water gradually. I was expecting to have to change to the dough hook but it came together perfectly

OP posts:
redglow · 22/03/2012 18:47

Thanks jins will try again used the dough hook last time and it wasn't very good.
