No actual quiche Olivia but I'm sure we could all club together and rustle you one up... Nothing is too much trouble for a kitchenaid!

MrsCobbit · 15/03/2012 20:50

Classic owner here - still polish it every day!!!! Bought it for £150 on Amazon a couple of years ago. Anybody seen a good price on the glass bowl and spatter guard?

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 20:51

Loving the rivalry that is developing between us and the Wood Pussies! I feel we need a more catchy name and slogan though.....and a lot of their machines have names....is this below us and our superior machines or should we be getting in on the act?

Which Hummingbird book would you recommend? It seems like an investment when you own a KA Wink

Hairytoes · 15/03/2012 20:56

Well I am going to be very predictable and boring and call mine Kitty.

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 20:59

I haven't got any hummingbird books, have read some very mixed reviews on here, although a home economics teacher friend raves about them.

I am a Nigella and Mary Berry devotee, hopefully adding Dan Lepard to the list soon.

I also made a couple of Eric Lanard's recipes a few weeks back and they were great (though may start boycotting him due to his KMix ownership) I do however lust after attending one of his baking classes.

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:00

*Eric Lanlard sorry, damn autocorrect!

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:01

Hairy you haven't even met her yet....it may turn out to be a him....

Hairytoes · 15/03/2012 21:02

I can't justify buying MORE cookery books, please tell me I don't need to!
I would really like a recipe for some melt in your mouth shortcrust pastry, any good ones?

Hairytoes · 15/03/2012 21:04

Nope, I already know it is a she!
Do I need to even list the reasons why??!!

Kellamity · 15/03/2012 21:04

Oooooh liking the look of the Dan Lepard book!

stealthsquiggle · 15/03/2012 21:05

Hummingbird books are good in parts... some of their recipes (muffins in particular) I find way too sweet, but cupcake and frosting recipes are a staple now, as is the brownie one.

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:06

I'm thinking Hollywood for mine....although could be a bit ostentatious for
my quietly classy cream machine, it is in homage to the great Paul Hollywood, but I keep getting a mental picture of the character "Hollywood" in the film Mannequin..anyone remember that? My favourite filmwhen I was younger :) Maybe if I owned a pink or purple one...back to the drawing board.

Kellamity · 15/03/2012 21:07

Mine is a boy - Kev Wink

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:12

I need some good shortcrust pastry in my life.

Going to start baking with my DD next week and jam tarts is first on our list! She is only 19 months so I'm thinking things she can do with her hands that won't be too messy, any suggestions gratefully received.

Hairytoes · 15/03/2012 21:13

I had a boyfriend called Kev, lets just say I won't be calling mine that :o

Kellamity · 15/03/2012 21:14

I did think about Kelvin!

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:14

I think we should also start a campaign to MNHQ for a cake smiley, us Kitchenaiders can take over the world!

mrspink27 · 15/03/2012 21:15

Can I join to please? I have a red artisan and am in need of some attachments.

Having read through the thread I think I need
-a flexibeater
-the pasta maker
-the KA book
What else would you all suggest.

I heart my KA!

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:18

Welcome MrsPink firstly your artisan needs a name!

Hairytoes · 15/03/2012 21:41

How about a slicer/shredder Mrs P

Hairytoes · 15/03/2012 21:42

I am up to Christmas now with all my add ons.
How much am I going to weigh by then too :o

Likeaheadlesschicken · 15/03/2012 21:50

Thank god you are back Hairy I thought I heard the death bell ringing in the background.

Chopstheduck · 15/03/2012 21:54

Noooo for slice/shredder you need a magimix.

RE Hummigbird, I have the cake days book agree some of the cakes are very sweet, need small portions, but I still love it! not tried the brownies yet.

Jins · 15/03/2012 22:14

Tiger Bread
