Here it is.

recipes, tips all welcome

Oops. I may have added the KitchenAid food processor as well. Both in cream Grin

I have requested that contributions be available for those who wish to do that - don't know how John Lewis will do that though.

Now, what attachments do I need for this little beauty? My mum had a delightful flowery cover for hers before she lost it in a house move (the cover, not the mixer!)

MaureenMLove · 15/03/2012 16:22

This has to be the worst quiche ever! I haven't got one. I want one. I can't have one. I am very Envy of all of you. Pah! Now I'm grumpy! Grin

MaureenMLove · 15/03/2012 16:23

And just to add insult to injury, I've bloody posted on it and it's going to appear in my threads I'm on to remind me I haven't got one!

Damn you all! WinkGrin

stealthsquiggle · 15/03/2012 16:24

Damn - forgot to add my KA credentials. I have the K50 - the smallest / cheapest of the commercial models. No pretty colours, but a stronger motor and an overload switch so I can't kill it by getting it to knead colour into sugarpaste.

Kellamity · 15/03/2012 16:24

Oooh hello all, fellow Kitchen Aid owner! Love love love mine! Have just had to request a new whisk though as a couple of the metal bits have popped out, makes a real racquet. Anyway they couldn't have been nicer! Smile

So what are we making?

mrspnut · 15/03/2012 16:24

I need to join this quiche, I have a very ancient Kenwood Chef that was passed down to me (I think it's older than I am). It has two bowls and two liquidiser attachments, a whisk and two k beaters - I'm not sure you can get any other attachments for it now.

I've just whizzed together some triple chocolate muffins in it for the bake sale at DD2's school tomorrow.

stealthsquiggle · 15/03/2012 16:26

Mo - you don't want one, you neeeed one.

Could you save all your birthday and Christmas money for one Grin?

Kellamity · 15/03/2012 16:27

Owners - I know there's more than one of you out there!!!

KitchenAid credentials - I have this beauty!

I also have the mincer but I must admit I don't use it much don't tell DHBlush

I am thinking of getting the pasta attachment at some point. Would you recommend?

FriskyMare · 15/03/2012 16:27

I'm in too (have posted on the other thread). I don't use mine that often - its just for looking pretty:o

Jins · 15/03/2012 16:30

I've got a lowly classic like this but seeing as it was on offer £250 and the artisan was £150 more at the time I didn't care.

Kellamity · 15/03/2012 16:33

Nothing wrong with a classic Jins tis timeless and still a thing of beauty Wink

Whenisitmysleepytime · 15/03/2012 16:40

Is this for real? here for under £200
I REALLY want one but still that I bought a magimix for its price.

For under £200 I could persuade myself.

sleepytime - unless you are in the US, that is no good to you - to import it and get it to work you would have to change the motor Sad

MaureenMLove · 15/03/2012 16:55

I'm putting a plee together as we speak! I have good grounds for a Kitchenaid, as DH has an expensive hobby, which exceeds spending that amount of money on one thing, so I think it's only fair! Grin

stealthsquiggle · 15/03/2012 16:56

£299

Jins · 15/03/2012 16:57

My DH decided after seeing it in use that I should have had one years ago.

To be fair a stand mixer is an essential piece of kitchen equipment. How many of our mothers have/had one?

OP posts:
Jins · 15/03/2012 16:57

That's a classic like mine stealth and not a bad price at the moment. Mine was £249 on offer

OP posts:
Al0uise · 15/03/2012 16:59

I'm joining please. Mine is several years old now and i still love it a lot.

Chopstheduck · 15/03/2012 17:11

ooh can I join!

I've had mine over a year now. I have the pasta attachement, the grinder, and the sausage stuffer. Only got the classic mixer, but find it fine for everything I need to do. I mostly make bread, pasta, and lots of cupcakes with mine!

gregssausageroll · 15/03/2012 17:11

Just posted on the other threat but qvc have a good deal on at the moment. Can't link cos of phone but it comes with lots of attachments and 3 interest free payments. I would love one but don't know what I would genuinely make !

stealthsquiggle · 15/03/2012 17:12

My mother had (maybe has?) a Kenwood.

Chopstheduck - pasta maker - tell me more.... it has been on my & DH's wish list for ages. Do you have the extruding one or the roller one?

Chopstheduck · 15/03/2012 17:13

It's annoying how much cheaper they are in the US. I actually bought my grinder and sausage stuffer, and the shield whilst over there last month. More than 1/3 less that UK prices.

I've used the grinder to grind venison. It didnt exactly come out looking like shop mince - wasn't thin sausagey shaped - more tiny pieces of mashed up meat, but when it cooked up it was lovely.

Chopstheduck · 15/03/2012 17:16

I have the roller one - it is fab! I make the dough according to the recipe that came with it, in the mixer, then attach the roller and roll it out. Perfect pasta every time. It comes with a cutter to make tagliatelle or spaghetti, or dd makes I make tortelinni by hand.

I dont think I could use one of those pasta roller things that you wind by hand - it's much easier with an electric motor, having two hands to pass through the pasta.

Chopstheduck · 15/03/2012 17:17

this one. Some the pasta in there looks vile though! Mine is golden and smooth, lol.
