Finally! I'm now in the Yahoo quiche. Grin

ariadneoliver · 22/03/2012 21:12

And I have posted the best chocolate chip cookie recipe in the world. Fact. Grin

Nospringflower · 22/03/2012 22:24

Am still waiting for another offer before I can be a proper, fully paid up, member Wink

ariadneoliver · 22/03/2012 22:54

Check google they start at £284.95

Nospringflower · 23/03/2012 07:19

Jins, could you post the pastry recipe pls? I've never actually made pastry other than by hand as I worry about overmixing it.

Chopstheduck · 23/03/2012 07:57

Def gonna try that cookie recipe too!

Nospringflower · 29/03/2012 10:15

Right, House of Fraser have the Cafe Latte mixer on sale for £377 but I really wanted cream. Have contacted John Lewis to see if they will price match but wondering if anyone can tell me how different the Cafe Latte one is? It looks pretty cream on the website but of course its hard to tell. Thanks a lot. Not sure how many people will see this tho - might have to post on chat again!!

Jins · 29/03/2012 14:38

I've seen the Cafe Latte one and it's a bit darker than the cream ones but still definitely creamish

Would cocoa silver work for you here Although bear in mind I've not seen one in real life so further research may be needed

Not sure if anyone is that interested in my quest for a cream mixer but I have finally done it Smile. John Lewis pricematched the House of Fraser offer so I am collecting it tomorrow Shock. Now all I need to do is learn how to bake Wink

Welcome to the quiche nospring

Nospringflower · 31/03/2012 14:02

Thank you thank you Grin! Am going to collect my new precious baby this afternoon so will buy some ingredients on my way home. Think I might start by making some bread rolls or something like that. Might faff some more and find some recipes ....

ariadneoliver · 31/03/2012 14:36

I've added a recipe for cheese and bacon scones which I've done a couple of times now and found them very tasty.

Ooh can I join!

I'm now the proud owner of an Artisan in green apple :)

So far I have made focaccia, plain white bread, a victoria sponge and chocolate brownies.

Chopstheduck · 01/04/2012 08:06

Wohoo and I thought the thread had died!

Welcome, new converts Grin

Well I get chance will have to upload the recipes for tortillas. Not really made anything more exciting that that over the past week. But homemade, warm tortillas are much nicer than shop bought (and cheaper!)

cathkidstonbag · 01/04/2012 10:52

Hi not sure if anyone on here can help me. I have a KA that I've had for almost 2 years. I use it a bit, maybe once a week? Went to use it today and noticed that my beater (the white one) has a big patch at the bottom where the white has flaked off and it's down to the metal. Is this bit guaranteed? Happened to anyone else? Don't want to use it and get paint flakes in my cakes!

Nospringflower · 01/04/2012 11:46

Well haven't been able to make anything yet as John Lewis phoned yesterday to say there was a delay and mixer won't be ready until today. Have looked up bread recipes but they were all doing it by hand. Can I use same recipes and just bung everything in (have maybe been reading too much Jamie Blush) or do I need special mixer recipes? Thanks Smile

ariadneoliver · 01/04/2012 16:50

cath I haven't had that problem myself, but it can be an issue with the beater. Try the KA website, I have read of this before but can't remember the solution.

Chopstheduck · 02/04/2012 07:24

cathkidson, I have that, the paint has sort of cracked off. I think in my case it was actually my fault as I didn't put it in properly once when it was new and it was scraping against the bowl. Off to have a google now tho!

Kellamity · 02/04/2012 07:28

Cath KA customer support are really helpful. My beater has a couple of wires loose they are sending me a new one. I found their number on the website. Smile

Nospringflower · 06/04/2012 07:58

Well, have made bread twice and brownies once and all good so far Smile. It's a friends birthday on Monday and she wants us to make a lemon drizzle cake so will do that tomorrow or Sunday. Does anyone have a good recipe for tortillas?

Also I'm not sure if you can just take any recipe and do it in the mixer or if you need special recipes. Can anyone advise me on this?

Thanks

ariadneoliver · 06/04/2012 08:15

You don't need any special recipes, think of the mixer as a tool to make the beating/whipping/kneading stages of recipes easier. :)

Chopstheduck · 06/04/2012 12:07

Nospringflower - Ive uploaded my tortilla recipe to the group. :)
