For me...
Pursuit of Happiness
Elephant Man

There's definitely more but I can't think and I've had 2 gins so I'll be better thinking tomorrow.
But I just saw a clip on LinkedIn from pursuit of happiness and it made me cry just from the clip!

An oldie - Terms of endearment

Sobbed at the end of the last Bond film - mainly as I'd gone to see it for something lighthearted!

I just watched 'Awakenings' it's on Netflix.
Robin Williams and Robert De Niro. FANTASTIC acting. Powerful film. Based on true events

Agree amazing film. Robin Williams is also in one called What dreams may come. Its strange but a lovely story, very unusual.

Honey83 · 25/01/2023 00:37

Cry at everything lol.

Philadelphia and Forrest Gump, both with Tom Hanks. If I watch either one, they stay with me even the next day.

Moggyd · 25/01/2023 14:28

Brokeback Mountain. Absolutely savage.

Oh my god Cargo, I'd completely forgotten about that one!
Didn't make me cry, but did make DH bawl like a baby, he's never forgiven me for making him watch it!

Cried through most of An Cailin Ciuin (The Quiet Girl) - such a moving film.

I got tears in my eyes at the biscuit scene and sniffled silently through most of the rest.

justcouldntthinkofausername · 26/01/2023 08:21

I recently watched Somg for a Raggy boy.
Oh my god this film! It made me angry with rage and it made me so emotional and distraught and it actually played on my mind for a few days. Hardest thing is knowing it's true too 😢😢😭

The one I COULDN'T cry about was the Boy with the Striped Pyjamas. I couldn't because I had a lump in my throat as big as a tennis ball and couldn't swallow. My chest was as tight as a drum. This lasted for days and I couldn't let go. How I wanted to cry.

TwinsAndTiramisu · 01/02/2023 19:18

Lots of usual suspects on this thread,so thought I'd go for so more out there ones...

Three very random film/TV moments that make me cry:

Disney Cars - where McQueen forfeits the race and bumps the crashed blue car over the race line whilst all the other cars get choked up and cheer. No idea why this gets me, every single time. Toddler DS looks at me strangely.

Sherlock - His best man's speech. One of the finest pieces of script in recent TV. Mark Gatiss is genius.

Rose and Giovanni's silent moment in their dance on Strictly. Caught me off guard and I bawled.

pawsbaws · 01/02/2023 19:18

Once upon a time in the west.

A long film… but I find it very moving.

Spottypaperdoll · 01/02/2023 19:25

I’m surprised no one has mentioned My Girl, it’s heartbreaking
