Worst movie you've ever seen

DH and I just finished watching 'Downsizing' starring Matt Damon and we're baffled.

Legit looked at each other at the end of the movie like wtf was that🤣🤣
The downsizing concept (shrinking people) sounded interesting and had so much potential at the start but then the movie suddenly turns into what feels like a completely different plot about global warming and saving the planet.
What a waste of a good cast too - Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz etc

It's not even bad in a funny way, it's just bad. I was expecting a comedy 😑
It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Hated it so much I started a thread lmao 😂

What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

@CirqueDeMorgue

The Wicker Man remake 🤣
How could I have forgotten that!
hazandduck · 13/06/2021 19:41

Just remembered After Earth with Will Smith. Critics dubbed it “After Birth.” It was trying to be clever and was just so awful! His son is so hard to warm to as the lead in it.

I agree about Cloverfield and the motion sickness. I felt so nauseous I had to go and sit upstairs whilst DH watched the end, I couldn’t even hear it any more it made me feel so ill! Never experienced anything like that before!

TSSDNCOP · 13/06/2021 20:41

@thenightsky I was on a very very very long flight and it was that or stare at the seat back in front as I'd finished my book too quickly.

I thought Jennifer Saunders version of Fernando was fucking ace though.

FionnulaTheCooler · 13/06/2021 22:03

DH and I both hated Sweeney Todd and switched it off after about half an hour, tedious nonsense. I dislike Tim Burton films in general though, style over substance.

HelloBunny · 13/06/2021 22:10

The Family Stone. Stellar cast, terrible movie.

Holothane · 13/06/2021 22:52

Oh I hated Sweeney Todd as well, in fact musicals full stop and most comedies.

upinaballoon · 14/06/2021 19:06

A Kung Fu film in Italian, followed by Tenet and The Revenant.

kidneynewname · 14/06/2021 19:21

I watched the new Mark Whalberg film, Infinite last night.

It was directed by the guy who did Training Day and The Equaliser. Plus Chiwetel Ejiofor supporting so despite Mark Whalberg I had high hopes.

Both DH and I agreed it was the worst film we've seen in years.

ErykahBaddy · 14/06/2021 19:28

What was so bad about Tenet? It may not have been amazing but worst film EVER? How??

Bluntness100 · 14/06/2021 19:31

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but snakes on a plane is pure unadulterated shite.

ChequerBoard · 14/06/2021 19:36

I take it that I'm the only person on this thread that has suffered through the truly abysmal Moshi Monsters Movie?

It was years ago now and I can still remember the headache I had from the assault on my senses - very loud tuneless 'music' accompanied by garishly bright fast moving animation. Truly awful.

It was the only time I've looked forward to taking young DC out to the toilet in the middle of a film. Found myself asking DS if he wanted to go - he had form at the the time for faking the need for a wee when he was bored, no such luck that day!

FionnulaTheCooler · 14/06/2021 19:42

I had blocked the Moshi Monsters Movie from my memory, until now. Sadly haven't managed to do the same for Detective Pikachu, which was also abysmal.

LoveFlowers · 14/06/2021 20:27

Skyline - I actually watched it to the end hoping it would get better... Wish I hadn't.

ErykahBaddy · 14/06/2021 20:54

The Tree of Life, anyone?

CathyorClaire · 14/06/2021 21:26

Snakes On A Plane wasn't entirely unwatchable. I made it through.

Moshi Monsters sounds like a kind of remake of the Pokemon Movie I slept through on ds2's birthday cinema visit some seventeen years ago.

In my defence I had a hideous cold and I was at the end of the row so any invitees with escape in mind weren't able to break free at will...

CathyorClaire · 14/06/2021 21:31

Has anyone nominated Midsommar yet?

Poor man's Wicker Man remake.

I actually bought the thing on DVD Angry. Happy to report I offloaded it on eBay shortly after for a fortunately paltry loss #smug

CirqueDeMorgue · 14/06/2021 21:40

@CathyorClaire I am a massive Wicker Man fan and I really liked Midsommar! Except that part.

languagelover96 · 15/06/2021 09:59

The boy in the striped pyjamas

Bluntness100 · 15/06/2021 10:54

@languagelover96

The boy in the striped pyjamas
Oh I thought that was an excellent movie.
EuphorbiaPlant · 15/06/2021 11:01

I can't remember the name. The Netflix one where Sandra Bollock is in a rowing boat blindfolded with a turtle (or some other creature) in a box for about two hours.

So boring.

EuphorbiaPlant · 15/06/2021 11:01

** Sandra Bullock. Sorry, Sandra Blush

Bluntness100 · 15/06/2021 12:12

To be honest I find most Sandra bullock movies shite.

paniniswapx3 · 15/06/2021 12:40

@EuphorbiaPlant - Birdbox? I thought that was a great movie!

EuphorbiaPlant · 15/06/2021 12:40

Apart from Miss Congeniality, which is one of the best films ever made. Seriously. I love it.
EuphorbiaPlant · 15/06/2021 12:41
@EuphorbiaPlant - Birdbox? I thought that was a great movie!
YES! That sounds like it. I found it so dull, basically just Sandra Bullock rowing for 90 minutes. Grin
