DH and I just finished watching 'Downsizing' starring Matt Damon and we're baffled.

Legit looked at each other at the end of the movie like wtf was that🤣🤣
The downsizing concept (shrinking people) sounded interesting and had so much potential at the start but then the movie suddenly turns into what feels like a completely different plot about global warming and saving the planet.
What a waste of a good cast too - Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz etc

It's not even bad in a funny way, it's just bad. I was expecting a comedy 😑
It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Hated it so much I started a thread lmao 😂

What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

YY to The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Also Broken Flowers with Bill Murray. And Groundhog Day.

I basically detest Bill Murray films but get suckered by sweet whispering plotlines far too often Angry

CathyorClaire · 12/06/2021 20:31

Clearly none of you have watched Sharknado

I raise you Piranha

TRON

Only the remake. The original was style

CathyorClaire · 12/06/2021 20:35

I raise you Piranha

Piranha 3D that is although I expect the original was pretty awful too Grin

iklboo · 12/06/2021 20:38

Mandy with Nic Cage. Really, really dreadful.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/06/2021 20:56

Did anyone like the John Wick films?

I felt like I was supposed to be enjoying myself when I watched them but they were just so... Meh.

Disfordarkchocolate · 12/06/2021 20:58

I loved John Wick. We ended up watching the in reverse order which was a bit odd.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 12/06/2021 20:58

@GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou

I saw the first one. all I remember is his dog being killed in the beginning - is that right?
can't remember a thing otherwise so couldn't have been good🤣

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 12/06/2021 21:01

@CathyorClaire

the original Tron is epic.
it's on Disney + in my watchlist, waiting for Euro to finish to watch it with kids (currently glued to Belgium v Russia, go on Belgium!!!!)

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/06/2021 21:08

Yes, it's a puppy revenge story which is why I thought I would like it.

DH loved them too.

I faked enthusiasm. Blush :o

SkiingIsHeaven · 12/06/2021 22:09

The worst film of all time was Lost in Translation. Utter bilge.

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 12/06/2021 22:12

Sum of all fears -so boring
The transformer film with wahlberg in it.
You me n Dupree

RolloTomassi · 12/06/2021 22:24

@Borisjohnsonshairbrush I've never actually seen the film but You Me and Dupree deserves its place on here just for the most annoying title in all the land!

sqirrelfriends · 12/06/2021 22:27

@Roselilly36

The Greatest Showman
Thank you @Roselilly36

Utter crap, seriously the worst film I have ever seen.

Icepinkeskimo · 12/06/2021 22:56

All is lost

Should have been re-titled "Lost your mind" watching this pile of shite.

The most boring tiresome film ever made.

SappysCurry · 12/06/2021 23:04

Dude where’s my car
Utter puerile rubbish

mayaknew · 12/06/2021 23:05

A film about the sun shrinking I think it was called Sunshine? Was an absolute pile of shite

So was Ad Astra

Abracadabra12345 · 12/06/2021 23:09

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit

Toss Up Between

Tenet
Roma
The Shape Of Water

Happy to say Why but SPOILERS

My son loved Tenet and my daughter and I were pleasantly surprised by The Shape of Water. DS also saw Interstellar twice and said it’s a really clever film.

I also love Gravity which I’ve seen twice!

SappysCurry · 12/06/2021 23:17

I think films have got worse in the last few years whilst TV has got better and better

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 13/06/2021 00:19

I absolutely agree, Sappys.

LunaNorth · 13/06/2021 10:03

Controversially, I watched Klute last night, and would put it up there with the bad ‘uns.

Jane Fonda as the most verbose and unconvincing prostitute in the world. With a mullet. And by the end I felt like I was far too intimately familiar with her nipples.

And why would the perp commission a private investigator into his own crime?

Bobbins.

Kollywobble · 13/06/2021 10:04

Has anyone said Orphan yet? It's a horror film about a couple who've lost their baby and adopt a nine-year-old girl but she has a big secret. It's absolute tripe!

Figgygal · 13/06/2021 10:16

The Robert Downey jnr Doolittle was diabolical

BroccoliRob · 13/06/2021 13:05

@Figgygal

The Robert Downey jnr Doolittle was diabolical
Agreed. Absolute tripe - I fell asleep in the cinema.

Jane Fonda was not very happy with the way she was treated after a while (eye candy and naked etc) she said on the making of barbarella she was drinking two bottles of vodka a day to get through it, I think that’s why she turned to civil rights and anti-Vietnam lobbying remember she was named Hanoi Jane and she didn’t even get taken seriously then. There is a really good interview with her on sky arts I think.
CirqueDeMorgue · 13/06/2021 18:53

The Wicker Man remake 🤣
