Worst movie you've ever seen

DH and I just finished watching 'Downsizing' starring Matt Damon and we're baffled.

Legit looked at each other at the end of the movie like wtf was that🤣🤣
The downsizing concept (shrinking people) sounded interesting and had so much potential at the start but then the movie suddenly turns into what feels like a completely different plot about global warming and saving the planet.
What a waste of a good cast too - Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz etc

It's not even bad in a funny way, it's just bad. I was expecting a comedy 😑
It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Hated it so much I started a thread lmao 😂

What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

Being an avid science fiction fan, I have a long line of duds, but the cake takes was "Brother from Another Planet". Even I couldn't grit my teeth and get to the end Grin

PixelatedLunchbox · 12/06/2021 09:57

@YesPleaseMary

Best worst film ever is Star Crash. It’s on Prime. Incomprehensible plot, abysmal script, shiny costumes, crap robots, effects done by toddlers… it is hilarious!

Sounds like one for my watch list Grin

myotherusernameisonholiday · 12/06/2021 10:03

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

Loved Interstellar!

Into the Wild. It's critically acclaimed, but DH and I both found the main character whiny and tedious.

Into the Wild! Argh I was irrationally angry at this film because it is based on a true story and

Spoiler alert

I feel like the way he died was so unnecessary and such a waste of his life! His poor family. What a horrible way to lose a child.

Rant over. Sorry.

romdowa · 12/06/2021 10:03

Has to be dirty dancing. My god what absolute drivel!

wellerhugs5 · 12/06/2021 10:10

Grin
beardeddragon174 · 12/06/2021 10:19

Yes!! I could not stand Bridesmaids!! Cringefest.

hazandduck · 12/06/2021 10:54

I agree about Into The Wild. Him burning the money. Urgh I just thought you privileged little wanker. Couldn’t relate to him at all!

TSSDNCOP · 12/06/2021 14:04

Mamma Mia
Mumma Mia 2
Pearl harbour
Boxing Helena

AlinaSquareQueen · 12/06/2021 14:17

There are lots of films mentioned on here that I love; The Wolf of Wall Street, for example, which scores 8.2 on IMDB, so I’m not the only fan!

I’ve watched loads of truly bad films but one of the absolute worst (and only one mention by a PP), was ‘Mother!’ with Jennifer Lawrence. Absolutely godawful.

Also, I detest anything like Mamma Mia and La La Land.

thenightsky · 12/06/2021 15:30

@TSSDNCOP

So after watching Mamma Mia, you still went on to watch Mamma Mia 2? Grin

Wizzbangfizz · 12/06/2021 15:33

The re make of dirty dancing - I've never cringed so much in my entire life

flapjackfairy · 12/06/2021 15:38

Mamma mia.

flapjackfairy · 12/06/2021 15:39

Ha ha see most people have beaten me to it with MM !

GooodMythicalMorning · 12/06/2021 15:40

Whaaat Hook is amazing!!

ErykahBaddy · 12/06/2021 16:28

@GooodMythicalMorning

Whaaat Hook is amazing!!
Yeah wtf! That was one of my favourite films as a child!
paniniswapx3 · 12/06/2021 16:31

I agree with a lot of those listed, particularly AI and Moulin Rouge. I'd also add Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar.

It has a great cast, including Jamie Dornan and Kristen Wiig but was so awful and I had to stop watching after 45 minutes or so (kept persevering as kept thinking it would get better!).

TRON
Can't be in the same room if it's on

Holothane · 12/06/2021 17:14

Even Eric Roberts says Sharknado is a dreadful film he only made it to have his family and friends near by, and no I won’t be buying.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 12/06/2021 17:29

I'm conflicted with Moulin Rouge!
I love the other two Red Curtain Triology films to bits and love Luhrman.
Without the music MR! is meh but not the worst.
But the soundtrack is fantastic & the Roxanne mash up is one of the incredible & heartbreakingly beautiful pieces of music, ever. Just the violins and Jacek Koman's voice....goosebumps.

EatingAllThePies · 12/06/2021 19:59

Agree with Cloverfield and AI. I also saw Anti Life recently. Absolutely gobsmackingly awful. I paid for it so saw it out but please no one else make the same mistake I did.

EatingAllThePies · 12/06/2021 20:15

@Frangipaniflower

Split with James McAvoy
Oh no one of my favourites!
moonbedazzled · 12/06/2021 20:24

Watchmen. It was 11 hours long. OK it was 3h 35. No idea who they were or why they existed. And by the end I'd have happily killed them all myself. Yay, the baddies.

And Deadpool 2. Never watched Deadpool 1. Never will. I don't mind swearing but the script was one long profanity. Actually the film was a profanity. To my senses.
