Can we have a "What movie NOT to see" thread?

Tell me what NOT to see and why NOT to see it ...

We got out The Black Dahlia (Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johanssen) the other day on DVD.
Pants pants pants .... even DH didn't like it and he likes the sort of film that makes you think ... we didn't get it ... crap.
And what is it about 'mumbling' at the moment ... DH and I spent most of the film saying either, "What did he say?" or "Who the hell is he?" ...

Don't waste your money ...

Your turn -

training day -

just could not get into it - now whether that was because I was heavily pregnant and uncomfortable or cause it was story line slow and dark, lots of links that you had to think about and make iyswim.

ghosty · 08/05/2007 08:46

Thanks eidsvold ... will remember that ...

Any more?

did not like collateral - tom cruise - just violent for violence sake or so it seemed.

franca70 · 08/05/2007 12:24

I hated lost in translation...

Boco · 08/05/2007 12:26

Love Actually gave me hives and made me dry wretch.

LucyJones · 08/05/2007 12:28

Vanilla Sky was dull
I didn't like Cold Mountain with Nicole Kidman

ArcticRoll · 08/05/2007 12:30

Yes agree franca70,although I'm sure is appealing to middle aged men.

Hated Crash, can't believe Brokeback Mountain lost to this in the Oscars.

Flushed Away is pretty awful.

Marina · 08/05/2007 12:31

Agree totally, don't go near Love Actually.
I don't even need to have seen it to know it is loathesome sentimental meretricious pap
The name Bertolucci usually sends me rootling around in the ITV2 schedules too

ArcticRoll · 08/05/2007 12:33

Oh yes Boco,, Love Actually is dire (apart from Emma Thompson storyline).
Embarrased to say I found that quite moving.

eidsvold · 08/05/2007 12:33

oh yes Crash... was dire.

LucyJones · 08/05/2007 12:36

Battlefield Earth is also rubbish
as is that one where Alanis Morrisette plays God... total pants

expatinscotland · 08/05/2007 12:37

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

It was eternal all right.

Must.Not.Slap.Kate.Winslet.

franca70 · 08/05/2007 12:46

oh yes lucyjones, was that the one with matt damon and ben affleck being angels??? terrible!
lol at bertolucci.
breaking the waves
the thin red line

sanae · 08/05/2007 12:46

I loved Crash!

Just watched Borat - awful
Also disliked Eternal Sunshine..., Lost in Translation - completely overhyped

HuwEdwards · 08/05/2007 12:48

The devil wears Prada

was shite.

franca70 · 08/05/2007 12:48

and the virgins suicide

tokentotty · 08/05/2007 12:48

Hulk, definitely.

I was bitterly cross with DH for wasting two whole hours of my precious life that I can never get back watching this, the biggest pile of sh*te I've ever seen.

suzywong · 08/05/2007 12:49

Happy Feet

happy my arse

franca70 · 08/05/2007 12:50

dh insisted on going to see lord of the rings. the first one. I was pg with my first dc. it was torture. I went to the toilets 5 times.

Boco · 08/05/2007 12:50

The worst film i've ever nearly seen all of was Van Helsing. Awful shite. I was ill and lying on the sofa and couldn't find the remote. Took the last of my strength to reach the off button.

themoon66 · 08/05/2007 12:50

Agree with every single one so far... especially Borat and that Sunshine of Spotless Mind crap.

Also add to list Hostel... vile, vile, vile.

sandyballs · 08/05/2007 12:51

at Boco.

We saw Borat at the weekend - really really awful. No idea why it got so many great reviews, it was embarrassing to watch.

imnot27 · 08/05/2007 12:51

The History Boys - surely only interesting if you a)went to Oxford b) Are a twat.
Also Pirates of the carribean dead mans chest - was like being in hell for two hours!

Crazydazy · 08/05/2007 12:54

Little Miss Sunshine, pile of pants

Cappuccino · 08/05/2007 12:55
