Tell me what NOT to see and why NOT to see it ...

We got out The Black Dahlia (Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johanssen) the other day on DVD.
Pants pants pants .... even DH didn't like it and he likes the sort of film that makes you think ... we didn't get it ... crap.
And what is it about 'mumbling' at the moment ... DH and I spent most of the film saying either, "What did he say?" or "Who the hell is he?" ...

Don't waste your money ...

Your turn -

Bright Young Things is quite an obscure one, but springs to mind as the worst film I have ever seen.

There was another one, a horror one as well with a wooden man called 'Morty' Anyone seen that?

Crazydazy · 08/05/2007 12:56

Little Miss Sunshine, pile of pants.

But I loooooved Brokeback Mountain.

Would have loved to have been sandwiched between those two.

Winestein · 08/05/2007 12:58

Oh blimey. I'm lurking on this thread trying not to work but I have to second or third or whatever "DOGMA".
What a pile.
Sorry Capp. I do like Pirates of the Carribean though. And Borat...

brimfull · 08/05/2007 12:59

broken flowers -utter tripe,coma inducing

Boco · 08/05/2007 13:03

What? Little Miss Sunshine is fanstastic! I laughed so hard i nearly peed. [total incomprehension]

ArcticRoll · 08/05/2007 13:05

Agree ggirl about Broken Flowers.
Bill Murray playing Bill Murray again.
Just remembered Brick.
Another American independent/arthouse yawn.

Molesworth · 08/05/2007 13:05

loved little miss sunshine

and borat

and lost in translation

agree about love actually though - utter shit

Molesworth · 08/05/2007 13:05

oh yes brick was terrible!

Molesworth · 08/05/2007 13:06

I think swordfish is one of the worst films i've ever seen

franca70 · 08/05/2007 13:06

Haven't seen pirates of the... etc.
sorry capp! tell me more about your fav movies, we might share some, who knows?

franca70 · 08/05/2007 13:07

I can't stand jim carrey.

donnie · 08/05/2007 13:08

Martin Scorcese's Gangs of New York is awful - a load of incomprehensible ranting and fighting with no story line that I could detect. A load of overpaid actors poncing around in stupid costumes - utter drivel. How it won an oscar I will never know.

Boco · 08/05/2007 13:10

hated Brick too.

I didn't mean to like Borat, but it made me larf. I love Bill Murray, he's in one of my favourite ever films, i want to give him a cuddle.

Winestein · 08/05/2007 13:12

What, so you secretly like Ghostbusters then Boco? I met a Bill Murray lookalike when I was younger. I gave him a cuddle.

Boco · 08/05/2007 13:14

I can openly say that i like ghostbusters actually, its fine.

Winestein · 08/05/2007 13:14

I lost the will to live watching Devil wears Prada (the devils makes you watch it more like); don't waste your time with Children of Men ) even if you're, like me, a Clive Owen fan), even he can't redeem that pile of utter crap.

Loved Little Miss Sunshine, have in fact watched it twice!
And Crash.

ArcticRoll · 08/05/2007 13:21

Yes agree Children Of Men was disappointing.

franca70 · 08/05/2007 13:22

oh no! I have children on men on my dvd rental as a priority!

Boco · 08/05/2007 13:25

Clive Owen may be attractive, but he's a godawful actor. What was that terrible terrible thing he was in adapted from a Patrick Marber play - with Natalie Portman and Jude Law - in fact, whatever it was called it has my final vote for WORST film ever, i cringed so hard i must have blanked the title from my twitching brain.

pesme · 08/05/2007 13:26

austin powers (any of them)
anything with adam sandler.

MKG · 08/05/2007 13:26

Children of men was disappointing, but worth to see the sexy Clive Owen for two hours.

MamaG · 08/05/2007 13:27

Domino
Donnie Darko

ArcticRoll · 08/05/2007 13:28

Boco, the film was Closer.
Yep that was awful.
Adapted from a play and felt too stagey.

yacketyblah · 08/05/2007 13:29

Dogma is on my profile as one of my fave films ever. I stand by it!

Have to say Lost in Translation was such a dull film, I really resented wasting two hours of my life on that. Also American Beauty, what a load of rubbish.
