Tell me what NOT to see and why NOT to see it ...

We got out The Black Dahlia (Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johanssen) the other day on DVD.
Pants pants pants .... even DH didn't like it and he likes the sort of film that makes you think ... we didn't get it ... crap.
And what is it about 'mumbling' at the moment ... DH and I spent most of the film saying either, "What did he say?" or "Who the hell is he?" ...

Don't waste your money ...

Your turn -

Happiness is one of my fave films of all time

franca70 · 08/05/2007 18:07

franca70 · 08/05/2007 18:09

powder28 · 08/05/2007 18:20

I love the Film Career Girls

franca70 · 08/05/2007 18:23

powder, I use the website movie spoilers quite a lot. I used to love watching horror movies, but since having the children I find them too upsetting. But I'm still curious, hence my addiction to that website.

Inland Empire, 3 hours of utter nonsense. I would rather chew tinfoil with newly filled teeth.

Went with DP who is a bag fan of David Lynch, DP thought it was a work of genius I thought it was the work of someone who really really needed to see a good shrink!!!!

lazycat · 08/05/2007 19:04

Don't see Spider-Man 3. I saw it on Saturday and it was rubbish.

Moles and Franca, I liked Happiness, it worked. But Palindromes, for me, just went too far to prove a point and confused the viewer in the process. I'd like to hear your opinions though

Califrau, LOL I want my 2 hours back!

MegaLegs · 08/05/2007 19:41

I would've liked Donnie Darco more if I'd "got it". When it ended I thought I'd fallen asleep and missed a vital part.

A martial arts fan friend lent us Romeo Must Die - really dreadful.

Malaleche · 08/05/2007 19:44

That one with Salma Hayek called 'Open till dawn' or something where they turn up at a bar in the desert and everyone turns into a vampire. What a pile of absolute sh*te.

Winestein · 08/05/2007 20:09

You mean Dusk til Dawn Malaleche.
I quite liked that actually....

gybegirl · 08/05/2007 20:25

I laughed all the way through Ghost. Patrick Sweyze (sp?) is rubbish.
Da Vinci Code is a waste of time (and I even had low expectations).
My all time worst is Bridget Jones Edge of Reason. What a funny book, made into a unfunny, annoying, pain in the ass, stupid portrayal by what's her face. I would have happily punched her, two men fancying such an annoying person? No no no aghhh getting annoyed just thinking about it... must sit down and think of lovely Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean....

franca70 · 08/05/2007 20:38

I have a soft spot for ghost!
Breaking the waves.

Genidef · 08/05/2007 22:06

It's an oldie but I feel the need to diss it after being forced to watch WHAT ABOUT BOB?with Bill Murray all the way through. Pants. I also HATE the Mr Bean movies.

Genidef · 08/05/2007 22:08

add the Pelican Brief to the list.

franca70 · 09/05/2007 09:26

lol genidef. but richard dreyfuss was in it and I used to have a soft spot for him as well

Laudaud · 09/05/2007 09:30

From Pretty Woman to Bridget Jones and other shitty shite films of that ilk.
Casino
Casino Royale

god there are too, too many

evenhope · 09/05/2007 10:21

Agree with most of these, except I liked Little Miss Sunshine.

Eyes Wide Shut remains my definitive worst film of all time, followed by Circus, and anything with Jim Carey or Adam Sadler.

Open Water is another total waste of 1 1/2 hours, and also the Royal Tennenbaums.

expatinscotland · 09/05/2007 10:22

ANYTHING with Julia-Three-Dick-Gob Roberts.

Bucketsofdynomite · 09/05/2007 10:23

Seven. Horrid film you'll wish you could unwatch, even Brad Pitt doesn't redeem it.

Boco · 09/05/2007 10:29

evenhope i was with you all the way then - until the Royal tennembaums! It's brilliant! What yo talking bout?
