I m a bit sad about there being no more related characters. Dd thinks the kid at the end is a relative of Obi but I can't see how.

Loved the ending with Luke but I was surprised all the old guard have now gone.

Hated the hamster like creatures. It feels like R2D2 was 'cute' so they try to include 'cute' in the films.

Was obvious Kylo Ren and the killing of his enemy.

Loved that Black Mirror story. So sad!

It's funny that so many people don't like TLJ because they think it's too PC. I disliked is despite being a feminist/ because of being a feminist as among other things I think it's incredibly sad that Rey who was a great female character has become a standard in love/ father endorsement seeking girl trope instead of lead adventurer who happens to be female. So boring.

Plus I think one of the reasons Finn's potential love story has changed is because the options at the end of TFA were Finn having a platonic relationship with Rey (but girls can't be equal friends with guys can they?); Finn having a romance with Rey (but white girl / black guy oh no!) or Finn having a gay relationship with Poe (the most obviously set up but clearly verboten). So instead we get Rose introduced and a very unconvincing romance set up that doesn't threaten anything at all.

Oscar Isaac's role in TFA was apparently originally very small and he obviously took a few liberties along the way. Perhaps that's why his character was turned into such an idiot in TLJ.

It's called Star Wars. The fight between light and darkness. The Skywalker family saga. Sometimes heros, sometimes villains.

They wouldn't suddenly boldly go where no alien has gone before to explore new galaxies, or get lost in space, or start fighting a new breed of acid blood creature.

Fair enough in that case they shouldn't have bothered making another 3.

There is certainly a case for that.

But although the story arch is very similar, the context and relationships are different.
Kylo Ren took power from Snoke. Darth Vader hadn't. Their motivations were different.
Will we see the force go from an elite dominated tool, to a community, open for all, tool?
Can the Galaxy really create a stable democratic system?

Saw it last night I generally enjoyed it I think Adam driver is a great actor but my lord too long, rose and Finn and casino world could have been cut and no one would have noticed. Poe was an irresponsible wise boy loved it when Leia reappeared and stunned his ass.

Still better than any of the prequels
