What is the worst film you have ever seen?

I was looking at the Super Mario game on the DS for my brother when someone mentioned the film.
I remember seeing it, Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo. God it was dire!!
What the worst film you've seen? Any reason whatsoever, however irrational it may seem.

I can not believe no one has mentioned Big Fish.

Greensleeves · 04/03/2007 12:58

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

sounded SO interesting and was fkn lamentable

Greensleeves · 04/03/2007 12:59

And anything featuring the pugtastically fuglybugly Kirstie Alley

edam · 04/03/2007 13:01

Tough call. Hard to choose between that Baron Munchausen one by Terry Gilliam (walked out) and AI (would have walked out but was in a group and in the middle of the row. Turned out rest of the group would actually have been happy to go too.)

Greensleeves · 04/03/2007 13:02

French Kiss was unwatchable.

aDad · 04/03/2007 13:03

edam your experience of Ai is EXACTLY the same as mine - I would have walked but other people i was with looked like they thought it was ok. It really was drivel.

edam · 04/03/2007 13:06

Oh, agree with happydaddy, new Star Wars so bad people were so bored that two members of the audience were actually having sex in the cinema. And I couldn't blame them.

edam · 04/03/2007 13:08

It was even more annoying discovering the rest of the party were just as hacked off as me and would have walked! If only I'd asked them instead of sitting there thinking 'how LONG can he keep this drivel going?'

aDad · 04/03/2007 13:11

yes same here, nobody thought it was good, so we should ahve left rather than wasting 2 and a half hours or whatever it was!

SherlockLGJ · 04/03/2007 13:12

Mulholland Drive.

becklespeckle · 04/03/2007 13:25

2 of my faves are on here!!! Raising Arizona and The Trueman Show! Great films.
Can't stand:
The Specialist (Sylvester Stallone & Sharon Stone) - poor excuse for lots of things blowing up Sly and Stone getting naked
Sliver (Sharon Stone and William Baldwin) was pretty terrible too
The Long Kiss Goodnight (Geena Davies) - truly awful - she just isn't believable as an assasin!
erm War of The Roses (Michael Douglas) - pointless film
The Country Bears and Barney's Great Adventure - also terrible but at least they're aimed at kids!

Oh I missed that then pruni
I had to watch that four times during a rain-drenched Christmas break with ds, aged 3.

Overrun · 04/03/2007 14:28

Miss Congeniality 2, god it was so bad. We actually rather enjoyed the first one, although it is complete froth of course, but this, was beyond awful

Blandmum · 04/03/2007 14:30

Glengarry, glenross.

nailpolish · 04/03/2007 14:34

some of the worst ever have to be:
'alexander' much as we hate oliver stone we gave it a try....ffs this film has no redeeming features, overlong, overblowand all over the place...not ever 'val' kilmers oirish accent and colin farrell's shirley temple fright wig can save it....has he ever made a decent movie??? ('the hand' excepted of course)

zac synder's 'remake' (re: pissing on a classic) of romero's 'dawn of the dead'.....for the love of god why?....you would never tire of slapping that man now.

'cradle of fear'....not even eileen daly naked, bouffy giving birth to an octopus and a brummie dwarf running a snuff website can make top 'goth' rockers cradle of filth's debut movie watchable.

any (and i mean any) ill-guided remake/re-imagining of a classic movie by hollywood....'ringu', 'the wicker man', 'the grudge' and currently in production 'scanners'.....just. stop. now.

franca70 · 04/03/2007 17:37

so agree with the thin red line.
and remakes in general.

Spidermama · 04/03/2007 17:55

I mistakenly took the advice of Mark Kermode and took the kids to see Spongebob Squarepants with my dad. I spent the entire film mouthing, 'I'm so sorry' to my dad.

Horrible film. So stressful from begining to end. Not a single saving grace. Have never taken Kermode seriuosly again.

willywonka · 04/03/2007 18:10

Must confess to being a closet Spongebob fan (though I must confess that it wouldn't be my Dad's cup of tea.

Have to agree about Miss Congeniality 2 which was one of two offerings on a flight over to in laws a couple of years back. On the way back we had Monster-in-law, an unbearable offering with Jane Fonda & Jennifer Lopez. Both flights felt twice as long as a result...

Vanilla Sky: - poo
Closer: super-poo
Alexander: turbo dog poo
Troy - Olympic Gold Medal poo
Cold Mountain - Intergalactic runny poo
Showgirls - Runny dog poo
Eyes Wide Shut - Garbage with poo in it

I liked:
Moulin Rouge ( the chutzpah!)
The English patient (the passion KST & RF - so sexy! It's the film of the book!)
Crash (They filmed the book fair enough surely! Blame pervy Ballard)
PunchDrunkLove - (So strange and quirky bravo!)
Magnolia (only time Tom Is Good)
Talented Mr Ripley (What is there not to like here????)
