I'm a married Ms ✋

mothermayai · 05/06/2024 18:56

I was a married Ms. My DH always complained that as he'd double barrelled his name I should at least go by Mrs. So I did a PhD and now use Dr😉

prettybird · 05/06/2024 19:07

To be fair, although I've called myself Ms for c40 years if im forced to choose , I'll answer to both Miss Prettybird and Mrs Prettybird because my marital status is of no relevance to anyone. If they get it wrong, that's their problem for assuming. Wink

Ms here, and always have been from bolshy teenager right through to married dotage

socialdilemmawhattodo · 06/06/2024 22:38

Haven't bothered to read the thread. What's the point! I was Ms as single, then as married, now as divorced. Still Ms.

This is both ruder to write than not to write, and takes you longer to type the post than it would without.

What’s the point?

Me too!

Jealous of all the Drs on this thread i would love to be Dr my name!!

@PurpleBugz
I'm a doctor (well a PhD rather than a medical one) and I know loads. In my experience most choose to use the Dr bit only at work, ie professionally, so it wouldn't help with the school anyway.

BiddyPop · 07/06/2024 10:35

Me too - 24 years married and I am still Ms Birthsurname...but will answer to Mrs Husbandsurname, as he also answers to Mr (my)Birthsurname.

Have been a Ms since the mid 80s, and remained so after getting married in 2017.

Didn't change my name either, did you OP?

Same here. Decided I was a Ms when I was 14, married in 2003 and still a Ms now. Kept my last name too.
