Katie Price has been assaulted and has a "split eye".

So many people calling her names, saying she probably deserved it because she's gobby etc.

The thing that annoys me the most are people who say 'everyone makes mistakes' as if they and their family are divinely protected against drunk drivers recklessness. Punishments really are a joke.

I think KP needs the shock of jail time, then a long spell in rehab.

She's already been banned 6 times, she needs locking up. Also of course no insurance, can you imagine what would have happened if she'd hit someone.

I have no idea why some people continue to shout about what a good mother she is. I don't think so.

She is very unlikely to receive a jail sentence however. Well, she probably will do but it'll be suspended. That's just normally the way it goes in my experience of these things (my experience is on the law side of things I hasten to add!) and it doesn't matter that she's been banned previously half a dozen times

It's astonishing that you can have six bans (and flout them) and still not be in prison. Insanity.

She's been ordered into rehab apparently, suspended sentence.

I don't like KPs public image at all, and I don't know her personally but she appears to be a very broken individual who needs significant help. Although prison may have been the 'shock' we think she may have needed I'm not sure. I think she needs extensive therapy as she clearly has drink and drug issues which are normally a symptom rather than a cause. Her choice in men (with the possible exception of PA) has been questionable and most appear to have been abusive in one way or another. I genuinely think she needs the freedom programme and lengthy therapy for the other issues.

Sympathy and compassion? For someone who has been banned for drink and drugs driving half a dozen times? For someone who's driven their kids around whilst pissed? For someone who could have killed someone the other day?

I hope you have the same compassion for ant mcpartlin? After all, he drove the following afternoon, didn't realise he'd be so drunk still. So.. your compassion for him is a given yes?

I wish her no ill will and I hope she will be ok. But the 'wonderful mother' thing is just such a tired narrative now and just not true

I feel sympathetic towards her for many reasons.

I have no sympathy for her current driving issues. In fact I am deeply unsympathetic.

Lots of people have tough lives - it doesn't excuse her from taking to the roads whilst off her head on drink & drugs.

I have sympathy for her kids, her, not so much, especially as she was on daytime TV saying she couldn't go and see Harvey due to being banned.

Exactly, she can't go and see her son - but she can drive to get some more drugs instead.

I meant for the domestic violence! I am sure most people know that men (most reported domestic violence is committed by men) find women who are vulnerable and she IS vulnerable, she might have shit loads of money but she’s still as vulnerable as someone who’s skint because of her circumstances. What I am saying is we should all sympathise with ANY victim and not blame them no matter what.

She decided to stick two fingers up at her driving ban, the court, the judicial system and the general public. Get into her car whilst over the limit for drink and with drugs in her system - drive and crash the car on a public road where anyone or our loved ones could have been.
