blissa · 14/04/2010 15:11

Hi ladies. I'm back from a lovely stay with my sister- she got me running! We have been out early-ish each morning and although I am aching I think I am going to try and keep it up. We also ate a lot and I got on her scales this morning and nearly wept, but it would have been worse if I hadn't exercised! The drive there and back was ok too.

Welcome to our little gang choclab. I have just read your other thread. You sound very much like I was this time last year. I know it is scary, but I honestly believe that all will be ok on friday, but you are doing absolutely the right thing getting it checked out.

Well done for getting through your panic in Tesco, I think that place sets most of us off I'm glad you have spoken to your dh, what he said is right.

I understand your reluctance to try the ADs, when did the GP give them to you? I know it's hard but the only way you can get through the days til friday is to try and keep yourself busy. Sitting and thinking about it and checking will just drive you mad and make you feel worse, the more you check the more you need to check iykwim? Keep talking to us

Hope you are enjoying dh being back Yommy. Dp and I have sorted things for now. How is the throat?

Hope your session went well last night kildare. Your poor ds, hope he's ok now. Dd1 had a huge nose bleed too on monday night, just after we'd put them all to bed. She hadn't bumped it and swore she hadn't picked it . She got quite a fright bless her

kildare34 · 14/04/2010 22:34

Evening everyone. Well I got on fine last night with my therapist but I find it very tiring afterwards. I suppose that is to be expected with the emotions that are being discussed. Anyway I am glad I am going but it is expensive €50 euros a pop!

Had a lovely day, went for coffee in the morning with a friend and then went for lunch with ds2 to my mothers house.

Blissa - That's great you had a lovely time with your sister. Running is a great way to keep fit and especially for keeping the anxiety at bay. DS1 is fully recovered now! He apparantly was trying to climb down the bunk bed like spiderman God love your dd, nose bleeds are awful and they can be quite frightning.

Choclab - How are you feeling now?

Anyway heading to bed now. Talk later.

choclab · 15/04/2010 19:34

Hello ...

getting neuvous now ,appt at clinic tomorrow at 9 am ...please let it be ok

just want to have it over with now , feel sick , churned up and barley raise a smile ...

but if bad at least can do something about it right ? better to know than keep on wondering ?

sorry for waffle ...thanks x

blissa · 15/04/2010 20:25

Hi choclab. Good luck for tomorrow. It's good that the appointment is first thing, I'm sure this time tomorrow you will be feeling reassured. And yes it you are doing the right thing

Good to hear the session went well kildare. I've just finished cleaning up after the second nose bleed of the week- dd2 this time- ds punched her on the nose

Went for a run round the park this morning, on my own. Felt a bit conspicuous, like everyone was watching me- I know they weren't! Will have to try and get out earlier, there are too many people about at 7.45!

YommyMommy · 15/04/2010 20:50

Evening Ladies,

How are you all? Sorry not been around for a few days! Been busy out and about with the boys and DH coming home We've had fab weather all this week!

Choclab - how has the rest of your day been? Try not to think too much about tomorrow! At least its a 9, so you won't have to wait all day! It wil be fine, but let us know how you get on!!! x x x

Blissa - Glad you had a fun time at your sisters! And well done on the running! I bet you feel so much better for it! I joined the gym last week and was there for 9 this morning - I felt great the rest of the day! Wish I could do it every day! Hope you don;t have anymore nose bleeds - Eek!!!

Kildare - Glad your session went well! Its only worth the money if you feel its working for you!! Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday! Not been for a coffee for ages

Well better go and get my DS in. He's still out playing all the kids in the street stay out later during the holidays, especially when its nice!

Hope everyone has had a nice day!

blissa · 16/04/2010 11:11

Hope the appointment went ok choclab

Sounds like you've had a nice week Yommy, well done on the gym. I didn't go running this morning- I've decided that friday and sundays will be my days off.I'm going to try and do an exercise video later, but I'm looking after my friends dcs for the day so I might not get time. How long is dh home for?

choclab · 16/04/2010 15:56

Hi all all was good ...

got in a right state before i went in...

nice nurse scanned all my moles for me again like last october and i showed her one i was worried about ...all were fine , no change at all from last check and said the one i showed her was also fine then my dermatologist came to have alook at scan pics and mole and assured all was fine .....YAY such a relief ...

Thank you yoummy and all for listening to me go on .

i feel lot better and will enjoy big glass of wine tonight

however i must now really address my anxiety issue ... i cant go on like i have done ... any suggestions ? going to book induction for gym that will be good for me i think , get fit and something to focus on ..

pop back later

thanks once more
xx

kildare34 · 16/04/2010 16:42

Hi Choclab, I am delighted that everything went really well for you. Such a relief for you I think I will join you for that glass of wine!

The gym sounds a great idea! Talk later. x

blissa · 16/04/2010 17:48

Joining you in a glass of wine here too choclab. So pleased all is well and that you are feeling reassured

YommyMommy · 16/04/2010 17:52

Fantastic news choclab, so glad it all went well for you! Hope you enjoy the wine tonight - I am going to a little girlie night tomorrow night, so will save myself til then!! Now onto the anxiety, have you tried any of the self help books? I bought a few and they are good just to have a read through and to put your mind at rest. Try amazon - overcoming anxiety. They have a redish cover. I never actualy followed them, but I like reading through the information and it helps me remember that its just anxiety and not dangerous! I know this is so hard to remeber when you are in the middle of a panic, but I promise it does get easier with time. And the gym sounds like a fab idea - exercise def helps with anxiety!

I had a bit of a panic in tesco this morning, lol!! Damn you tesco! I went to a store which has an upstair & downstairs and I hate it because if feels so small and closed in. But when I got the the checkout I felt really faint - I just got chating to the checkout lady then got out of there! Felt fine the minute I left!

Other than that - had a lovely day out in the sun with my boys and Hubby! Wouldn't it be wonderful if this weather could last???

Good for you taking a day off Blissa - looking after all those children probably gave you a good work out! lol! Hope you have had fun!

Speak later once the boys are in bed! Think that might be a long way away!!!

blissa · 16/04/2010 18:57

Bloody Tesco yommy . If it wasn't for the clubcard points I'd boycott them! Well done for getting through it, sounds like the rest of your day was good. Have you seen anything of this ash cloud where you are?

I second Yommys suggestion about the books choclab. My mum bought me one after I was ill last year and it really helped me out of a panic attack once by listing all the symptoms so I knew I wasn't dying. I found this website helful too.

I think the gym is a great idea, as well as getting out in the fresh air, walking or gardening? Find something that is just for you, a hobby, something to keep your mind focused. Distraction is the key

blissa · 16/04/2010 19:01

Also meant to say, I know you aren't keen on taking the ADs you've been prescribed. Can you go back to the gp and talk about other options? Maybe seeing a different gp would help, some aren't as understanding as others. The gp I saw for my illness was not the gp to talk to about my mental health! Keep talking, don't bottle it up xx

YommyMommy · 16/04/2010 21:29

Not seen anything of the cloud Blissa - I am 20 mins drive from Glasgow airport. Although I think we are feeling the Iclandic air blowing in - its been a bit chilly today despite the beautiful sunshine!
