Hi can you ladies help? I just started my blog on anxiety and panic attacks as a means of helping others. There are plenty of blogs out there already but I wanted to put a different perspective on anxiety related disorders.

Would you ladies mind having a read? does it sound too patronising?
helpforpanicattackandanxietysufferers.blogspot.com/

YommyMommy · 07/03/2010 21:23

hey Justgave birth,

Just had a wee read of your posts and I think they are very informative. However your techniques might not be for everyone, for example, i don;t like the idea of talking to people about my attacks. If I feel one coming on I usually try to distract myself of remove myself from the situation.

I have been suffering form anxiety disorder for about 3 1/2 years now and I have learned to live with them as best I can.

I will keep readying though so keep psoting :D

Hope everyone else is well x x x

Hi ladies, hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Nice to see you Candy . Hope all is ok with you.

I will have a read of your blog jgb.

Good luck with the job applications Yommy.

Another beautiful day here. Going to take ds for a run around the park before the dds finish school.

xx

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 08/03/2010 18:24

evening all,
JGB will read your blog once the boys are in bed, thanks for the links.
have had a hard meeting today, have totally realised something I have been hiding from for ages.
The fear I felt whilst being attacked was eclipsed by the fear I felt of what my dad would do if I told him. I guess now I know that, I can start working on it.

YommyMommy · 09/03/2010 12:46

Afternoon ladies,

Had a busy mornign today - felt a bit on edge, but got through it as I always do!

Home to get the boys some lunch then back out to the park not as nice as it has been, but its still really mild!

BTP - even though your meeting was had, sounds like it was beneficial! Hopefully things will keep getting better for you!

Did you run round the park Blissa??? I really need to get back into doing something! Doing nothing and eating too much = not good!

Hope you are all having a nice day x x x

blissa · 09/03/2010 14:05

Hi girls

Hope you are feeling ok today Greyskull, I know yesterday was tough, but like Yommy says the meeting sounds beneficial and will help you to make progress.

I ran around a bit yesterday Yommy, nothing too strenuous (sp?)

Been helping out at pre-school this morning which was nice. The people who run it are lovely and the kids are great, I really enjoyed it!

YommyMommy · 10/03/2010 09:10

Morning ladies,

Another beautiflu day here for us, although not sure i'll be getting to enjoy it much. Have DS off of nursery today as his temp was sky high all through the night. He is a little pale looking this morning, but seems fine otherwise. Think its going to be a long day due to lack of sleep last night.

We are going down south in a few weeks n I just found out last night that I am going to have to drive up the road myself due to my relatives staying on down south a little longer, i'm worrying about it already and i think its going to be playing on my mind the whole holdiday It's only a 2 hours, do you think i'll be okay??? Been worring about it most of last night too, which didn't help with sleeping matters!!!

Hope you all have a nice day, will pop in later to see if anyone is around!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 10/03/2010 09:13

Hi Yommy,
sorry to hear you are worried about the drive, without outing your location too much can you break the journey up with a visit to a friend or national trust property or something.

then you aren't looking at a 2 hour drive, you are going to drive 45 mins to *&s's house for a cuppa, then you are going to rive home from there.

2 hour straight drive isn't bad if you dont mind it but if you are anxious about it it could feel like a really longtime.

Can we help with finding somewhere fr you to stop on the way back?

YommyMommy · 10/03/2010 20:54

hey BTP, thanks for your concern there are a few nice palces to stop on the way, but i'm really worried about being that far from home on my own so would probably prefer just to drive the whole time to get home quicker. I know I will prob be fine, just hate the thought of it as two young kids aren't much of a distraction - especially when they both sleep every time we go any distance in the car. I will just make sure I take a few of my fav CD's to listen too. Unfortunatly I don't know anyone who live on the way Its just the being stuck out in the middle of no where, don't know if you ahve ever travelled the road form England to Scotland, but its really loanly at some points. Neve mind - i'll have to do it as I have no option!

Anyway - going to bed now, my DS's temp has been creeping up again through the day and hes been saying he has been cold all day, hopefully he'll be feeling better tomorrow!

Goodnigh girls x x x

YommyMommy · 12/03/2010 10:36

Hi girls,

How are you all??

IO'm feeling really down in the dumps today My DS seems to be really unsettled at nursery - dispite being there for a year now The moved to a new building a few weeks ago and he was a little unsettled by that, but I thought it would have settled by now. He has been crying twice this week when I went to get him.

Its a lovely day outside so going to get out for a while this afternoon and hopefully cheer myself up a little!

Sorry for the moan! Hope you are all well

blissa · 12/03/2010 18:24

Hi Yommy, how are you feeling now?

How was ds when you picked him up today? Have the teachers said whether he is unsettled or upset when you're not there? I think they all go through stages, even when they've been happy to go to nursery, they can suddenly change.

How are you feeling about the drive now? I don't know that particular road, but I do know there is some beautiful countryside up there (I'm from Northumberland originally), maybe concentrating on the views whilst singing along to your music will get you through

How are yoy Greyskull?

I haven't been around this week as I've been really busy. Helped out at pre-school twice this week, and I just feel like I haven't stopped. I'm glad it's friday- I put my pjs on as soon as I got in from the school run, and I have hoovered and mopped the floor so I don't feel quite so behind on the housework!

Going to see my mum tomorrow, they have a new puppy so the dcs are looking forward to seeing her. Then looking forward to being pampered all day sunday, hahahaha

YommyMommy · 12/03/2010 19:39

Hi Blissa,

I am feeling okay now, thanks - its the weekend after all! I was really tired this morning as I had a terrible sleep last night so was feeling a little emotional too Will see how next week goes, hopefully better!

I am feeling okay about the trip now - I think. I will need to get through it so will have to be okay!

Your weekend sounds great Blissa. Puppy will be lovely Hope you have a wonderful time! Glad you had a busy week, keeps the mind busy Are you going to help out at pre school more often?? Sounds like fun

Hope everyone else is well x x x

Happy Mothers Day Girls! x x x

kurves · 14/03/2010 11:35

hi girls how are you all keeping i just wanted some info from you guys please i just started a diet and i am finding that i am having axieity attacks i feel depressed and low and some times in tears also i get pains in my shoulders and sometimes in my arms please help as i really am so fed up.

YommyMommy · 14/03/2010 11:46

Hey kurves,

Has it just got worse since you stared the diet?? What type of diet is it, if you don't mind me asking?? Are you eating enough?

The pains could be from being so tense all the time?? Is it in both arms? I tend to find that when I am anxious its my chest that gets really sore, but i can deal with that now as i know its just the anxiety!

Have you suffered from depression in the past? Have you spoken to your GP?

Sorry so many questions, but depression and anxiety very often come hand in hand and if it really getting you down I think speaking to your GP to see what he/she can offer to help?? I luckly haven't really had much experience with depression, mostly anxiety although I have down days like anyone! I find that when I am due on my period I can get quite down in the dumps, feel teary and my anxiety seems much worse!

Here to chat if you want x x x

kurves · 14/03/2010 14:47

yommy mommy

i do find that when i am due on that the anxiety get worse i also feel low.

but what i found out is that when oi do not eat enough it gets really bad.

I am on the Cambridge diet but not on the one where your have nothing but shakes i am on the one where i have a normal dinner 2 shakes or i shake and a bar in the day time and lots of fruit ect. but what i find is that if i do not eat for long periods or i get hungry i start to get really bad symptoms.

and the thoughts start to come back to me that may be i am having a heart attack and so on .

this is not easy for me as my family just does not care and i am a single mum who was abused. what i have done now is try to eat more on the diet and see hoew it goes.

YommyMommy · 14/03/2010 17:26

Hi Kurves,

I don't think those diets are very good for anxiety sufferers, like you I feel worse when I am hungry and my anxiety goes through the roof! I find eating same amount often keeps me on an ever keel. You could try this it a good waay to loose weight too.

I am sorry to hear you are having it tough at the moment! Have you had councelling or anything to help you get your head around the bad stuff, i.e. abuse? Thats awful curves (((((cyber hugs))))))

kurves · 14/03/2010 18:14

i think i will have to klook into it its just that every oner seems to being really cruel at the momment and i feel like i just have to isolate my self. and you are right i took a break from the diet this week end cause mothers day and myds birthday and i must say that axienty wise i do feel better.

thats i found happening to me and i lost 6 lbs in 6 days i wil start it agauin but i will have to eat little and often to keep it on track. i will let you know how it goes.
