Hi girls, i have started a new thread for us all. The other was too long. Hope you all find it.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 07/04/2010 16:43

Hi. Sorry to burst in on your long established thread, but I just found out that Xanax is no longer available in the UK at all. I've been paying for it privately for the last few months.

My GP is on holiday and her practice partner is has called in Lorazepam for me instead. Based on Wiki, its not really the same thing.

Does anyone have any experience with Lorazepam?

Also, if you currently take Xanax? Call your GP. Maybe you can get stepped off it safely. Because I sure the hell am not.

kildare34 · 07/04/2010 18:12

Hi Tee2072, you are more than welcome on this thread! I have never heard of Xanax or Lorazepam before so I have just googled them.

If you don't mind me asking what are you on them for? Have you started taking your new tablets yet? Maybe you could talk to your pharmacist about side effects etc.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Mind yourself.

Tee2072 · 07/04/2010 18:54

They are for anxiety. Isn't this a thread for that? Or did I misunderstand the title of the thread?

blissa · 07/04/2010 19:23

Hi Tee

This is an anxiety thread.

I'm sorry you've been faced with this out of the blue today. I'm sorry, but I have no knowledge of either of these drugs. I hope you get sorted soon, You are more than welcome to talk things through here if you want/need

Good to hear you had a nice day yesterday kildare. We must have swapped weather today, it's rained on and off all day here.

Dd1 has a friend staying over tonight, and it's a bit stressful as she and ds keep clashing.

The dentist went well though!

YommyMommy · 07/04/2010 20:43

Evening Ladies,

How are you all???

Tee - sorry to say I haven;t heard of thoes drugs either! I haven;t taken anything for my anxiety so have no experience of AD's at all! As has been said before - you are more than welcome to joing us if that will help you any

Hey Kildare, glad you had a good time at the play centre! Coffee and magazine sounds wonderful! I have another few years before i'm at that stage - not rushing thought

Blissa, my DS has had his friend over since tea time (just left). They play brilliant together so have had peace from one DS at least, lol!

Weather has been fab here too today! Got washing hung out . Our trip to dentist was fab too, DS's have perfect teeth

Anyway, going to get ready to wathc masterchef! Anyone been watching?? If been fantastic!

Goodnight all x x x

blissa · 07/04/2010 20:52

Oo yes Yommy I'll be watching. I think Dhruv will win.

My dinner's almost ready, so I can watch it without getting hungry for once!

youngerthanspringtime · 07/04/2010 23:44

hi all.

Tee, don't have experience with those drugs, have only been on beta blockers. Hope you can find answers though.

Blissa, glad the dentist went ok (I hate the dentist). Oh, and I'm from Ohio originally, btw. Have been in England for 12 years. I miss my family so can't wait to see my sis in a couple of days .

Yommy, hurrah for the dentist! did everyone get stickers? Wish I could watch MC but my evenings are now taken up with work since it's the only time I can get any admin done. I miss telly!

Kildare, sounds like a great time at the play centre. relaxing, even!

my older 2 DD's arrived back from grandparents today so back to reality withthe 3. ah, well, it was too quiet without them anyway. dd3 had her 1st day at nursery, she'll be going one day a week like dd2 so I can get do some catch up with work. dd1 goes to preschool in the mornings so at least I'll have one morning a week all to myself! can't imagine why i'd want to spend that time doing work!

ok, getting late and am off to get some sleep. hope you're all ok.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 08/04/2010 09:21

Morning all
my mother is descending today and I can't seem to get a grip of myself, the boys are going for a sleep over at her house I am picking them up tomorrow night - so I should be able to see the positives - all I can feel is fear.

going to take the boys out to the surestart center this morning so I am not sitting here waiting for her.

I will be ok, I will be ok, I will be ok.

YommyMommy · 08/04/2010 15:15

Hi BTP,

How are you feeling now??

Whats making you feel so worried? Has your mum have the boys overnight before?? Just try to think about the wonderful nighs sleep you are going to have!!! And the presious time you and DH will get to spend together!

You will be okay, you will be okay, you will be okay!!!

Whats the surestart centre??

How is everyone else??

I am okay today - not been feeling too great! Had a horrible, horrible nightmare last night and I think it set the mood for the day! I am really, really tired, which I don;t think is helping any! Had friends down this afternoon and I feel like I wasn't much company at all!

DS2 is having a nap n DS1 is playing his DS! We made rice crispie cakes this morning to try an use up some of the easter eggs! lol! its lovely

Hope you are all well x x x

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 08/04/2010 17:47

phew - thanks Yommy,
she has been and gone and I stood up for myself!! she arrived an hour early and I hadn't done the dishwasher or packed the boys things. but instead of apologising to her I just said - ooh because you are early you will have to cope with a messy kitchen (eeek!)
and then when I was packing she said - "what happened to the boys having beautifully ironed clothes and pj's" that would have floored me but I just said "ah yes - I got a life!"

I have no worries about the boys being with her they go and stay alot, they are brilliat grandparents. It makes it all the more of a shame that they were rubbish parents.

Sorry to hear you had a horrible nightmare, my dreams seem to haunt me all day - I wish I knew a good way of shaking them from my head!!
Hope you have had good weather for the rest of the day.

kildare34 · 08/04/2010 18:11

Sorry to hear you were stressed this morning Greyskull. Glad you stood up for yourself. Enjoy the rest of the evening and take advantage of a child free zone!

Yommy - its horrible when you have a particularly bad dream. Its hard to shake off for the rest of the day. No wonder you are tired today, you didn't get a restful sleep. Have an early night tonight Oh by the way, I like the idea of making rice krispie cakes with easter eggs!

I am grand today, weather is nice so kids can play out on their bikes with their pals.

Hope everyone else is well.

youngerthanspringtime · 08/04/2010 21:02

BTP, glad you're feeling more relaxed and loved your comments about 'got a life!' .

Yommy, don't like nightmares, hope you have a more restful night tonight.

Kildare, sounds like a lovely, sunny day!

ok today but a bit short of patience. but, I suppose that would be normal with 3 DDs under 4 - all of them very spirited! many, many tantrums today. many 'F' words said internally.

however, very excited for my sister arriving tomorrow morning! it's been 2 years since I visited my family in the US and am very homesick so spending time with my sis will be lovely!

hope everyone is ok and relaxed.

kildare34 · 08/04/2010 21:19

Younger - That's great news that your sister is arriving tomorrow morning. How long is she visiting for? Enjoy every moment with her!

By the way we all get impatient at the best of times. I love my 2 boys but sometimes I feel like I am a short order cook/maid/event organiser/therapist all rolled in one

No wonder we are all anxious! Hard work being a mother!

Night all.

YommyMommy · 08/04/2010 21:26

Evening Ladies,

Well I made it through the day - looking forward to going to bed!

Well done by BTP!!! Your comment about getting a life made me laugh out load Well done - now just enjoy your well deserved time off!!

Kildare - glad you have had a lovely day! Send some of the nice weather my way please!!!

Yonger- so glad your sister is visiting, does she have kids too?? I hope you all have a wonderful time together! I done a summer placement in New Hampshire at summer camp, many moons ago - I have been to the states a few times and I love all things American, lol! It has always been my dream to move to Boston, but DH hates all things american

Blissa - hope you have had a good day!

Off to bed to watch the rest of 'how the other half live'!

Goodnight all

blissa · 10/04/2010 13:23

Hello ladies

Sun is shining, dcs are out playing, washing is on line, and I am knackared and peed off. House is a tip and dp and I have had another stupid fall out. I feel like I am treading on eggshells with him at the moment.

Hope you are enjoying your time with your sister youngerthan.

Well done with your mum Greyskull. Sounds like you handled her in just the right way! I hope it helped to boost your confidence a bit, and that you had a lovely child-free evening with dh.

Hope you've been sleeping better yommy, nightmares are awful.

Hope you are having another nice day kildare.

Dd2 has a party to go to this afternoon, so I am going to take the other 2 shopping for a present for the auntie, and I might treat them to a mac ds.

youngerthanspringtime · 10/04/2010 16:33

blissa, hope you had a nice day out shopping with the DCs.Hope things get better with you and DP.

Yommy, I love boston and would move there in a heartbeat.

Kildare, you said it all: shortorder cook/maid/etc . we certainly know how to juggle jobs, don't we?

speaking of, must get some work done so I can enjoy the rest of the spring like weather of today.
Have a good weekend everyone.

YommyMommy · 10/04/2010 20:57

Evening Ladies,

How good is this weather! Guess most of the UK is having the glorious sunshine I had a wonderful day out with my boys today - they got a bit burnt

Blissa - sorry to hear about your fall out with DP I hope you guys sort things out soon! I feel like I'm walking on eggshels with my DH too at times - usually when he is stressed! ((((((Big Hugs)))))) for you! x x x

Yonger - sounds like you are having fun with your sister and her little one! Hope the nice weather lasts for you!!

Hey to everyone else - hope you are all enjoying the weather as much as I am! I think it def helps life the mood!

DS has been round at a neighbours watching Ghostbuster, so he has just come in! Hope he doesn;t have nightmares tonight

Goodnight all x x x

kildare34 · 12/04/2010 17:59

How's everyone today? I am in good form today, I think alot of my anxiety is related to what the weather is like The weather is lovely at the moment and it makes such a difference to how we all feel.

DS1 and DS2 were back in school and preschool today. Last night I got all the uniforms/lunches ready so not to be hassled in the morning. Anyway this morning, ds1 was messing and fell from his top bunk and landed on his nose. Blood driping everywhere and him screaming his head off that he was going to die! My ds1 is a bit of a drama queen like his mother Anyway he is fine, nothing that big hugs and a spoon of nurofen can't sort out!

Younger - Hope you are having a great time with your sister.

Yommy - Glad you had a great day with your boys.

Blissa - Hope you are feeling a lot better.

Talk later. xxx

YommyMommy · 12/04/2010 20:46

Evening Ladies,

Hope you are all well!!

Kildare - your poor DS! That must have hurt!!! Glad he is okay though!!! Lucky you having DC back at school and pre school! We still have another week off this end!

Had another wonderful day at the park with the boys! You are right about the weather kildare - sunshine def helps with my anxiety!! Long may it last!!

Well I am off to bed - have a sore throat tonight - but hoping its just tirdness - had a crappy sleep last night with DS2 up with his teeth

my HA is very bad right now .

thanks

YommyMommy · 13/04/2010 18:02

Hi choclab,

Welcome to the thread! How are you feeling now??

What have been your main triggers today?? I find that when I have had a bad nights sleep, eat too much sugar, don't eat enough through the day and when I am on the run up to my period the anxiety always seems to feel worse!

Was it yesterday you had your panic in tesco?? Having a bad day can really make you feel down.

Are you still feeling really teary??

I'm around now if you want to chat x x x

kildare34 · 13/04/2010 18:19

Evening everyone! Choclab - Of course you can join our club, we are all in the same boat and hopefully we can all support you.

I have just read your last post on the other thread, I and others have so been there and continue to be here!. I would suggest from one who has learnt the hard way, stop googling symptoms, don't look at hospital dramas/sad documentaries (I am being serious!)don't buy magazines with real life health stories, watch just one news a day.

Now the above is not going to 'fix you' but as you say yourself you are very low and you need to try and take the simple anxities out of your life. Regarding your moles re the previous thread, more than likely this particular one is fine. Ok?

What I want you to do is go and make the appointment with your GP and talk to him about how you are feeling right now and your concerns about ADs. By the way I am not trying to promote ADs onto you, I promise I have no agenda.

This will get better but you need to say enough is enough. Right I am getting off my soapbox.

How's everyone else? Weather continues to be lovely. I am going to my therapist this evening so I could be on this thread tomorrow crying or happy as a pig in shite! xxx

kildare34 · 13/04/2010 18:24

Evening Yommy I didn't see you there. My last post took about half hour to type as my dc and their friends are in and out of the house looking for ice-creams/telling on each other etc!!! I'm like a flippin yo-yo at the moment. Hope you are well. x

choclab · 13/04/2010 20:54

Hi and Thank you for warm welcome ..

i dont know where to start , im feeling so low right now and today has been horrid ... my HA has been worse than ever ,
im convinced i have SC ...and cant stop this fear ...iwant to cry most of the time today ,
if you have read my thread on dodgy moles you can see how i can be ... and my worry ....

any advice please , thank you , anyone els felt the same with health issues ?

YommyMommy · 13/04/2010 21:29

Hey choclab,

Sorry you having such a bad day Please try to think positive thoughts! I had a read at your post on the moles and the mole that you described to me sounds totally fine! The main things they tel you to check for on moles are itchyness, rough edges and colour change and bleeding. The mole you describe sounds fine - honesty! I like you have a lot of moles, especially on my back! I recently had one removed below my eye - not because they were worried about it, but it looked a bit unsightly!

Friday will be here before you know it and they doctor will be able to put your mind at rest!!!

Until then find something to distract yourself!!! Do things you enjoy and not things that stress you out!

What ages are your DC?? x x x
