Evening Girls,

Feeling a little frustrated with myself today as I am thinking that the anxiety is getting worse again, but not actually sure if it is! I feel like I really don't want to go anywhere alone, but I force myself to go then feel fine when I am there! I am really not sure if this is every going to go away! Which makes me really sad! I really, really want to do thing take the boys loads of places, but I'm so scared that something will happen that I don't! WTF is that all about??? Just peed off with anxiety today

Other than all that I have had a pretty good day! Went to coffee morning this morning then to tesco this afternoon. Nothing too exciting, but beats being stuck in the house!

What should i do girls? Do you all feel this way from time to time?? I keep thinking maybe med is the final barrier, but really don;t want to go down that route! The alternative is feeling like this forever I seriously just want my old F***g life back! Argh!!!!!!!

Sorry for the moan - sigh!

Hope you are all well!

Oh Yommy, sorry to hear your anxiety seems to be creaping back up again. When I am in a panic about leaving the house (as happens far to often) I have to sit down and remind myself that I don't HAVE to go anywhere, I CAN just sit here, I think we pile the pressure on as parents, children can be really happy vegging and doing very little.
The other thing my counsellor keeps telling me that anxiety reactions are often your body is trying to nudge you that you have taken on too much.

If you want to stay away from meds then do - all I can say is that once I had taken that first pill (and cried because I thought it meant that I was truly a nutcase) I felt like I had regained some control.

Deep breaths, sounds like the rest of your day was better

blissa · 25/09/2009 23:12

I still get like that Yommy, it's very frustrating isn't it. I've even started having to unlock the back door when I'm at home alone in case anything happens to me so that people can get in!

What Greyskull says is very true, we don't have to pressurise ourselves to do anything. It sounds like you over came it today, going to Tesco etc-well done.

You've had a lot on lately, especially with the boys being poorly and not sleeping well, I know I feel worse when I've not had enough sleep.

Something my counsellor has suggested is tricking our minds into feeling a different way. So if you are feeling anxious ask yourself what is the opposite of anxious-calm. How would it feel to be calm? And so on.

Speak to you tomorrow xx

Hope you had a god day Greyskull xx

blissa · 25/09/2009 23:13

Or even a good day

blissa · 26/09/2009 10:25

Morning all

How are you feeling today Yommy?

I have to take ds to a party in an hour and stay for the duration- 3 hours! Not looking forward to it.

Dp is being sick again?? Not sure what is going on with him. I've mentioned the drs but dp thinks it's just a bug.

Hope everyone is ok x

YommyMommy · 26/09/2009 13:55

Hi Girls,

I am feeling better today, thanks Blissa! I have been into town - on my own (well with boys in tow) - Needed to try to get DS#s shoes for the winter, but clarks in our town is really small and never had anything i like in their sizes! Never had much at all to be honest! so I have ordered on line to get them sent to the store!

All in all I am feeling more positive today

A three hour party - sounds like a nightmare! lol! Who has partys that last 3 hours??? Thats a bit much for anyone, don;t you think??? For a kids party I mean!

How is everyone else! Hope u all have a good weekend x x x

blissa · 26/09/2009 18:35

Yes Yommy it was a bit much! All the kids had had enough after a couple of hours, especially my ds! They all mostly enjoyed it though. Came home afterwards and I fell asleep on the sofa!

Glad you are feeling better today, well done for doing shoes on a saturday. Clarkes is always a nightmare. My dcs all have wide feet, Gs and Hs, but they never have the right sizes and try to fob me off with half a size bigger!

Looking forward to X Factor later and a couple of glasses of wine
xx

morning ladies,

Hope your Sundays went well.
Blissa hope you DH is better, and that the rest of your weekend was a bit quieter

I hate shoe shopping for the boys, why do they say "which style do you like?" my reply is always show me what you have in that size, it is usually one or two pairs have loved shopping online on the startright sight, we get measured in John Lewis then order on line.

So my cake was crap, I have never been so cross about a cake, I didn't want payment for it but she insisted that she paid me the full amount, she said it was great but I have been so upset about it for the last couple of days.

AND my lady is poorly so I can't go and have my monday session with her today.. I feel awful that I am cross with her for being ill and SO selfish, I need her how dare she be ill - I KNOW this isn't fair or rational, I will be fine waiting a week but I had a difficult week last week and could really do with seeing her.
Anyway, now have Monday morning free so am going to have a bath and wash my hair.

YommyMommy · 28/09/2009 10:11

Hi Girls,

Hope u all had a weekend!

BTP, don;t be so hard on yourslef! I bet the lady was more than happy with the cake, otherwise she might have accepted you offer of a free cake???? Britain are a nation of moaners and u can be sure when people are not happy they will let you know about it! By the looks of your cakes you are a bit of a perfectionist, and NOTHING less will do??? I am a little like that myself :D I bet the cake was grand! Do you have any pics??? Sorry to hear that ur lady is off ill today Before u know it monday will be around again!!! Enjoy you morning off, totally relaxation in the bath :D

I got soaked on the nursery run this morning, and have to do it all agin at 11, lol! The weather is pants! I am going to meet my mum today for lunch! Fancy something really tasty like steak pie! Yum! The going to take the kids to soft play in the afternoon! My chest is a bit sore this morning, but feeling okay other than that!

Hope you all have a good day x x x

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 28/09/2009 10:33

OOh steak pie, I love steak pie ad mash... may have to make one this week

Thanks for the kind words, will put some picutres up when I have downloaded them from the camera.

blissa · 28/09/2009 11:13

Morning girls

I'll second what Yommy said Greyskull, it sounds like the lady was very happy with the cake, otherwise she wouldn't have paid for it. All your cakes look so amazing, maybe this one just wasn't as amazing in your eyes and that is why you weren't happy with it? I haven't got my session this week either I think my lady might be on holiday.

Lunch sounds yummy Yommy. Enjoy your afternoon.

My chest's been feeling a bit tight the last couple of days. I have a bit of a cough so it could be that? I feel absoulely knackared this morning. It's my own fault I stayed up until nearly 1am saturday night watching the film Stepmom. Has anyone seen it? I ended up sobbing at the end. And then last night I stayed up to watch Dirty Dancing- God that man was lurvley!

I've had a long hot soak in the bath too this morning and have just made myself a coffee to try and wake myself up a bit!

YommyMommy · 28/09/2009 17:13

at all the long soaks in the bath, lol! I hardly get time for a shower with the boys and even if I can have a bath DS1 alwasy climbs in to join me!

Went out for lunch and did habe steak pie, it was v, v nice!!! Not long in went into town then up to my mums of a cuppa - only to discover she had no milk

Blissa, you chest will def be tight due to the cough to try not to worry about it too much! Hope you are feeling a little less tired! Who is in the film stepmum? Think I might have seen it, but not sure! I watch the wedding planned last night, well the first 5 mins then fell asleep!

Hi to everyone else, hope you have all had a good day x x x

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 28/09/2009 17:22

I think step mom has the julia roberts and Susan Sarandon, and SS is diagnosed with cancer .. I think.... is that the right one Blissa? I cried at this film.

Didn't get a bath in the end, remembered thankfully that had invited a friend round for coffee and lunch so there was no time. will have a bath once the boys are in bed.

blissa · 28/09/2009 18:00

That's the one Greyskull! At the end when it's their last Christmas and she gives them the presents she's made for them and the little boy says he doesn't want to say good bye to her- oh it got me!

Glad you had a good lunch Yommy. I've just got back from dd1s extra ballet lesson and so have just thrown a corned beef hash in the oven. Have felt a bit jittery this afternoon, I am concentrating on my chest- don't like it!!

YommyMommy · 29/09/2009 12:15

Morning Girls!

How are you all feeling today?? I feel terrible today - think i've cought you cold Blissa I can;t heat up n my body is all sore Never mind the nursery run is done and my aunt has taken DS2 for the afternoon. trying to talk DS1 into going back to mummys bed n watching a DVD, but he's having none of it, ha ha!!!

How are you feeling today Blissa?? Hope ur chest is feeling less tight today!

I haven;t seen the film stepmom, which I am glad about as I would have been blabbing! I watched a video clip on Baby P thismorning and ended up crying at that! How can people be so bloody cruel???

Hope u area all having a good day?!

blissa · 29/09/2009 13:03

Sorry Yommy, but I do like to share

Chest still a bit tight today but so are all the muscles in my back and shoulders so it is just all that playing up again. Feeling calmer today.

Have you had some tablets? I hate it when I can't get warm, I am often to be found wearing my dressing gown over my clothes in the house!

I've shed a few tears over Baby P, it's just beyond belief what some people are capable of.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

YommyMommy · 29/09/2009 20:47

Evening Girls,

Glad you are feeling more relaxed today!

I am feeling a lit better tonight too! Took some para's at lunch time and put the heating up. Had a fairly relaxed afternoon

Hope everyone else is well! Going for an early night

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 29/09/2009 23:09

evening ladies,
have been out babysitting for a friend,
Yommy, good to hear you are feeling a bit better this evening, wishing you a good nights sleep and then hopefully you will feel even better in the morning.

Blissa do you know any relaxing stretches or breathing exercises that could help relax your chest a bit? Great to hear you are feeling calmer today. Hope the end of your day was just as calm.

am wibbling this evening, got to go to bed but know that I haven't had enough to eat today so will be awake hungry in the night, can't eat anything now as it is too late and will be up with indigestion.. my nightmares are worst if I find it hard to get to sleep or get back to sleep when I have woken up.. not sure what to do, may make myself a hot chocolate and hope that does the trick for feeling that I have eaten.

Sleep well ladies,

YommyMommy · 30/09/2009 10:13

Morning Ladie,

I am feeling great this morning Had a fantastic nights sleep last night. Bot boys slept right through the night without waking until DS2 got up at 7 this morning! Can;t complain about that!!!

The weather is still pretty crappy today, so not sure what we will get to do today! Maybe do the bunny park if it brightens up a little!

BTP, hope u got a good nights sleep last night. I get like that too if I am too hungry when I go to bed!

Blissa - hope you are feeling better today too!

Hope everyone else is well

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 30/09/2009 10:52

morning Yommy - great to hear that you had a good nights sleep
we are having a home blessing day (ala fly lady) spending 10-15 minutes blitzing different areas of the house. then this afternoon got to do some ironing, the mountain behind the sofa is getting bigger and bigger

need to go and eat something so that I don't end up in the same position tonight about not having eaten!

blissa · 30/09/2009 11:12

Did you sleep ok Greyskull? I did try a Yoga dvd the last time I got like this and it seemed to help a bit, don't think I'll have time for it today. I don't understand why it keeps happening, the last time was whilst I was still on warfarin and so I put it down to that. I haven't done anything strenuous (sp?)

Are you on the Flying threads? I joined the baby steps september thread and it has helped with the clutter in the house! We're not feeling ready to join the big girls threads yet so are continuing with a fledgling thread tomorrow!

Glad you are feeling good today Yommy! Well done to the boys, hope it happens again tonight. Weather is pants here too.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 30/09/2009 12:26

have been on the flythread for a few years but am lapsed at the moment, they are all so lovely but each time I get onto the computer I feel I start moaning about how shit I am ATM and it doesn't seem the right place. so I do it here instead!

Mouette · 30/09/2009 17:57

Can I join? I have been feeling increasingly anxious over the past couple of weeks, can't really understand why. After 18 months of trying, fertility treatment, a late mc, a difficult pregnancy and birth, I finally have a beautiful son who is now 6 months old and is a very easy baby. I ought to be happy but find myself worrying a lot, mainly about my blood pressure (it's a bit high since the birth, I now have to take tablets and measure it myself, but when I'm very anxious obviously it's high which worries me even more...) but also about silly things like will I be able to feed DS OK now he's started solids. I'm no cook. I guess I'm feeling a bit lonely too, I find it hard to make new friends with children - it's not so easy, especially in London where as a rule we don't talk to strangers. Does it get better by itself? Should I consider counselling? Am feeling sad and a bit guilty. I have thought about returning to work earlier but DS is still so small and it might make things worse?

YommyMommy · 30/09/2009 19:19

Hi Ladies,

Welcome Mouette - of course you can join! Sorry you have been feeling crappy! Not sure if anxiety can get better in its own! Depends how bad it is I guess! If it is starting to take over your life, then I would def go speak to your GP or HV! You might not need any other intervention, but they will be in a better position to tell that! In the mean time feel free to post here n we'll get you through the crappy days as best we can

WJusta quick post, will post later when DS's are in bed
