The running definately definately helps the anxiety! Really does. It was part of my treatment from my counsellor and docs. The deal was that if I ran I could stay off the meds!
I ran /run every other day. Counsellor says that it releases endorphins and seratonin into my body, the same as what the meds replicate. I am also getting out my door in public (!)- a big issue for a while. It also uses up the spare adrenaline - this is what was causing my constantly shaky hands and jelly legs.
My jeans are now baggy, and my boobs shrunk two cup sized in the last few weeks. I am usually a 14/16, but would say i am not far off a 12 now. And my legs are toned, and my tum shrunk!
You should try it! I won't say its easy - I'm not a 'natural' runner - the first 3
miles are the worst! Takes a while for my breathing to settle, and get my legs in a pattern! I started walk a min run a min. I slowed right down and the distance increased!
The only down side is that my face is bright red when I finish!
Great North Run (13 miles) is Sunday 20 Sept - it will be on tele! I will prob put some pics on facebook, not here - like to remain anonymous cos you never know whos on that knows me! It's nice have the anonymity of you lot! Do you go on facebook?
Blissa, hope you are ok? You really are suffereing these last few weeks, hope it's settling down?
I am sat in pj having a cuppa and a hot sausage roll!
