Hello ladies,

As we seem to have reached our limit on the other thread, I thought I had better start a new one!!

We have the 'positive' one started by our lovely BB - so I suggest we keep this as the 'anxious' one (i.e. the one where we can all say "OMG, it said on the news that someone v-d 200 miles away from me - am I going to catch it?!") We can share our worries, however silly they sound, without undoing the good work on the other thread. What do you all think?

I shall start off by saying that every time DD speaks, I think she's going to say she feels sick!!!

Now that really is neurotic...

hey all

hope everyone is well x is anyone else worried about swine flu the sickness part???? really worried x

wiggleit · 04/05/2009 21:52

Hi mt3 - I haven't heard about the sicky part to the swine flu so have to say i'm not overly concerned with it as i think the chances of getting it are quite remote in the big scheme of things, at the moment anyway. I would be more worried if someone local got it i suppose. Try not to concern yourself too much with it because the media love to hype things up and get everyone in a panic.

How is everyone? It's gone quiet on here lately..can only be a good thing! Hopefully!

Hugs xx

naturopath · 04/05/2009 23:38

Hi mumtoo3, I can't remember if I've posted on here before, but I'm absolutely terrified about the sickness part of swine flu. And a quick glance of the child health section on here indicates that there is some kind of otehr sickness bug going around again. I am so scared - it's occupying all of my thought-space.. and I really don;t have time for that (am pg, with a toddler and work full time).. I don't know what to do - feel like I'm going a bit crazy with it.

LadyTopaz · 05/05/2009 04:00

Hi im new here, Im worried about swine flu as well, just when I thought the winter seasons when im fearful of catching a sickness bug is over a new superbug is coming - and they say we might not need to be worried in the summer but come the winter it could mingle into a hybrid with the common flu :-(

However im still more worried about myself on a day to day basis, keeping my anxiety in check and hoping i dont v while all my concerns whirl round my head keeping me up at night. Sigh. I must get to bed its 4am and ill have 2 be up in 4hrs... :-(

BB - you're joking about Tamiflu. Aren't you?

You're right about worrying not changing anything. Doesn't stop us doing it, but it's absolutely true!

PS Welcome, Topaz!

wiggleit · 06/05/2009 14:34

Hi all. How are we doing today?

mt3 - are you feeling a bit better about the swine flu? hope so. try not to rise to all the hype. I have to say i will be more worried about it in the winter months though.

bb - you are always so positive! Luv u! Tis true worrying about things won't change the outcome and i try to remember that and all the other positive stuff you tell us!It's so easy to worry though! Have to say i'm not that worried about the swine flu just yet. Have enough to worry about without adding another illness!

Hi Naturopath and LadyTopaz, have jsut said hi to you on the other thread too! Hope you are ok.

Hugs to all xx

I can't believe it DS friend came round on Sunday with his Mum. Was crying saying he felt sick as he entered the house and then V. AAAAAAAARG Hi sMum said i thought he wasn't well. I am so annoyed and stressed

sianyy · 06/05/2009 15:46

eeeek so scared about swine flu! my friend from college says her little sister's best friend has just got back from mexico.. that sounds promising! but as belgianbun said i'm more worried about the side effects of tamiflu than the symptoms of the flu! speaking of side effects.. just been given metronidazole (otherwise known as flagyl) for a wisdom tooth infection.. and after looking it up on the internet i am terrified to see how many people got an upset stomach from it! i've only taken one tablet so far, about 3 hours ago, and nothing seems to have happened yet but i'm too scared to leave the house now! eep!

hope everyone is okay.x

mumtoo3 · 06/05/2009 20:51

Hope all is well with everyone! hugs xx

MUMMAM · 18/09/2009 14:33

Hi, is there a group that one can go to in the west berkshire area to chat face to face about this?

pingapengin · 24/09/2009 16:15

Hello, can i jon please?

Im sending myself loopy with anxiety attacks about sick..

naturopath · 24/09/2009 21:59

Hi all - just posted my 'aanxiety' on the 'postive' thread - so here it is again in its proper place.

hello everyone. Well, the dreaded September is upon us, and I picked up ds1 (aged 2) from nursery today where they said "oh, just now, he had some terrible diarrohea" - cue my panic. Teacher said "oh, I'm sure he's not ill - he's probably just teething", but of course I'm terrified.

He also said he didn't feel well, although has otherwise been ok. I'm just so scared he;s going to wake up in the night having been sick. And dh is working late. Have already been crying half the evening. GP hasn't come through with referral to therapist yesterday.

Everyone - I understand your terror at this season! I am genuinely thinking of emigrating to avoid it.

wiggleit · 27/09/2009 19:43

Hi all!

Naturopath - i have just posted on the other thread too. How are things? It is such a worry isn't it? We are approaching the worst time of year now and i dread it. I would emigrate tomorrow if it was at all possible!

Hello pingapengin - how are you? welcome to this thread. I hope you find comfort on here.

Hi to everyone! Hugs xx

spinDottoressa · 28/09/2009 21:26

Hello!!!

Welcome, Pinga. If you find comfort anywhere, it will be here!

Wiggle - nice to see you .

Naturopath, how's your DS?

There's a notice up in DD's school nursery saying that there's a 'very nasty stomach bug' doing the rounds, and reminding parents to keep children off school for 48 hours if they have d and/or v. Argh.

My therapy has ended as we are moving cities. So I have to go on a new waiting list once we've moved. Boo. I can't say it's done much good thus far, but I'm prepared to keep trying.

V-free hugs to all.

spinDottoressa · 28/09/2009 21:27

PS Mummam - I'm afraid I don't know anything about groups in particular areas. Sorry! If you can pluck up the courage, it might be worth consulting your GP to see if you can be referred for therapy?

wiggleit · 29/09/2009 18:06

Hi!

Dott - oh no about the 'very nasty stomach bug' doing the rounds..aargghh! Thinking of you!

Sorry to hear that you don't feel you have got much out of your therapy. I was the same when i had it years ago, i didn't get much out of it. I thought things might have changed a bit by now. Maybe you will have more success when you move?

hi to everyone! xx

CaptainRex · 29/09/2009 19:22

Hiya folks. Well so far, still no symptoms. Hope its the same for all you folks.

But I was getting ready for my 2nd CBT appointment tomorrow, when the lady called, to ask why I had missed my appointment today. I feel such a stupid person for getting the days wron. Especially after she warned me last week that missing appointments was viewed badly and I could be signed off if I missed two in a row for no reason.

naturopath · 06/10/2009 20:52

hi all - sorry for the repeat from the other thread, but:

  1. I apologise for posting in a state of mild panic and then not coming back until now to update / read your messages. It has been quite a trying couple of weeks looking after a toddler and 2-month-old baby. It is my new resolution to actually try and be supportive of others on here from now on (and on the other thread), rather than just post when I'm having a bad day.
  1. In the end, the diarrhoea was indeed, just a bit of diarrhoea - nothing else. It was ok.
  1. However, as ds1 was a teeny bit sick this morning. ds2 also vomited up one whole feed.

ok, so this is the thread for the anxious thoughts.. well, I think I'm doing ok for now. but I'm so scared he'll wake up in the night having been sick. He said he didn't feel well before he went to bed - but he may have been picking up on whatever I have said today (e'g' to my mum on the phone).. so I may be posting here in tears later.

dottoressa - that would really scare me. poor you!

I'm really trying my best to use the principles of CBT that I learned when I had it for general depression a few years ago. Has it worked for anyone for this phobia?

stressedbutluvem · 07/10/2009 22:33

Probably the wrong place to put this becuse I know what the answer is amongst us. Why are the "normal" people soooo very stupid. My parents next door neighbour has a 1 year old.She is very nice and very laid back (I wish) is very good to my DS1 who goes into see her and the little one frequently. Anyway I go to bring DS1 and 2 home from playing at grandparents on Monday tea time and DS1 announces the worst regarding the 1 year old next door.I wont spell it out. I ask if she has let him (my DS1)go in despite this and he says yes. I know I shouldnt react in this way to a four year old but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh how stupid is she? so now its that ever so frequent 72 hour count down again. You all now how I felt at 4.45 this morning when he came in to ask if it was time for school yet and then got in our bed.Bye bye sleep hello anxoius every breath adn movement. So yep Im really rather knackered especially as DS2 was generally sad and weary and off his food this morning (but seems ok now so big sigh of relief) Has anyone heard of anyone who has been cured of this?

SpinDottoressa · 09/10/2009 16:35

Hello Stressed! I have no idea, but I feel for you. I hope your children are okay.

Naturopath - thanks for the update. How are you and the children now?
