thumbwitch that sounds very relaxing.i love the idea of that.its like escaping your mind i guess?we used to do something similar in drama and at one point you would almost feeling your arms falling away and behind you like they were dangling?does that make sense?

i didnt manage to get anything today.too stressed on the way and too upset on the way home.weather permitting ill go out tomorrow.well ill see how i feel if im honest.

at least ive done my 3 'things' the last few days

needsupport · 06/09/2008 00:11

night psycho.hope it stays dry tonight for you xxxxxx

frankbestfriend · 06/09/2008 00:13

Goodnight ns, hope the morning will find you in a positive frame of mind xx

thumbwitch · 06/09/2008 00:21

brilliant, if you've done something similar before then it will be so much easier for you to do it again. Yes, the feeling you describe makes a lot of sense - and it is a form of self-hypnosis - in NLP terms, it is called "trancing" (i.e. inducing a trance-like state) so yes, it is a form of escapism from your conscious mind.

If you don't feel up to going out, then you have other choices - Amazon is always useful for on-line shopping for e.g. MP3 players (there are probably better deals elsewhere but that's one option); or you could send your mum out with a shopping list. Do you have a Holland and Barrett near you? Or another health food shop? Even some chemists sell Bach Rescue remedy, so she could try them. While she's at it, get her to buy you some essential oils as well (and an oil burner and some candles if you haven't already got them):
mandarin
roman chamomile
lavender
basil

These can be used together or individually in an oil burner to help with stress/ anxiety/ insomnia/ anger/ depression etc.
The ratio you would need to use them in is:
mandarin 10 drops
roman chamomile 3 drops
lavender 7 drops
basil 2 drops

None of them will interfere with your meds so you don't need to worry about that.

oh thankyou for all this!
theres a chemist a short walk from here so ill send mum out if im not up to it.although i do need to keep doing my 3 'things'

ive got a white candle here which ive lit.someone once said it was good to light one.but cant remember the reason

thumbwitch · 06/09/2008 00:41

leave a little light shining in the darkness - it gives hope and comfort to your soul. A little light is stronger than a whole heap of darkness, remember that.

have you had a sweet drink? You need to replace the sugar (this is not physiologically absolutely true, but hey! why argue!!) so that your shock feelings recede. If you make your own, does that count as one of your 3 things?

OP posts:
needsupport · 06/09/2008 00:51

no my 3 'things' are walking talking and a bit of sleep.

no sweet drink.am thick and didnt organise flask i have polos??

thumbwitch · 06/09/2008 00:56

well, they have a bit of sweetness in them so give that a go.

Explain again why you can't get yourself a drink - is it because you don't want to wake your mum up while you're getting it, or you just don't feel up to getting it? Or that you can't leave j to go and fetch one?

Are NOT thick at all, just had a stressful day which means amnesia is a perfectly normal response under current circs.

I think, if it were me, I would risk waking my mum up by getting a drink, if that is the only problem. Obviously the other 2 are a bit harder to combat!

OP posts:
needsupport · 06/09/2008 01:01

well the thing is that im shit scared of the dark.mum sleeps in the dark and i cant walk into darknessand if i go down and throw the light on she will freak!
js never slept in darkness

thumbwitch · 06/09/2008 01:08

aha, THAT's why you have the candle! Take it with you!

I totally understand that issue, from both sides. The candle will do the job but maybe your mum could also add a torch to her shopping list - it seems a bit of a shame that once she has gone to sleep you are effectively trapped and can't get things you might need. Doesn't help the situation any.

Do you have nightlight plugs? they could help, light the way for you and they wouldn't interfere with your mum's sleeping.

Or, another idea for tomorrow, get another kettle and keep it in your room so you can make late night drinks for yourself. (obviously need tea/ chocolate/ milk/ mugs/ sugar/ spoon etc as well!)

Anyway sweetness, I have to go to bed now cos the tiredness has suddenly hit and am yawning fit to bust - hope you get some good rest, try the meditation/ relaxation thingies and hopefully you'll drop off while listening to them.

Nighty night, love and light to you all (I think your mum needs it too...)

morning Sweetness..
no posts since 1.30 - does that mean you had some sleep?
I really hope so.
The things Thumbwitch said sound really helpful - a little trip to the shops for your mum by the sound of it

bellavita · 06/09/2008 09:43

morning ns, hope you wake up feeling refreshed.

needsupport · 06/09/2008 09:49

i slept until 6 this morning but now have shocking headache

differentID · 06/09/2008 10:05

morning cvq, sorry I wasn't around for you last night, but i'm glad to see you had lots of other people for you. I'm not surprised you have a headache- your stress levels have been constatntly through the roof this week, it's normal, but still crap. Do you have any plans for the day?

Ready4anotherCoffee · 06/09/2008 10:13

morning cvq, sorry about the headache. have you mobilised your mum to the shops yet?

needsupport · 06/09/2008 10:13

not sure what were doing today.i want to get some of that rescue remedy so ill go walking later.ive just got back in bed

Ready4anotherCoffee · 06/09/2008 10:15

rescue remedy is fab. looking out the window i think bed is the best place. I'm gonna get soaked doing the shop later.

differentID · 06/09/2008 10:17

bed is good! bed is very good

I only got up 1/2 and hour ago. SHH. don't tell anyone else.

MatNanPlus · 06/09/2008 10:17

Morning NS

That was a great sleep, hope the headache goes away, that is the sleep hangover mentioned last night as your body hasn't had long sleeps for a while.

Could you use a torch to go to make drinks when ypur mum is asleep?

needsupport · 06/09/2008 10:18

in my defence i am trying to get j to sleep

Ready4anotherCoffee · 06/09/2008 10:20

well that's it, you'll have to stay put.

If you move you might wake him.

That's a good idea about a kettle etc in your room. don't forget a pack of choccy biccies, very good for relaxation.

needsupport · 06/09/2008 10:22

nooooooooooooo cant use torches or candles.it has to be proper light or i cant walk.i freeze
if i can get a flask ill use that.i might get one at the hardware shop.its near the chemist.
