Yes I'm questioning my sanity! Can it really be worth that much? I the the rate assumes private medical insurance. I just want someone good but there's no guarantees. If only I could just fix myself!!!!

Helplessandheartbroke · 30/08/2024 23:51

Is anyone on tonight? Feeling quite shit

I’m sorry @Helplessandheartbroke how are you doing now ?
@MsGoodenough how are you doing as welll ?

I’ve been feeling a bit off this weekend but was late taking my sertraline Friday and Saturday so hoping it’s due to that and not because it’s not working . Also got an issue with my car and stuff like that makes me really anxious .

Cien75 · 01/09/2024 18:20

Sorry for I missed those posts- @Helplessandheartbroke how are you now ? I know alcohol make me feel way worse after but great at the time.
@MsGoodenough how are you today.
Im a bit flat today works been quite stressful last week or so this happens every now and then.
silly though it sounds am just fussing my cats and planning a soak in the bath small things to uplift me.

Helplessandheartbroke · 01/09/2024 18:55

@popandchoc sorry you've been deflated too. It's always worrying when things pop up that need fixing and cars can be an expensive fix!

@Cien75 I'm currently in the bath its always my go too.

I've had my SIL ddog this week and it brought back a lot of emotions for me. Missing my ddog and the guilt I feel over things I should have done for him. I think that's played a big part for me x

Helpless, Good Enough, how are you both doing today? Do you know what set off the lows you experienced? I hope you both feel a bit better today.

Hi all, its been a while since I've commented. Im now on 15mg escitalopram upped a few days ago couldn't wake up this morning, feeling physically unwell which is taking a toll on the anxiety. Whenever I look to the future I'm just filled with fear. I absolutely hate mental health.

You may be adjusting to the new dose. Can you keep a record of side effects and see how you go over the next 2 weeks?

popandchoc · 02/09/2024 13:51

Still feeling off today . Feeling on edge and anxious . Think it’s a mix of work , car issues and then the kids going back to school this week. Have a drs appointment next week to review the sertraline so will see if this continues this week and what they say .

@hk1993x hopefully it’s just side effects and starts to settle soon . Mental health issues are horrible . Wish we all didn’t have them .

JamSandle · 02/09/2024 14:03

There's a lot going on in life it sounds like. I find it hard keeping on top of modern adult life especially with generalised anxiety disorder.

One step at a time x

snowfoxglove · 02/09/2024 15:12

I completely disagree on comment that no support makes us stronger. People who do best in life are people with good social support.

A lot of people on MN (including me) have "support" that's actually a burden, and in that case it's better to be left alone than with someone who drains you.

MN is not the best site for connecting with friends because a lot of it (i.e. AIBU) is about these completely moot discussions where nobody connects with each other.

It is possible to get support in the moment yes, but long-term friendships -- other than this thread, I didn't really witness happen.

snowfoxglove · 02/09/2024 15:22

@MsGoodenough Too expensive. If you can afford that kind of money it might be a better idea to invest it in yourself every month with something that makes you happy or look into Peer Support (people who already went through what you're going through).

When I was looking into therapy, this posh lady told me it's 75 £ per 45 minutes 🤣 I was like, aw babe jog on 👋😂

Like @Helplessandheartbroke I don't talk to people IRL about my issues. That helps me have a break from my problems and be a different person than someone who is struggling all the time. Sometimes talking to people who are wrong for you makes you feel weaker and like you just got more problems.

snowfoxglove · 02/09/2024 15:39

I wish we could have a brew and a nice chat @Helplessandheartbroke and I'm sorry I wasn't online on the 30th. I've been doing better but of course I have been setbacks.

We're going to be with you. Most profound things I learned on this thread.

Did you hear of Dr Julie Smith? She has a lot of welldone videos on Youtube and TikTok about MH.

She spoke how she witnessed, as a certified psychologist, a lot of people recover but it was almost never linear, setbacks are completely normal. Thinking of you and sending hugs to everyone on here xx

Hi all,

sorry I’ve not been on in a while and there’s too many of you now to mention but I hope everyone is ok?

feeling very anxious today, just overwhelmed with life in general I think, kids going back to school/ nursery, work, juggling home life etc etc! Hoping it will pass as finding it hard to concentrate and not let my worries spiral today… 😔

Life can get really overwhelming sometimes. I know. What's your one key goal or priority for the day?

Cien75 · 09/09/2024 14:54

Hi @Whycantgiraffesdance sorry to hear your feeling anxious. It’s true that life can be overwhelming at times and definitely the balance between work and home life can create stress.
Did you just go back to work ?

Hope rest of us are ok. This place is respite

Whycantgiraffesdance · 09/09/2024 19:26

@JamSandle my main goal for the day was just getting through it without breaking down which I did! Feel a bit calmer now the kids are in bed and I’m just watching some tv, mornings are still worse for me.

@Cien75 no nog just gone back but there are some changes happening which always makes me anxious!

Thank you both, how are u today? X

popandchoc · 09/09/2024 20:06

@Whycantgiraffesdance it is tough getting back into everything and can feel very overwhelming. Take it easy on yourself and celebrate whatever you manage to achieve .

I have been feeling more calm last few days which is good. Am having some issues with my 13 year old daughter who is also suffering from anxiety now. She feels really nervous going to school which is hard to see her go through. I am speaking to a young person mental health person at the drs tomorrow as she seems to have what i think is ocd tendencies as well which get worse when she is anxious.

Ah I hope your daughter gets the help she needs, my anxiety started when I was about her age so I can sympathise! x

I was doing okay and then started my new university course today. I am doing midwifery and keep thinking back to paramedics and have I made a mistake in changing? It was a new environment and new people who I didn't know so sat myself most of today. Came home and feel really anxious and on edge and teary 🥹

MsGoodenough · 10/09/2024 17:16

Hello all. I'm in a bad way. Expectations lowered to being alive at the end of the day. That has helped actually as I feel I've achieved something each day. I am back at school and ran out of a lesson in a panic today. Can't cope. But don't want to be signed off as worse at home. Feeling bleak. Trying to take one day at a time.

Give yourself some credit for getting through the first day of your new course. You’ve come a long way in the last few months and you should be proud of yourself. Onwards and upwards xx

Sometimes those lowered milestones are really helpful. Getting through a day and still being here when you're struggling IS a huge achievement. Taking one day at a time is a great approach. Do you know why you felt panicky today? ❤
