My dog saved my life yesterday

I have insurmountable problems. They really are insurmountable. Health issues , work issues , family issues and friend issues.

I rang Samaritans last night and even the volunteer said my plan was well thought through and I'd thought about everything. And i had . I had every last detail sorted.

Except my dog would not leave me . I tried to shut him in the kitchen with a note on the door , and he wouldn't stop crying and scratching to get back to me .
When I let him out he stuck to my side . He wouldn't let me go to the loo alone . He got into bed next to me . He got on my knee . He cuddled into my neck . He eventually got under the covers and made sure he was touching me all night .

So I couldn't do it . I couldn't bear the thought of him crying to get to me . So I'm still here . I hate my life so much but I can't leave him . He's absolutely the only reason I'm here today .

I’m so glad your dog was with you. He knows that, despite the struggles you are facing, the world would be a worse place without you in it.

Listen to your dog, he loves you and you matter. I hope you’re feeling a little brighter today Flowers

My baby bear died today . He was put to sleep , he'd been off it a couple of days and I thought he maybe had a water infection but he had a tumour in his spleen which was bleeding into his tummy . It would have burst .

So I'm without my big bear . I don't feel very much better. The house is bare and empty and my little dog is whining and searching for him .

I'm devastated.

He was beautiful and had been my life for 10 years. My protector. My best friend.

My heart hurts

He's gorgeous. 10 years old is, sadly, a good long life for a large breed like that. You obviously took very good care of him. He was lucky to have you.

Oh OP 😞

What a beautiful beautiful boy with such a caring spirit. He made sure you were ok - hold onto that, he wanted to make sure you were safe. Staying safe is the greatest tribute you can pay your good boy Flowers

OP he was such a lovely dog I’m so sorry for your loss. You gave him a wonderful life.

When you are struggling think of your little dog now, you are what he has left now and you are his whole world. He needs you. You can get each other through this together xx

Omg, how awful for you! 💐💐💐💐

salamirose · 05/12/2023 20:57

I'm so sorry. Take care

AdoraBell · 05/12/2023 21:04

Dogs are wonderful and your boy wants you. Keep talking to him, they are amazing listeners, and call your friend if needed.

AdoraBell · 05/12/2023 21:06

Sorry, I missed your last update. I’m sorry about your German Shepard. We lost two this year and it’s so hard.

Really sorry, but if you’ve got an advocate in PIP hearings you shouldn’t need a medical professional. I’ve had tribunal judges just wave away a medical judgment but grant my client’s appeal anyway.

It does tend to need someone like the person's own GP/consultant to say what the person is saying is probably accurate. Otherwise, anyone can say anything.

porridgeisbae · 05/12/2023 23:23

@mydogisagudboy @capabilityfrowns So sorry you lost one of your furbabies. You can't rely on creatures with short lives to keep you alive- you need to get professional help so you can properly sort the problem. Get as well as you can and you'll be an even better mum to any pets you have, too.

kittensinthekitchen · 06/12/2023 13:24

Ah that's heartbreaking. Sorry for the loss of your furry pal 😢

Saw my doc today who thinks I have multiple sclerosis. It would be a relief to know tbh .

squirrelnutkin10 · 08/12/2023 09:52
