However small.

For me it's making 2 phone calls (not to family/friends) because it's something I find hard and often put off doing.

Good luck @Duckduckgoosey.

I'm feeling a bit down (lonely) right now so popping in on the thread. Hoping I can get some sorting/tidying done at least this morning. Yesterday my one thing would've been cooking a meal we all liked.

Hi @HelloMist, hope you're doing ok today.

My one thing today is leaving the house in the face of some very anxious thinking Confused

Stuffragette · 07/10/2021 08:34

Hope you don't mind me joining. I am going to try and go to a yoga class. I'm in my leggings, I've booked the class. But who knows. I hope I go and not just sit in the car outside feeling anxious

AllySmelly · 07/10/2021 22:14

@Stuffragette how did you get on? If you didn't go... I hope you had a nice, lovely lay down instead x

AllySmelly · 07/10/2021 22:15

I got through a work thing. Yeah I took a beta blocker to do so but hey it's not cheating as far as I'm concerned.

TopCatsTopHat · 07/10/2021 22:17

My one thing was to finally calculate a difficult piece of information which to do I had to admit to my dh I was struggling and get his help. He responded well. Having got it I was able to contact a company for a quote we really need ASAP. Its a weight off my mind.

gluenotsoup · 07/10/2021 22:38

I sat and rested! Without feeling like I was being lazy and should be doing house jobs, but that it was ok to just sit and relax and all was still fine. Sounds rubbish written down, but I’m trying to prioritise myself a bit more.

This does not sound rubbish at all. There are lots of people that find it difficult to rest, but it is so important to do. So well done and I hope you get to do it more.

rainbowninja · 09/10/2021 10:13

I've brought my 7 year old daughter to a dance class, it's ridiculously close to my house but I'm still shaking 😅

HelloMist · 15/10/2021 22:49

checking in, I should more often.

Met a friend and had a good catch up today (years' worth!)

But the thing I'm most proud of is managing to move on after something that happened just before I set off for home. It would sound trivial to most people but knocked me and would usually have set my good mood back/upset me a lot. I used positive self-talk and music to try to shake it off and remind myself it didn't matter as much as it might seem. I got home OK and haven't let it cloud my afternoon/evening. :)

well done @rainbowninja! Did she enjoy it? Will she be going again? I get what you mean, have felt similarly after (driving to) classes for my DD.

I went swimming even though I was embarrassed to go as I'm overweight. I was really anxious but so pleased I went.
Lovely thread

rainbowninja · 16/10/2021 20:27

That's brilliant @Flufferty!

And thank you @HelloMist, yes she smiled all the way through it and we went back today. It still felt big but manageable so here's hoping I can build on it 👍🏻

Windows01 · 17/10/2021 07:28

Well done, swimming is such good exercise and a great feeling after. Do you think you'll go again?
Flufferty · 17/10/2021 15:05

@Windows01
Thank you. Yes, I've been again today. I'm even thinking of buying a membership!! I'm still not comfortable going but need to push myself. I feel really proud of myself for going back

Fluffybird · 18/10/2021 10:30

I've just found this thread, can I join? I need some positivity, I'm really struggling at the moment. Today I have managed to ring the doctors for a follow up appointment, and drive my children to school despite feeling like I couldn't.

honkytonkheroe · 18/10/2021 10:32

I’m going to tidy the house and make a cake. I haven’t yet got out of bed though. Blush

bubbleteatea · 18/10/2021 10:32

Saying no. I find it hard but it's so important in helping maintain a healthy life/work balance and keep anxiety at bay

HelloMist · 03/12/2021 11:48

I wanted to come back in case like me the cold weather and Covid variant news (or anything else) is getting to you at the moment.

@Fluffybird welcome, of course you can join! Good to have you here. Well done on phoning the doctor.

@bubbleteatea that's a good one. It's something I find hard in some situations too.

@honkytonkheroe did you make a cake? (If you can remember! I've been ill and didn't check on the thread).

My thing: don't feel like I've achieved much so far today Hmm, but yesterday I had a phone MH appointment that went alright, battled through car issues and chatted to a school mum newish to the area. Smile

Fluffybird · 08/12/2021 12:46

Hi @HelloMist, thanks for coming back and for the welcome.
My positive thing for today is having a to-do list that I'm actually getting through. I've been signed off work for a couple of months, and may be back next week so I'm trying to get Christmas done before that.
Well done for your achievements 🙂

HelloMist · 09/12/2021 18:31

@Fluffybird thank you! You're welcome. The To do list sounds good. Good luck for next week.

Today, I asked a mum and grandma whether it was their baby's socks nearby on the floor in the supermarket! Baby threw off her hat while I was trying to get their attention. Not sure if they went back to look but at least I tried.

completed the polygon in the Times.

batmanladybird · 10/12/2021 00:51

Today, I went to see a friend even though I didn't feel like it, checked in with some whatsapp friends and got my car cleaned

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 10/12/2021 00:54

I sorted out home insurance which including one phone call. Proud of myself for it as been putting it off.
