However small.

For me it's making 2 phone calls (not to family/friends) because it's something I find hard and often put off doing.

FMLpassthegin · 08/09/2021 23:19

The above was what I achieved today instead of doing something far more harmful. I'm taking that as progress

TonyThreePies · 08/09/2021 23:24

Another one who managed to walk the dog! Didn't get round to the washing up though. At least not yet.

SoloISland · 08/09/2021 23:30

Endured the day; life just now is a struggle as CFS/ME is in relapse. Managed to feed my cats and me, knitted a little... Seemingly small things that for me are arduous. Deeply thankful to be abed for the night now.

Anordinarymum · 08/09/2021 23:38

@SpittinKitten

Left the house today, the outside world's been feeling a bit too big recently .
Did you go far
SpittinKitten · 08/09/2021 23:49

Not hugely far @Anordinarymum , just to the park round the corner (although sometimes that feels like it's a million miles away). I'm really lucky to have it nearby - lots of open space and leafiness. It was pretty quiet when I went, which helps.
I really need to push myself to get outside more, I've managed to develop vitamin D deficiency this year 🤦‍♀️

That's not good. You will have muscle fatigue and aches in your bones.
HelloMist · 10/09/2021 09:16

Well done everyone. FlowersSmile

Any more today? We can carry on the post, glad it's helped a few of you! And actually it helps me to see that others might struggle with things people don't always acknowledge aloud.

@wigglywoowoo didn't realise it had a name. But keeping a Positive Data Log sounds a good idea. I'm on ADs at the moment but keep logs that are mostly about negative side effects or what time I took it.

@AlbertBridge your description makes me wish for billowing washing!

Mine from yesterday: I was feeling spontaneous and took DD somewhere after school. She had fun. Usually I don't have energy or think it'll be a good idea at that time.

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 10/09/2021 11:05

Spontaneous outings are the best as there is less time to worry about it!

Yesterday I spoke to my boss about some family issues and my work hours. I hate bringing it up but yesterday was a real struggle with DS and I couldnt go on like that.

No accomplishments so far today, I just cant wait for 5 o clock to come around to finish work!

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 11/09/2021 06:55

I drank sparkling water last night instead of alcohol and my head is clear today.

I started a new job and it went really well.

FlamingGoat · 11/09/2021 07:00

I ran my first half marathon up in the hills. Just me, the deer, total silence .
Much needed peace and time to think.

Name one thing you're proud of doing today
Olimar · 11/09/2021 09:21

I rang the crisis team phone number,, actually stayed on the phone, and spoke to someone I didn't know.

In the past I have not bothered to ring, or only dialled the number, or hung up when someone spoke. So this is progress I think. Not sure it's helped though.

Coffeeanddarkchoc · 11/09/2021 11:35

Congratulations @Invasionofthegutsnatchers

That looks so peaceful @FlamingGoat. A perfect way to clear your head.

Well done @Olimar thats a massive accomplishment. It is a step in the right direction. Its can be so draining for us to speak to people like that, hopefully in a little while you will feel better.

I have put away the washing that has been on the airer for over a week. Small accomplishment but when Im not feeling the best its the little things like that that get missed

rainbowninja · 12/09/2021 18:49

Great thread!

I'm glad it's not just me that finds telephone calls so hard.

I had a zoom meeting today which I had arranged with other students on a course I am doing. Seeing this thread makes me appreciate that it was actually a really big thing for me to do as it's the closest to a 'work' type thing that I've done in years.

HelloMist · 13/09/2021 22:43

Well done, @rainbowninja!

Thank you, @Coffeeanddarkchoc. Two similarly spontaneous outings happened today and both ended in nice discoveries/encounters. Yes, doing the little things (like putting away your washing) is just as important and something to give yourself a pat on the back for.

@Invasionofthegutsnatchers well done, great to hear about your new job!

I had a couple of quite low days, but yesterday and today have been much better. Apart from the outings my things today are: asking a stranger what she'd lost and helping to look, and conversing in the language I'm learning with a native other than my online tutor! Usually too scared to say more than "hello".

OP posts:
Veryverycalmnow · 13/09/2021 22:47

Forced myself to make conversation with some other mums on the school run. Nothing big, just small talk, but I find that stuff hard.

HummingBeeBox · 13/09/2021 22:48

Changed a direct debit over to the joint account.

Dogpark · 13/09/2021 22:53

Found a fiver and gave it back to the person who dropped it

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/09/2021 22:57

Telling our youngest, with a great big smile on my face, that I’m incredibly proud he chose a university course away from home

(while inner me was screaming I’m going to miss you SO much).

MrsHood · 13/09/2021 23:00

Called out someone at work who was talking shittily to one of my team members. It was not justified and I could not just let this someone act that way.

adeleh · 13/09/2021 23:02

I didn’t cry till after my therapy session when my therapist said there were ethical boundary issues that mean they can’t hug you.

LifeBeginsNow · 13/09/2021 23:04

I managed to get the baby to sleep for the first time ever without feeding or cosleeping. He has spent the day napping in his new cot and I'm trying him through the night now too!

clary · 13/09/2021 23:07

I had a really good lesson with my French GCSE student and definitely felt that she made progress.

Two loads of washing done and line dried.

Got several questions right on Only Connect.

rainbowninja · 14/09/2021 20:02

This is a great thread @HelloMist!

I did my online volunteering today and some studying and it almost felt like when I used to work 😊

SpittinKitten · 15/09/2021 14:22

Managed to get my kitchen into a presentable state for my annual gas safety check 👍
Managed to wake up in time for said gas safety check 👍
Remembered to eat my super strong prescription vit D tablet at the weekend, and had breakfast in the sunshine while my gas safety check was being done 👍☀️

SpittinKitten · 15/09/2021 14:25

^ oh, and my home passed its gas safety check. Did I mention I had one? Grin
