Don't think about Christmas, don't think about anything more than today. Tackle each day at a time, even each hour a at time.

MerlinsBeard · 27/11/2006 10:34

Flame is right, don't think about xmas yet, in fact don't even think about the end of today. Lets get through one hour at a time.

I know some people know you on here, why not lean on them a little?

penniless · 27/11/2006 10:48

Nemoinapeartree · 27/11/2006 11:59

penniless how did you get on at drs?????????

sideways · 27/11/2006 14:30

Good luck at the drs.

Flamesparrow · 27/11/2006 14:57

How did it go? (Don't wanna keep hassling you with texts )

penniless · 27/11/2006 15:35

the doctor was ok, i wouldnt say overly sympathetic..he just handed me ascript for some dothiapin and told me to go back and see him in 6 weeks.oh the best bit though was that he told me myweight probably wasnt helping! AND HANDEDME A LEAFLET FOR A 12 WEEK PROGRAMME FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE OVERWEIGHT AND SAID I SHOULD GO[SHOCK]

OP posts:
penniless · 27/11/2006 15:35

sorry about the caps

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 27/11/2006 18:01

Hmmm, not the most sensitive, helpful chap is he? But well done for taking that step. Try not to worry about next month, next week or even tomorrow. Take babysteps. Eat some food, hug your daughters and get some rest. You can get through this.
I've got to go out tonight, keep in touch mate, can I say 'We're here for you'' without sounding like a crap American chat show??

Flamesparrow · 27/11/2006 18:27

Arsehole!!! Yeah, weight is the top of your agenda right now

It will take a few weeks for the pills to start kicking in (for me it only took a week, but I don't know how much of that was psychological iyswim). Can I ask what dosage he gave?

AitchTwoOh · 27/11/2006 20:52

penniless, i think the caps were completely justified. what a turd your GP is. good for you, though, for going to the doc in any case. i hope the ADs help.

EmmyLou · 27/11/2006 21:38

Is there another doctor at the practise you could speak to? When I've had unsatisfactory resluts at our GP's I've made an appointment to see another one. You don't have to bad-mouth the first GP, but could say there were some questions you wanted to ask about the ADs or ask about referral for counselling etc...

Anything really to get you back in there and talking to someone who may be more receptive and supportive.

fussymummy · 27/11/2006 23:40

penniless well done on getting to your doctor.

How's your ear!!!!!!!

I'm really pleased that you have some tabs to help.

You don't have to see the same doctor again!!!

Do you want to send me the weight loss leaflet????

I could certainly do with it!!!!

You could always eat it!!!!

Just who does he think he is?????

As if you can think about the long slog ahead of losing weight, your priority is getting yourself well and coping through each day.

Which we will all help you do, for as long as you need us.

Look after yourself. xx

penniless · 28/11/2006 11:29

yes theres another gp i could see, ive seen her before so will visit her, i chucked the brochure in the bin..it was entitled..lighten up, tighten up!..i dont know whether to laugh or cry.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 28/11/2006 11:34

sorry but pmsl @ lighten up tighten up... made me think back to the anal bleaching thread

penniless · 28/11/2006 12:16

i must admit, i looked at it and wondered if it was a joke

OP posts:
fussymummy · 28/11/2006 21:11

maybe the doc was on comission for each leaflet he handed out!!!!!

How has today been for you????

EmmyLou · 28/11/2006 21:16

Hope you have better luck with the other GP. It does seem to be a bit of a lottery doesn't it - just when you need some concrete support. As for losing weight - I think you need to feel better about life first surely?

(anal bleaching thread WTF???)

Flamesparrow · 29/11/2006 07:43

Californifrau was going to have her first ob/gyn appointment and it all spiralled into other types of appointments she might be able to get in California

penniless · 29/11/2006 14:43

just to update.
i was advised that i needed to let the dla know about my depression so phoned the helpline up to tell them and ended up crying down the phone to the woman on the other end, but she was so nice about it, i also gave her some other info which id forgotten to include on my original application, she said it would help.

curlysmum · 29/11/2006 21:59

Hi I just spotted this was previously on your other thread re money, I'm sorry you are feeling like this i did'nt realise , I think the debt thing can really get so stressful I know I could'nt eat or sleep when I had my financial problems , if there is anything I can do to help the ironic thing is I work in cash collection but not on the consumer debt side but for a large company , this sort of thing can happen to anybody . If there are any letter's you would like written to your bank etc, I am happy to draft them it would only take me a few minutes I'm happy to help or fax them for you my email is on the other thread. I am sure you must be entitled to income support, etc ask for a lone parent adviser at your job centre they should be able to go through everything & give you some support as well, I am genuinely happy to help if I can.

fussymummy · 29/11/2006 23:02

penniless If you think of anything else that may help your DLA application, just keep calling them to add it on.

Have you applied for Incapacity Benefit???

Like i said before, you can get both.

Also, what about housing benefit???

Just because you have a mortgage, doesn'y mean you can't get it.

don't wait for each benefit to respond.

Apply for everything and they'll let you know what you can get.

Don't forget income support.

Do you get tax credits???

If so, did you know you can get milk tokens for any child under 5.

You're also entitled to free school meals for any other children.

Free prescriptions.

Hope some of this helps.

How are you feeling?

Are you getting on with the AD's?

Hope you're ok.

Take care, xx

fullmoonfiend · 30/11/2006 10:48

Nemoinapeartree · 30/11/2006 10:49
