Hi and welcome back to Kizzie! Many thanks as usual to hob, for kindly remembering the Brew, and here's hoping everything went well for upward today, after a difficult few days. Have just notice there is a further posting, but will send this now before it deletes itself.

shodatin · 30/08/2011 17:42

Oh upward, there you are! Hope today was a bit easier for you, and was wondering if you went to the day services or had a talk with someone, but it seems I'm a day early and you have another day to get through before there's a decision. Hope you have a relaxing evening and can manage an early night, knowing that we're all wishing you well.

Upwardandonward · 30/08/2011 17:58

Thanks for the good wishes - much appreciated! I did go in today, shodatin , questions about how I'm doing etc. in preparation for tomorrow. I suspect they'll have made the decision anyway, it's more that I should get to know about it...

Hope nobody's chilly at the moment.

shodatin · 30/08/2011 21:12

Upward, I don't think you've told us what you think about the dayservices yourself, and I was wondering if you actually want to continue, now that you've had a couple of weeks' experience. It seems a bit early for a decision on the effectiveness, so maybe they'll be wanting your opinion tomorrow. I think you did well to go in today; it must have been an effort while you're feeling a bit down.
I know it's really too early for a touch of autumn, but I'm sensing cooler air already, and a sniff of changing season, which is not unpleasant if we're due for a long, dry autumn .

Upwardandonward · 30/08/2011 21:32

I think it's good for staying in the here and now, the educational groups are useful, and it's quite good as far as the right level of distraction etc/realising other people are going through similar things. It would be better if I could do all day like most other people, but that can't be helped. I was very much going into myself before, and it helps break that up (bank hol weekend was challenging)...I suppose it depends what drug alterations they feel may/may not be worth trying as well.

I agree it's seeming early autumn now...

Tianc · 30/08/2011 23:56

Long, busy, productive day - now too tired to make sense. (Words, who uses words anyway? )

Have Brew instead.

Wishing everyone peaceful sleep. Night night all you lovely people.

cityhobgoblin · 31/08/2011 00:39

Thank you Tianc < revived and entertained > Brilliant to hear today's been so productive & I hope you & all of us have a restorative sleep

Thanks upward for telling us more about the day services , which sound very useful . Agree you did brilliantly to go in today . I understand that you wouldn't want to be cajoled into a dosage increase & hope the team will be open to experimenting with different approaches . Will be sending extra positive thoughts tomorrow .

Extra perceptive thoughts for upward if I may say so , shodatin , & hope you've had a good day .
Busy day here but had far more energy than usual < flip >.

Does anyone else think the idea of just 4 seasons is inaccurate ? Depending on which part of the country you're in , I thnk there are at least 9 per year Smile

shodatin · 31/08/2011 01:10

Thankyou for explaining about the daycentre upward; this is probably what the team would like to hear tomorrow, and I'm delighted that you've found it useful at this time. I realise you've had a blip, but only because you said so, and you seem to be steaming ahead towards a real recovery. It's just possible the team will have seen something similar, and won't necessarily be increasing meds this time.
Congratulations to both Tianc and Hobfor managing busy, productive days - what's the secret, hob, for having more energy than usual? Have a well-earned rest, tianc, and thanks for the goodnight Brew.
It's after midnight, past my bedtime, but hob's energy is still running well, speculating about the actual number of seasons - the thought of nine is quite exhausting, so I'll just say I'm-sure-you're-right and postpone the thinking for another day.
Hope everyone has a good night.

cityhobgoblin · 31/08/2011 08:51

Sorry didn't mention before as plans kept changing - probablywon't have access to net for a few days but the lovely people of the cybergarden will be in my thoughts as always , especially upward - best of luck today

< missing thread already >

cityhobgoblin · 31/08/2011 08:51

Grin at shodatin's I'm - sure - you're - right

shodatin · 31/08/2011 10:16

Missing you already, hob, but hope all goes well for you.
Very same thought speeding towards upward too; would be interested to know what your team think, if you feel like mentioning it after the meeting.

Upwardandonward · 31/08/2011 13:56

Gestures are good too, TIANC - hope you got a decent night after your busy day - good about the energy too!

Good luck for your time away hob , be thinking of you.

Got told today that the medical review will happen some time soon shodatin, but that they'd like me to continue attending for for a week or two. I think this is positive as they must think it's helping too.

shodatin · 31/08/2011 20:48

That's good news, upward, am so pleased for you, and just hope you're feeling better as the days go by, and no longer so tired by evening.

shodatin · 01/09/2011 00:21

Wish I was less tired too, time to say "goodnight" already.

Tianc · 01/09/2011 01:28

Another quick goodnight here. Sorry I'm not giving the garden the attention it deserves for a few days. It's great that I can do more Real Life - but it doesn't half distract from the important things like MN!

Sleep well all.

shodatin · 01/09/2011 09:54

Good for you, Tianc, am so pleased you're able to manage more chores, just hope you don't tire yourself too much, as it's such a busy time of year for house and garden. Here's some Brew to start the day quietly, if I'm not too late for the peaceful planning stage.

Hope it's a good day for upward and madmouse particularly - rest of us seem able to potter through without problems at present.

Upwardandonward · 01/09/2011 11:13

Thanks, shodatin - I think I'm still at the stage of not sleeping great and finding interaction exhaustion - once that gets better I will. How are you doing now after your bug?

TIANC , I'm glad RL is going nicely - long may it continue.

madmouse, I hope you're recovering from yesterday.

shodatin · 01/09/2011 13:34

Am recovered now, thanks upward, no daytime naps for about a week, which is a relief. Just looked for my insomnia info from Mn, but seem to have passed it on, sorry about that. My insomnia got me interested in astronomy, and I now miss those quiet hours at the window! The worst times for me were the 4a.m. wakings due to depression, but chamomile tea helped until I got prescriptions.
I do hope you can find some help - so difficult living with the next day's exhaustion.
It's another beautiful day here, blue sky and sunshine with light breeze, altho have started autumn preparations already, and actually remembered to say "Rabbits" this morning! (Better get on with something more useful now, like changing calendars).

Upwardandonward · 01/09/2011 22:30

Brew Brew Brew Brew Brew

I'm sorry you had bad insomnia, shodatin My issue is more suddenly waking up with the feeling that someone's in the flat :s

What does 'rabbits' help with? (confused)

I hope hob , TIANC , madmouse , shodatin , kizzy , butterpie and anyone I've forgotten have a good night.

shodatin · 01/09/2011 23:36

Oh dear, upward, waking up like that must be horrible, and probably part of being stressed, but have you told any of the HCPs? It will probably stop by itself, but how upsetting for you, and I wish I knew more about these things.

It's supposed to be lucky if one can say "Rabbits" on the first of the month and before saying anything else; of course it's nonsense, but I don't remember very often. One of my Southern contacts insists it has to be "White Rabbits", which is just as nonsensical no doubt, but I might add it to my google-ing list.

Am pleased with self today, having just made an "organiser" to put in large handbag and altered handles to correct size for me, ready for autumn use.
Last summer's cream fabric bag is looking dog-eared and needs a wash now.

shodatin · 01/09/2011 23:48

Hope you have a peaceful and uninterrupted sleep tonight onward, and everyone else of course. Chamomile nightcaps available here Brew.

Tianc · 02/09/2011 01:04

"Rabbits"? You learn something every day on MN! Sounds like another organised, productive day, shodatin.

Upward how unpleasant for you waking like that. Must be draining to deal with. Poor you. Do hope it wears off fairly quickly. But your news about the day centre sounds positive all round! Long may it continue!

Off-line Brew for hob. Hope your trip is going well, and DP's back is holding up. What rotten timing for him. So sorry to hear about his mother being ill, as well. Sad

We've had further amazing developments from our own trip - it's been like living an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? for the last few weeks. DP is quite dazed.

And I've done too much again today, making the most of our sunshine after the rain caught me out last week. As you say, shodatin, toooo tempting to get all those jobs done... Must revert to do-a-bit-rest-a-bit...

Definitely bed time. Do hope you manage to sleep through, Upward; and the rest of us too.

to madmouse, kizzie, butterpie and anyone else wafting through. Night night all.

shodatin · 02/09/2011 10:29

Hope you slept through onward, and are feeling well today. I'm glad you're able to continue with the daycentre activities, which do sound good.

Sorry you've been over-doing it Tianc, it's just too easy once one starts, and time goes so quickly when physically able to be busy. Actually, the do-a-bit,rest-a-bit system has worked for me for years and is now automatic, to the approval of HCPs, means I keep going longer without feeling like an invalid.

Am so pleased your recent trip was productive, it must be endlessly interesting.
Wish I had more relatives to make it worthwhile, or even to take an interest.

Tianc · 02/09/2011 18:17

What a beautiful sunny day it's been here. Hope you all got the same?

Upwardandonward · 02/09/2011 18:21

Ah right - a bit like 'pinch, punch first of the month', but kinder! Good luck with the pacing, TIANC - it can be so hard to be disciplined with it. Your organiser sounds interesting, shodatin - is it material? (sounds a good plan - I tend to fall into using a rucksack rather than my nice big handbag).

I am ok, slightly peeved to be told this evening that I'm apparently having a bad day and that I've been withdrawn... Hmm Confused I did try and say I was ok, but they were talking about a visit (don't need/want), and when I said all this they said they're phoning tomorrow am. I've got a plan for the weekend off my own bat too...

Gah, anyway - I'm thinking about going to a nearby farmers' market - has anyone got anything good planned for the weekend?
