Smile

Sorry been unfaithful, lots going on. But making myself useful - here's your new thread x

OP posts:
shodatin · 22/12/2011 10:45

Not much notice there upward, so hope you can fit it in around boiler-man. Think someone's decided to put mind/s at rest before holidays take over for who -knows -how -long, in fact, do you actually know when your regular people will be back again? Best wishes for appt, and please try not to worry about it .

Upwardandonward · 22/12/2011 10:59

Home actually hasn't been too cold, think I need to turn it off more often (GF flat + neighbours heating isn't too bad). Boiler man hasn't arranged I time, sure they will do their usual 'we were just in the area).

I didn't arrange to see anyone, they asked me to stay after the group and then said they wanted me to see one of their colleagues today or tomorrow, and cajoled until I said yes. Blush

The doctor I normally see is away til 1st week of Jan, and they'd already moved my appointment with her to that week, so yesterday I suggested waiting for then.

Oh, and for am read pm ;)

shodatin · 22/12/2011 11:12

Not too bad then upward, and glad you have an appointment in place with usual doctor just-in-case anything's worried you over the holiday. Hope you didn't have anything actually planned for this p.m., and send best wishes that it goes smoothly.
Have decided I don't need a final supermarket shop in nearby town, will manage well enough locally tomorrow while out collecting DB (who was brought up to carry stuff for us and therefore excellent helper). Am quite enjoying my little potter at home, finalising odds & ends, and just hope I've not forgotten something major.
Hope everyone else is taking it slowly enough to enjoy.

Upwardandonward · 22/12/2011 11:43

Thanks shodatin

That's good to be escaping any last shop :) I hope the prep is going well for everyone!

cityhobgoblin · 22/12/2011 13:21

Thinking of you at outpatient appt , upward ... really hope it's as shodatin wisely says , staff trying to ensure you are as well as possible over the long break . Fell so fed up for you with the clunking way they're going about it - I know I do not respond well to cajoling - I'm so very sorry if you are asked to stay in your area over Christmas so team can keep an eye on your well being which would be so depressing < worried >>

Thank you for sharing my pleasure at lovely time seeing DM , which was lovely as she spends Christmas Day with horrible partner , though in recent years she's trieds to spend more of the season with us Smile

The cheerful & calm atmosphere of your home this week has been absolutely permeating the cybergarden , shodatin , and certailny my shambolichome tooGrin It's brilliant that this special Christmas with DB is starting so smoothly , and I hope you can rest today and get early night in anticipation of well- trained sibling's arrival .

Sorry for long gaps , sleeping long hours and do wish upward could have the same pleasure . Hope Tianc able to listen to a bit of radio/ TV if having to stay in bed .

Still laughing at your wise comments shodatin on enforced Christmas jollity "I'm Christian and even I can't keep it up " - & very helpful to me , who exhausts dh's family with jollity ( but is simultaneously a grumpy introvert ... perhaps my jollity is passive aggressive Shock )

< HF brings a late fuschia to thank shodatinfor prepared cushion , having been inspired by Tianc's neighbouring cat >

< comforting cups of soup for us all >.

shodatin · 22/12/2011 13:32

Many thanks to sweet HF for surprise fuchsia - I accept that cats do give presents, but usually horrible items like dead mice, so a flower is a first for me. Let's hope the original fuchsia-giving cat has started a trend; wouldn't take the average cat very long to recognise pleasure at gift (for a change)

cityhobgoblin · 22/12/2011 13:50

< HF preens at praise for her sweet naturedness >
< goes back to reading Mouse Torturer's Monthly >

shodatin · 22/12/2011 13:53

Apologies for abrupt ending - Skype again, and have not figured out how to hang on to what I've typed until resumed.
Am so pleased I've managed to spread idea of relaxed anticipation this last day or so, feeling laid-back and with a full larder makes a big difference to Christmas cheer, as does not expecting too much from other people, or being apprehensive about huge cost of celebrations/huge amount of kitchen work looming.
Really hope both tianc and hob will be able to manage a lovely Christmas without getting too tired or doing too much sleeping, but guess experience will show which bits are not worth worrying about (and which items can be delegated to helpers). Lucky upward to be a guest and able to relax once arrived at destination. (And hope boiler has been fixed before due at appointment).

cityhobgoblin · 22/12/2011 14:57

Ah yes shodatin , most annoying when there is no "save" feature for messages
Your home really has extended out into the cybergarden - I can almost smell fresh bedsheets & see vases of seasonal decorations . I remembered hyacinths for DM thanks to a previous post of yours , & realise I've forgotten to make up the pot with the glorious plants you got for your windowbox , so I may yet manage that too

I feel rotten for those who may have to spend a lot of the holiday lying down , and hope their health rallies and particularly that their minds are eased of any worries making health problems feel more exhausting.

Am also very concerned the appt today might involve mh people asking upwqard to stay in home locality so can be briefly visited each day to check wellbeing Sad- would seem disproportionate and depressing , and due only to absence of staff and GP who know her . < channels positive thoughts to outpatiens' dept >

< starts up a Tianc - inspited calming incantation >

[brews]s all round - sorry forgot to thank you for earlier Brews and[biscuits] , shodatin

Upwardandonward · 22/12/2011 16:43

Thanks for the good thoughts/wishes, I was quizzed re: ny holiday plans, and said no thank you to the crisis team...so a junior doctor is going to ring me next week when I am and I must ring the crisis team if I 'need' to (I suppose I have to count myself lucky for them not forcing the crisis team on me). I think they were being a bit panicy, as the dr that I saw was stressing about she's around tomorrow and I should just ask teh secretary if I needed.

I am feeling Blush - I controlled the urge to leave (same building as the one I was sectioned in), but didn't answer properly about hearing stuff - really couldn't make myself, and I was having a little trouble understanding her...and I didn't want anyone to misinterpret and suggest I was suicidal, and don't want the crisis team imposed on me.

shodatin , I hope that you have a wonderful time with your DB.

I hope you're surviving, tianc and hob

No call about the boiler, I'll have to ring tomorrow. But I'm excited, only 2 more sleeps.

cityhobgoblin · 22/12/2011 16:58

< HF purrs sleepily >

Thank you so much upward for such a prompt update after distressing appt . I know the staff are trying to ensure your well being and it's a subtle art assessing your needs , but I can't help feeling relieved that you haven't had the crisis team forced on you , as I'm sure you have steps planned out should crisis really flare up , and that your carers and later your relatives would help you assess your state of mind if you were concerned .

You were extremely brave to resist urge to leave building wth such stark memories . Hope you can curl up in comfort this evening Brew- is the boiler still out of commission ? Am smiling at "two more sleeps"

< upward's favourite carols fill summerhouse , at a gentle volume to soothe tired gardeners >

cityhobgoblin · 22/12/2011 17:02

Ah sorry , missed the no call about boiler and hope that comes tomorrow

Having pleasant day here thanks, trying to do some house chores & get one or two pressies I couldn't find elsewhere

Hope Tianc OK , and kizzie looking forward to Christmas , and that madmouse family have a lovely time despite it being such a busy time for them

Upwardandonward · 22/12/2011 20:53

Hope everyone's sat down somewhere nice and non-stressful.

Forgot to say that I've got 7 days of temazepam (it was that or increased antipsychotic, which I was less keen on, as it can really knock you sideways and I'll be staying with family).

shodatin · 22/12/2011 20:55

Had a great laugh at HF's Mouse Torturer's Monthly Mag, hob, so thankyou for that. Thanks also for being so kind about seasonal postings, and hope DB will enjoy being here. A Ffriend called today, and was pleased I'd managed to get most of food prepared and into freezer already, but there's nothing fancy and only the usual 3/4 veg, unlike some menus I've come across on Mnet which would tax a professional chef (and make one's liver cry). Glad you've had a good day and sorted more presents, and hope tianc and other visiting gardeners also had a positive day.

Am so pleased it went well for you this p.m., upward, but shame you don't feel you heard the doctor properly.
It was indeed brave to force yourself to go to the same hospital while wondering if you'd be kept in again, and I'm glad you don't have to be involved with Crisis Team. Hope you're feeling more relaxed this evening, altho' it's unfortunate that the boiler-man didn't get to you, and I hope you're warm enough.

shodatin · 22/12/2011 22:16

Forgot to thank hob for thoughtful hot soup earlier, although it was appreciated.

So pleased you've got some Temazepam for difficult nights upward. I had them for years, then stopped over about two weeks, so they're not worryingly addictive, and should make a big difference over the holidays. A nurse friend suggested that maybe a half would work as well as a whole one - she was right, so am passing it on, although you've probably had experience of them in the past. Hope your noisy neighbours have been behaving, as I don't know of anything that works on outside noises (apart from my hospital ear-plugs, bought from Boots and indispensable at times)

Tianc, you've not been forgotten, but am assuming you're resting and need to be quiet at present, so will look forward to your return later.

Upwardandonward · 22/12/2011 23:02

I am feeling more relaxed. Hopefully I'll sleep tonight and can have a restful day tomorrow. Like everyone has said, good wishes to tianc. And I hope everyone gets a good night tonight.

Tianc · 22/12/2011 23:41
shodatin · 22/12/2011 23:44

It's good you're feeling more relaxed upward - you've had a worrying time altogether! Hope boiler-man comes soon, and that tomorrow's a good day all round.
Will say "goodnight" now, hoping that summerhouse is in safe condition overnight, fire sorted, cushions ready for star-gazers etc., or even tianc, who might feel like a quiet stroll last thing, without having to make effort and socialise.... Night.

Upwardandonward · 23/12/2011 08:45

Got to sleep around 1-2, up again at 6 so a little better.Todday is definitely a acurl up day - hope nobody has to go out oin the rain if they needn't.

shodatin · 23/12/2011 09:43

Thank you so much for summerhouse duties, upward, a bit beyond me at present (avoiding household chores now a habit). Glad sleep was improved, and really hope it was enough.
I'm glad I'm not being rained on too, but DB just phoned re 40 min train delay, just had second call, train now an hour late but finally arrived, and just one (one hour) change before arrival. Weather horrible here, so have scrapped plans for town lunch etc, and will stay local, once DB has unpacked/relaxed.
Hope you get boilerman soon, makes tray of Brew while remembering.

cityhobgoblin · 23/12/2011 11:57

Morning , all , and so glad you got some sleep , upward , and hope your body starts to lengthen the sleping period as it's not been enough for maintenance of body and mind . Shocked your boiler has been left like this and hope the warmer weather ersistas a bit loner ..

I loved your posts yesterday shodatin and am astounded to see you posting even as DB is due < pleads with shodatin to go and enjoy DB's company > Rotten that your lunch plans are rained off - rainy here , but warm atm - and I hope he arrives safely and is soon put to work with tasks for tall & strong types < festive greetings to DB from cybergardeners , though of course you can't pass them on >

So pleased your fFriend came round yesterday& enjoyed the sense of cheerful serenity you've been been giving s this week a Xmas Smile

Hope you have a less stressful or frustrating time than perhaps expected , Tianc -who -hates-to grumble , if you're on enforced rest

Was upset not to be able to post last night - went to late night shops then met DH who was deeply worried after a visit to his DM as she'd had the OOH doc out again a night of dramatic haemorrhaging from her suspected TB and was in limbo re medication , her usual doctors etc due to holiday week ... it's the puzzled locums who worry her , but they do liase with the hospital .

Was worrying that she was rather breathless yesterday , & I would have thought needed more examination , but she had a good night's sleep yesterday & has new ABs to take so I hope she'll be able to miss out on being admitted over Christmas . We don't expect her to be with us for ages longer , but a quiet time suits her best .
Meanwhile , her years of horrendous coughing etc have cleared up since starting the TB medication so that's very positive & she's better than she has been for years .

Tree still not up Xmas Grin & house and self a disgrace due to dormouse mode , but festive mood in place

Hope curled up under very warm rugs, upward Brews all round

cityhobgoblin · 23/12/2011 11:59

PS Sorry shodatin , I know you don't need pleading with to go and relax with your relativeXmas Smile I'll be nipping in and out of the summerhouse for the next couple of hours

Upwardandonward · 23/12/2011 12:13

Hope your DB has connected with you, shodatin , and you'rehaving a lovely time.

Thankfully the temperature isn't too bad, just fighting sleepy feelings (sleeping during the day is not good for me).

Sounds like the medics could be doing better for your DH's DM (and DH by extension). I really hope she stays out of the hospital.

cityhobgoblin · 23/12/2011 13:21

Yes indeed , hoping you're eating lunch together , shodatin*.

Glad not too chilly upward, though I wish you weren't cool at all . Sorry to hear daytime sleeping a bad idea - what a difficult timeyou have when you suffer from insomnia - and there's me going omn about my daytime dozing[ ]

I do some "short" breaths when trying to stay awake , and how about some fast tempo music - are you a Ramones fan? or thrash metal, or Oi type punk ? You could have an afternoon of unexpected delights on YoutubeXmas Grin

cityhobgoblin · 23/12/2011 13:27

sorry for typos and forgetting to thank you for good wishes for MIL , upward . The hospitals involved have actuaally thrown a lot of unecessary expense at her case , in the understandable fear she might sue for basic errors , but you'll know how hard attentive doctors work , & it's a shame basic lapses / hospital costcutting can waste all that .

HF just positively frolicked around the garden - danced , in fact Xmas Grin - till the rain got heavier
