We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

Going to call it a night.

Sleep well everyone, take good care of your precious selves and see you again the morning.

Just got back, sorry snowmash. Of course I'll send prayers for you, hoping you have a good night and that tomorrow's a big improvement. Wishing a good night to TIANC and the busy Pixie too, plus hob, kizzie and anyone else still around (didn't realise it was so late)

snowmash · 22/03/2011 01:10

6 hr nursing section not extended by dr as they'd keep me under common law anyway til morning.

shodatin · 22/03/2011 10:30

Poor snowmash Sad sorry about the nursing section, even tho I don't actually know the meaning I'm guessing life has been even more difficult for you.
I do hope that today is better, in all ways, and that you feel you're back on track for recovery again. Will keep up the prayers for you.

Lovely sun here Pixie, causing wardrobe meltdown as now have to go out, but back soon (probably burned and dehydrated etc). Hope your day's less hectic.

ThisIsANiceCage · 22/03/2011 11:09

Oh petal, have you been making another bid for freedom - of one sort or another? Sad

Was thinking of you as I made my first Brew this morning, and about what very hard work it must be to be in voluntarily.

Because at every moment one has choice. And although part of one's head has made a decision to stay and continue treatment, the other part can be perpetually screaming to leave, to end it all, and all the other ghastly things it bangs on about.

And I was in awe that you'd managed this many days voluntarily; and worried that you'd be exhausted. Resisting that horrid voice uses up strength like fire burns tinder, in my humble experience. It's a huge achievement just to resist most of the time, occasional lapses are definitely part of the process.

I used to plan for the lapses by not having sharp knives or too much medication in the house, and deliberately leaving things undone that I would feel obliged to finish before disappearing. Anything to keep me safe till my strength caught up, and I could wearily trudge off again down the stony road of living. Sodding hard work. Confused

It's consultant day again today, isn't it? Fingers crossed for a good meeting.

Sorry its all so difficult at the moment snowmash Sad.

Thats the thing to hold onto though if you can. Its 'at the moment'. It will pass.

Hope today is better than yesterday x

cityhobgoblin · 22/03/2011 13:54

So sorry for the overnight section snowmash , how upsetting. I'm sorry if it happened because you were extra frustrated, or if you feel that something you said caused staff to over react somewhat... horrible for you either way. Amazing post TIANC, about the variations in a person's ability to sustain their energy during the painful process of making progress. Prayers here too - I'm certain we're all sending positive thoughts or prayers your way every day also .

Very sorry not to have come back for ages but still extra sleepy!- a most pleasant feeling but not conducive to chores. Am delighted at your DH's outsmarting of the squirrel, shodatin - poor thing " chattering and almost swearing with fury" Grin - I thought it was truly impossible to foil them pinching birdfood.
Absolutely swooning at your idea of low walls planted with scented varieties for those who can't reach every area of a typical garden. Very excited also that a Bleeding Heart has been approved! Shame you lost one shodatin- I think we'll have to ask our busy gardener pixie to keep a close eye on our fragile baby. Thank you so much for very useful link TIANC & sorry to tempt you...& I hear you on the plants woefully waiting for a home...,< plonks all plants into containers in strange shady & windy spots >

Peaceful afternoon all, especially snowmash . Hope you can feel the truth of kizzie's wise words at this dark time.

shodatin · 22/03/2011 15:28

TIANC, thankyou from me, and for remembering it's consultant's day too. Hope both you and hob are managing without being too tired - so easy to overdo-it, particularly when sun's shining.

I thought of you while in the supermarket this morning snowmash, as there were little one-portion pots of porridge, made ready by addition of hot water.
Would you like a few for emergency snacks? Only original plain variety left I noticed, but I could hunt down the syrup and other varieties if you like, no problem at all.

Bought this year's seeds while out today, just mixed wildflowers for odd corners and a packet of original blue cornflowers for back of cutting border
(having half last year's marigolds and California Poppies available), but am still unable to find Limnanthes - Poached Egg Plants, which I always had in previous gardens as they self-seeded so vigourously. There will be plenty of the others available for cybergarden, if we want the cottage garden kind of informal annuals for kiddies to cut.

ThisIsANiceCage · 22/03/2011 16:41

Thank you shodatin, that is a very timely reminder. I want to bustle round in the gorgeous sunshine warbling.

But I am strictly to Do A Bit Rest A Bit. Or in two days' time I'll be here wailing that I'm ill.

Hope you get something nice for teatime, snowmash.

cityhobgoblin · 22/03/2011 18:18

Thanks from me too shodatin- I've enjoyed thinking about the plants you suggested this afternoon whilst been searching for something of DH's that I misplaced. (2nd day of searching , wah) Having far too many rests!
I think snowmash might particularly enjoy the unusual sheeny petals of the California poppies . Will look up poached egg plants Grin

Excellent to see you relax in the garden, TIANC < lightly prods>

Hope you can manage some tea snowmash

shodatin · 22/03/2011 22:24

Hope you had a useful talk with the consultant today snowmash - been wondering how you're doing since last night's upset.
Hob and TIANC, am so pleased you can relate to our garden so well, as I love the idea but definitely need other people's input and ideas to enjoy it.

ThisIsANiceCage · 22/03/2011 22:51

Ooh, thanks for rug, hob.

Hope tea was edible, showmash, and your good appetite has continued.

OP posts:
snowmash · 22/03/2011 23:13

Nope, no dr for me today, they has ward round without me and I may see someone tomorrow :(:(

ThisIsANiceCage · 22/03/2011 23:56

That's rough, waiting till tomorrow.Sad Do hope you get to see someone then.

Was it that you were off the ward? Or is it actually a rather backhanded sign of progress, that you're no longer among the most acutely ill?

OP posts:
shodatin · 22/03/2011 23:59

Hi snowmash, I do hope you have good news tomorrow. Are you feeling any better yet?
Hope you have a good sleep tonight, and everyone else around here too, as I'm about ready for bed.

ThisIsANiceCage · 23/03/2011 00:23

Goodness, definitely bedtime.

Sleep well, everyone, if you can... Pixie, put those spreadsheets down! Smile

Morning all, another lovely sunny morning. Hope we're all feeling reasonably fit and ready for whatever's going to turn up. Hope it's a good medical interview snowmash, if there is one due, and that you're feeling improved today.

kizzie · 23/03/2011 10:45

Hope you get to see someone today snowmash x

I going through a 'blip' at the moment. Nothing like you are having to face - but its made me admire you even more for the way you are dealing with everything.
