We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

Ah, TIANC's Shamrock s have shown up on my screen now - was trying to find what you were using to brighten up the place

shodatin · 18/03/2011 12:58

Hope you got enough to eat snowmash, and that it was hot enough. Please do let me know if I can send snacks etc. or, today I found something I'd almost forgotten: a painting-by-numbers set which a friend got for me in a sale, and you're very welcome to have it . I too have unread novels, planned calligraphy pieces and sketches for painting, as well as a mess of half-finished craft projects, sewing etc and would rather have the space, so it's yours if you'd like it.

madmouse · 18/03/2011 17:03

I can't keep up with this thread!! So just saying Hi Snowmash how is it going and hello to everyone else x

snowmash · 18/03/2011 18:30

I just wanted to say a brief hello - bad day physically (and probably the next few days - nothing doing as they don't have the drugs here).

The idea of a parcel is a lovely, kind, thoughtful idea - just need to be not passing out

Hope everyone's ok.

ThisIsANiceCage · 18/03/2011 19:03

Just popping in quickly today.

snowmash really sorry you're bad physically at the moment. Sad That's outrageous that they can't get the drugs in - they've had enough notice. Hope it doesn't last too long or get too severe.

Let us know what you'd like in your POW parcel. Smile

Hope everyone else is well and having a good day.

Hello snowmash, good to hear from you but such a shame you're not well. I'm sure you could manage to do some painting-by-numbers -it's an American artist, Homer Winslow, three children in sunhats looking out to sea on a sunny day, probably 1930s but classic, and I could send it from local P.O. tomorrow, along with some driedfruit, chocolate and instant porridge, or any combination. I know the hospital, so if you tell me how to address it it could arrive Monday, all ready to make you feel less unhappy while unwell.

cityhobgoblin · 18/03/2011 21:35

Awful that you're having such health problems without approipriate care and medication, snowmash. How the hell does a less articulate / experienced person than you get treatment in that situation, when even you can't? argh.

So pleased you'd accept little parcels! I haven't got much exciting stuff to pop in mine (or do we want to do a communal one?) but will have fun trying to dig some out- there's tempting for you Grin

Hope all you lovely people have a good evening. Hi madmouse, and hope pixie family OK today ( I saw you trying to do what you could to help poor Edgar & hope you're OK , though I hope I don't upset you by mentioning it).

Watching the moon tonight from our rather chilly garden < makes large pot of soothing herbal tea >

Hello hob, I do hope snowmash will accept some stuff from us, particularly now I've found the painting kit.
I'd be happy to send just one parcel if that's easier for snowmash, but will wait to hear from our friend.

I think I caught something at the surgery yesterday, and don't feel at all well now, so no moon-gazing for me tonight. Hope it's impressive and not too cold.

TIANC, I'm off to bed too, so goodnight all

cityhobgoblin · 19/03/2011 08:31

Hope all slept well.. white with frost in the garden , so Brew Brew Brew

Oh nooooo shodatin, hope it's a very brief virus. Hope you have some comforting reads / programmes saved up as you fight it off. I find history programmes are good when you're poorly

Thanks for reply about parcel- really sorry if I sounded rude - just wondering what snowmash prefers, but as she probably wants to use an assumed name, then she might not mind each of us individually being able to use it. Thought I'd check in case that would worry her - perhaps she would prefer an individual parcel only from those like you whom she knows well from this thread.
(Please don't worry about replying to my waffling today).

The moon was intensely bright - love seeing the garden silvery - but not "large" at all, so maybe tonight's rare moon won't be such a giant after all.

Hope the treatment you need is forthcoming very soon, snowmash. Is there any form of request to the hospital that you haven't felt able to use at all? Do you have anyone advocating for you when you feel so rotten physically? I know you know the system well but maybe you're having to "pick your battles" and suffering as a result. It sounds like they've told you they can't get your treatment for some days and that's that. Obviously don't worry about answering this if you don't want.

Hope everyone gets lots of the bright sunshine we have here this morning

shodatin · 19/03/2011 10:31

Morning hob, and thanks for good wishes, I think it's "just" a cold so lack of energy and temperature are worst but it should be brief if I steam some herbs.
It never occurred to me you might be rude, so no prob.
Agree about moon glimpse; disappointing so far.

Morning snowmash, please let me know name/address to send painting and a few bits. It's bad enough being ill at home, but at least I have lots of amusements.
Hope this is a better day for you, if possible.

I'd forgotten the party! How lovely that will be. How many little ones are coming? (Or is it just family for the first year?) Hope they all enjoy it a lot.

Would love to send you things too snowmash - but we're off abroad for 5 days tomorrow so will see where things are when we come back.

we're going to stay with my dad and stepmum and visit friends. Looking forward to them seeing my ds as they haven't seen him for 6 months apart from on skype.

shodatin · 19/03/2011 14:11

I'm OK thanks just feeling exhausted at the thought of a party for seventy, including the tinies. Hope you have lots of helpers so you can enjoy yourself too.

shodatin · 19/03/2011 14:13

Hope you enjoy the break madmouse, safe journey.

snowmash · 19/03/2011 15:51

Afternoon all. Shodatin I hoPe the cold is better soon. Madmouse have a great time. Pixie have a lOvely party - sounds fun but ppotentially exhausting. Tianc and hob hope you have good days. I'm still feeling physically rough but never mind!

shodatin · 19/03/2011 16:46

Hello snowmash, so sorry you're feeling rubbish, and I can sympathise with the passing out periods. I would actually feel better if you let me send you the painting kit, and maybe some snacks, just to help you get through this time, so please give me a name to use. Meantime, it must be about time for hospital nourishment, so I hope it;s something good today.

ThisIsANiceCage · 19/03/2011 17:23

Hey there. Good to see you all.

Sorry you're still feeling so rough, snowmash. Hope by tomorrow things are picking up physically; in the meantime have a bottomless cup of Brew and sympathy.

And hope your wretched cold-y thing goes away quickly, too, shodatin. No fun when they're so debilitating.

Very best wishes for your trip, madmouse. That's so lovely that littlemouse is going to see his grandparents. Hope all goes well.

Pixie you are insane. Grin And if you weren't earlier, I bet you're gibbering by now.

We managed to see the moon last night, too, and like you hob were surprised it didn't seem noticeably larger - but oh boy was it bright! Such a cold, hard, gleaming brilliance! Apparently it's only 15% larger but 30% brighter than normal.

Right, woken up a bit now. We've had the most beautiful sunny day here today and I've been out frolicking in town and eating cake with DP. The park was heaving! It was like every living thing in the city had crawled out of its winter burrow to blink at the sunshine and groom its shaggy coat.

We kept getting overrun by teenagers and footballs - I dunno, yoof of today, out running round in the sunshine instead of hunkered over joysticks in their bedrooms . What's the world coming to! Grin

shodatin · 19/03/2011 20:02

Glad you had a good frolic, TIANC, and lots of cake to make up for being unwell a few days ago and unable to go out to eat. It does seem like Spring is on the way when you can enjoy being outside (and overrun by teenagers etc). I did have plans, but stayed at home and Skyped while mopping nose instead.

Thanks TIANC, I feel better already.

Snowmash, hope you soon feel better too; you do seem to know something about the problem, even if no meds available. I go absent too, which is a nuisance and complete waste of time, but mine's after meals so never a surprise and don't even feel ill - sorry you're having this on top of all the other problems.

shodatin · 19/03/2011 23:58

Off to bed now, didn't realise the time. Hope everyone has a good night (and that Pixie's party went well).
