If I start typing something only vaguely interesting or relevant, I just know snowmash will come back and cross-post..... hope so anyway. Please let us know what you're planning?

snowmash · 20/02/2011 16:43

Don't worry, nothing

Well thanks for posting anyway. I'm so glad you have the phone with you and can keep in touch. Have the nurses offered to help you recharge it?

snowmash · 20/02/2011 17:28

It doesn't need charging any more.

Actually, if you're bored stuck in there, snowmash, I'd love to hear about your DPhil research - but only if I'm not being too nosy.

I really love proof-reading theses for friends, because one gets these really amazing glimpses into specialist worlds one'd never otherwise see. Like the socio-political significance of different writing scripts in Vietnamese history (seriously, it's fascinating stuff).

I know your work's been in abeyance while you've been ill, but I'm doffing my hat again that you earned a DPhil place - they must have been highly impressed with your work. (I'm also Envy because Oxford turned my DP down 20 years ago for a DPhil. Smile)

If you'd like to "give a bit back" to the NHS, would it be possible to publish an interim paper, or put notes in order so a collaborator can take your work forward?

Sorry if I've got all that wrong - of course I don't know what stage your work is at.

(Oddly, I used to proof-read professionally - hard to believe when I'm posting gems like "Saharah" and, on another thread, "principal" for "principle" Blush.)

Heh heh, proof-read professionally, or just keep finding their mistakes?

I'm itching to tell you about some of my employers' more amusing typos, but it's just toooooo outing if anyone in rl is reading!

so snowmash, how do you feel about letting us know about your research? I've been wondering since you first mentioned it, and would love to know subject.

shodatin · 20/02/2011 19:27

snowmash · 20/02/2011 20:05

shodatin · 20/02/2011 20:34

I don't understand about the clothes, who/what is without clothes and how did we get to this subject?

snowmash · 20/02/2011 20:44

I have none because I am evil

OP posts:
madmouse · 20/02/2011 20:47

you are not evil snowmash

they are obviously very concerned for your safety

shodatin · 20/02/2011 20:53

No you're not evil at all, but you are unwell, and we are worried about you. Hope you're still managing to eat and take meds.

ThisIsANiceCage · 20/02/2011 21:13

Oh snowmash! SadSadSad

You're not evil, petal.

We like you, and enjoy talking to you. And we wouldn't do that if you were evil.

So sorry things are really bad tonight. Sad

snowmash · 20/02/2011 21:56

OP posts:
ThisIsANiceCage · 20/02/2011 22:10

Hang on in there, pet. Sad

Keep breathing, keep eating, keep taking the meds.

The sun will go down and come up. And we'll hold your hand every single day. Even if you're offline, we'll be here.

shodatin · 20/02/2011 22:12

Sad for you snowmash.
It won't always be like this.
