@Cashew1 oooo you rebel! 😆

Hi all, I dropped off the thread as I put on a load of weight over Christmas and have not been in the headspace at all to get back into it. I received a diagnosis at the start of January and although nothing dangerous it really threw me and I've been comfort eating.....I'm so annoyed with myself!

Anyway, I finally feel ready to tackle it and get back on track and I've lost 1lb this week so onwards and downwards. I did a 23 hour fast and broke it with a falafel, tomato and lettuce wrap.

I'm aiming for at least 18 hours fasting today and dinner will be a baked potato with cottage cheese and salad. I'm also going to do a one hour walk on my lunch break again. I did that on Monday and Tuesday too and felt so much better for some fresh air and sunlight during the day. I've also restarted yoga so am going to a class each week and really enjoying it.

Nice to see you! Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, and totally understandable that made things harder. Well done on the lb this week.

Thanks @Cashew1 this is such a friendly group I wanted to come back and check in rather than hide away because I've put on weight as burying my head in the sand wasn't doing me any favours!

jumpintheline · 23/01/2025 09:26

@GameOfJones well done getting back on track - I think mindset is half the battle. We're here to support!

I've had a few rubbish days, only a 13 hour fast today as have a bit of a cold so wanted breakfast. Overall we are just doing what we can to improve our health, no matter how big or small and that's good enough for me!

jumpintheline · 23/01/2025 14:07

19 hour fast nailed. Had a big mixed salad from M&S plus spicy tuna sushi. Got an apple and granola square for a snack to see me through the afternoon. Tonight will be nourish / buddha bowl.

Weight held at exactly 62.5kg again this am.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 23/01/2025 16:06

Hello @GameOfJones! Great you're back in the mindset.

16 hour fast today.

Mid morn- homemade smoothie (grapes, strawberries, blueberries, banana, spinach, chia seeds)
Lunch- guacamole dip with oatcakes
Snack- choc chip shortbread
Dinner- no idea yet!

greengreyblue · 23/01/2025 16:15

Oh great to have you back @GameOfJones and back even stronger because it’s always harder if we’re not in the best place, so well done for already getting a loss! 👏🏻
18 hr fast
lunch: roasted butternut squash ( did it in halves in the air fryer- new for me!) with chickpeas, feta and seeds and a dollop of yoghurt, an apple.
snack after work- handful of nuts.

dinner: turkey steak parmigiana with salad.

Weigh day tomorrow and I’m hopeful. Feel like there may have been a shift down. 🤞🏻

Welcome @pearldiamond and welcome back @GameOfJones. Wishing you both lots of success.

SeekingTreasures · 23/01/2025 20:15

Yesterday Rollergirl said that she can sometimes stay 3 weeks at a same weight before moving downwards. I just want to say how much that helped me .
I’ve been making some serious efforts here since I started and , after seeing the scales shift down quickly at the start, this last week has been at a complete stop.

I’ve decided that I’m going to continue 16/8 tomorrow and if there’s no change again, then on Saturday I’ll fast for longer.

I’m not a seasoned faster like some of you here and I’m quite nervous about it.

Cashew1 · 23/01/2025 21:39

Ok not a healthy day but being transparent to show we all struggle!

13 hour fast

B: crumpets with peanut butter and jam
L: curry udon noodles with tofu
Snack: small m&s choc bar and a flat white
T: cheese sandwiches with crisps, then a big portion of strawberry ice cream

Getting a cold and have been so tired so needed to comfort eat. Ah well!

greengreyblue · 23/01/2025 21:46

Hope you enjoyed it @Cashew1 . Get well soon x

Thank you and well done with the loss. I do think I struggle with a binge and restrict cycle, anyone else? I'm worried about this diet long term for me because of that.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 24/01/2025 08:10

Well done @greengreyblue, you're a shit down! 🤣 And fab nearly being at your target weight too 🙌🏼

Cashew1 · 24/01/2025 08:34

One unhealthy day and I'm up three lbs? Must be a fluctuation as was going in the right direction when I tentatively weighed a few days ago!

How annoying. Cannot be fat, just water retention from carbs / salt etc.

I don’t tend to do that but I think it’s really healthy that you’re recognising a pattern in yourself and reassessing if this way of eating is a fit for you. If it’s triggering unhealthy habits, perhaps it’s not the best. Or maybe it’s just you’re under the weather. Have a rethink when you’re feeling better maybe ?
