61.5 is good @greengreyblue , but I can understand the impatience. I’m sure you’ll soon be back where you want to be.

welcome @GrannyInTheGarden !

17 hour fast here. Sweet potato wedges with tomato sauce and a bit of cheese for lunch.

DH ordered a big fruity flapjack at about 10am and kept offering me it. I stuck to my guns!

Black bean loaded nachos tonight and a few glasses of wine I dare say.

lechatnoir · 17/01/2025 15:22

16 hours today - must stop eating my evening meal so late as I really can't do a late lunch (I wfh in the kitchen so it's like a constant reminder!). Lunch was leftover salmon & leek spaghetti with some broccoli and dinner tonight a filled omelette (onion, mushroom & spinach) & salad. I'm aiming for 18 hours tonight as I can eat dinner earliest and then busy all morning so should manage a decent stretch.

I'm not quite 'back in the game' yet as had too many work & social events that have scuppered my plans this week but a clear diary ahead and aiming to get rid of a few pounds I'm still holding on to from Christmas.

lechatnoir · 17/01/2025 15:24

@jumpintheline load nachos sounds good I might have to steal that for Saturday night comfort food. Are they a fully loaded high fat/carb version or do you tweak somehow?

greengreyblue · 17/01/2025 16:08

@jumpintheline Iknow it’s not loads but given the rise to 62 , between new year and last week when I was fasting , was a surprise , it’s all the more annoying.
18 hr fast
lunch: chicken salad , a pear
dinner will be prawns and avocado with salad.
Goimg to my DDs gym tonight for a workout/ swim and sauna. Hope that sweats it out! 😂

I’m not sure how healthy they are! They’re a Meera Sodha recipe my DH prob makes every other month - we love it 😁

jumpintheline · 17/01/2025 16:15

We don’t bother keeping it vegan I should add. We use creme fraiche and I like some grated cheese 👌🏼

Ilikeyoursleeves · 17/01/2025 16:47

Hi all and welcome @GrannyInTheGarden!

I did 16.5 hours today, I was soooo hungry by mid morning. Had a banana and grapes then lunch was a ham salad wrap, an orange and packet of crisps.

A choc biscuit for mid PM snack cos I was hungry again!

I'm having a Chinese take away tonight which I want to enjoy guilt free and may still be eating prawn crackers when The Traitors comes on! I'll just eat from lunchtime on so might even manage a 16 hour fast 😊

Ilikeyoursleeves · 17/01/2025 19:02

@greengreyblue that's a pound loss you've made isn't it? Which is great! Slow and steady. (I work in lbs not kg). I hope you don't feel too disheartened and keep going.

I've just had a huge Chinese so the fasting timer is on and prawn crackers are being finished by the kids!

lechatnoir · 17/01/2025 19:05

@jumpintheline I'm having this tomorrow & yes will also add grated cheese 😁 I'll be buying a tin of refried beans as I'm working so need a nice easy quick meal and bloody love the tinned stuff!

Cashew1 · 17/01/2025 19:29

18 hour fast

Lunch: omelette with tomatoes, onions, asparagus and cheddar
Dinner: bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes and cucumber, a few nuts, some dark chocolate and some toasted corn

Away for the weekend with family will try to keep the fasting up if they let me skip breakfast!

greengreyblue · 17/01/2025 20:04

Just back from gym with DD. Did an hour in gym and then a swim and steam/ jacuzzi and sauna. Just eaten a prawn and avo salad with wholemeal pitta. So tired. @Ilikeyoursleeves i know it is a pound off but the gain was unexpected so that’s why I’m miffed .

You’re doing very well on the fitness front @greengreyblue, well done!

That’s one thing that has fallen by the way for me unfortunately since I went back to work full time last September. I used to exercise 5 times per week; a mixture of swimming and HIIT workouts. I just don’t seem able to find the time for it at the moment as I’m shattered by the time I get home. But I am pretty much on my feet all day so I am at least getting my steps in.

Weighed this morning and I am steadfastly sticking at 9st 6 so I think the 1lb drop was just an anomaly. I am not prepared to go any further really in terms of fasting but am happy to carry on as I am as I actually enjoy eating this way. So I think this is probably it for me weight wise.

Going out for a big lunch today so will do OMAD. This is what I love about this WOE, you can work it around your daily life and not feel like you are abstaining too much. You still get to indulge whilst also keeping things on track.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 18/01/2025 12:52

Happy weekend all!

18 hour fast today, just back from a 10k walk where I felt fine despite no breakfast. I had a huge Chinese last night though so I still wasn't hungry this morning!

Now breaking my fast with a prawn salad wrap, grapes and some crisps. No weigh in for me til Wed

greengreyblue · 18/01/2025 13:37

Still same weight this morning. @Rollergirl11 that’s a great maintain despite less exercise. I’m in school too and rarely sit down so I guess we get something out of that.
18 hr fast
fried egg on spelt sourdough toast(1small slice) and watercress salad with half an avocado. An apple.
Been walking around shops all morning and so steps at 6000 already pre dog walk.
NSV ( non scale victory) is I bought size 10 jeans and a size 8 coat this morning!😉

@jumpintheline will be making those nachos soon. 👍🏻

Kept up the fasting yday on my trip away visiting family.

Yesterday was 18 hour fast

L: halloumi wrap with a salad, coleslaw and a few shared chips
D: quiche, salad, a few cheese and crackers and some other bits and pieces

Cautiously hoping for a loss this week as period almost done so weight should reset a bit.

Rollergirl11 · 19/01/2025 09:35

The scales say 9st 5 again this morning after an OMAD day yesterday. An going to try and hold out till normal time fur lunch today which will put me at around 23 hour fast for today.
Lunch will be hummus, carrot and pita bread and DH is cooking steak & chips for dinner.

Have a feeling that the weight loss will be short lived though as soon as I go back to usual routine. I think if I want to lose more I will need to change things up a bit and not sure I’m prepared to do that. I could stop having the milk in my first coffee of the day. I could cut out the little bit of chocolate I have sometimes when I return from work. But if I do that I feel like I’m making it that little bit harder for myself on a daily basis.

We shall see. I have an extra busy 2 weeks ahead of me at work with Year 10 mocks that I am overseeing. Will mean an earlier start in the morning so potentially could translate to the scales.

Good that you’ve managed to keep it up while visiting family @Cashew1!

greengreyblue · 19/01/2025 09:46

@Rollergirl11 thats fab! Think I might do OMAD today. My body just does not seem to want to go lower at the moment. Was up again this morning at 61.9.🙄

OP posts:
Rollergirl11 · 19/01/2025 10:35

Try not to get disheartened @greengreyblue (I know that’s easier said than done). I’ve usually found that when your body is being a bit stubborn about holding on to the weight, that if you persevere, you will be rewarded with a big whoosh. Hold tight and fingers crossed for you.

jumpintheline · 19/01/2025 12:37

19 hour fast - stopped eating quite early yesterday at 5pm after a family get together. Benefit of a big lunch and no need for dinner!

Weighing slightly up at 63.1 or 9 stone 13. Have downloaded the app that goes with my scales and gonna keep up with daily weighing to try and see an overall trend.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 19/01/2025 13:07

18 hour fast here today and I was sooo tempted to eat lots last night when we were watching a film. My kids were tucking into all sorts of goodies and it took all my will power to stay away!

Lunch was a boiled egg, slice of toast and a homemade smoothie (blueberries, banana, raspberries, orange, spinach, strawberry yogurt and some chia seeds)

Keep the faith folks, weight always seems to go up and down but we probably don't normally realise if we don't weigh every day or every few days! Slow and steady wins the race ☺️

greengreyblue · 19/01/2025 14:40

I’m still fasting. On nearly 20 hrs . Just been for a long dog walk. About to start coking a roast chicken dinner of sorts. Will be OMAD. Hanging in there for a downward trend on the numbers.

OP posts:
Ilikeyoursleeves · 19/01/2025 15:07

Oh that's long @greengreyblue! Keep going! The max I've done is 19 hours I think. Your roast sounds like a lovely reward for all that fasting 😊

I've had a few chocs this aft (still so much Xmas choc here!) and now going to tidy the garden a bit so that will burn a few calories hopefully

Cashew1 · 19/01/2025 17:25

18 hour fast

L: Mexican salad bowl with beans and lots of veggies
D: sandwich with a few crisps, veggies and hummus and a brunch bar

Pleased I kept up a strong clean fast for two days away!

SeekingTreasures · 19/01/2025 17:27

All the best with the fasting for all who've extended them this weekend.

I'm still sticking to 16/8 and low carbing. The results are feeling to be rather slow and steady. But, that's probably because I just would love to give myself a quick shake and have the pounds drop off me without a bother!!

Clearly, with that in my mind, any realistic rhythm will be feeling slow to me right now ! 😅
