Day 1 of this adventure. I’ve got a headache but will soon be going to bed.
My eating window today was 8am-4pm. I’ve got so much to shift & hope I can keep this up. Anyone else want to join?

Can I join please? I really need to shift at least 2 and a half stone. I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been. Since going on HRT, I've packed on at least 2 stone.

CW: 12st8
TW: 10 St

Will probably aim for a 1pm to 9pm eating window as have a set lunchtime at work. The hardest part will be resisting the goodies the Boss provides at work. 🤣

Can I join in!
I am doing the 800fast. I am fasting from. 8pm to 12pm
Day five 3bls down yesterday, I will weigh myself Saturday morning next.
Today was a bit tough and I struggled with my 30 mins exercise program (but it is Caroline Girvan and did involve renegade rows and some thrusts).
Will go for a walk after work.

But feeling positive.

How do you find Caroline Girvan? I’ve seen her mentioned a few times on Mumsnet. I also really need to get my arse in gear and do some regular exercise.

Eating window was 1-5pm today. I made a really good bean chilli for the kids and ate when they ate. Had some sour cream and cheese with it but that’s the beauty of fasting hey?! Am struggling now as I went for an outdoor swim this evening and that always makes me hungry, so am mainlining peppermint tea.

Welcome @EbbandTheWanderingHearts and @Mangolover123 - more the merrier 😁

greengreyblue · 07/08/2024 22:32

1pm Lunch: 2 eggs on 1 piece of sourdough toast spread thinly with alioli, apple, pear.
5.45pm Dinner: Spanish chicken with butter bean mash. Satsuma
Movement: over 10k + steps and an hour of tennis.

It's my second day of 17:7 and I've just had a sandwich for lunch (eating window is 12-7pm but more like 12-6.15pm), which I was desperate for and it was delicious.

I'm in a terrible mood, though, and think changing my medication schedule is affecting me. Yesterday I felt surprisingly positive in the evening; not normal for me! I don't know if it's the medication lasting longer into the day or the lack of overeating, or neither. I'll keep experimenting.

greengreyblue · 08/08/2024 16:24

It really does make you more mindful of what you eat because you really appreciate each meal.
Today: 18 hr fast
Lunch :12.45 leftover butter bean mash, smoked mackerel fillet, lots of salad, apple.
Dinner: making pulled pork as I have a meat craving. Will eat with homemade red cabbage coleslaw and a small flatbread.

Food tastes so much better after a fast doesn’t it

sounds tricky with the meds - perhaps your body will adapt as it gets more used to the new routine?

Im so hungry today! Am luteal phase which always makes me hungrier. Have had grapes, apple, a pret bar, a chicken avo sandwich, a bag of salty popcorn … not sure on dinner but I could eat a horse.

Stayed the same at today’s weigh-in but maintained the post holiday loss.. Wanted to see more loss before weekend but have to trust the process All of my clothes feel looser even if scales not caught up .Today’s fast will be 20hrs as I’m meeting my sister for lunch later. Have a good weekend all.

Hopefully you’ll see the drop at your next weigh in.

I’m nervous to weigh as i don’t think I’ll like it! I’ve stuck to fasting all week but the food in my eating window has not been great… today had an enormous ice cream at lunch time! It was so good though!

I’ve had a terribly upset tummy all evening though so perhaps will show a loss. Not the best way to do it though 😟

greengreyblue · 09/08/2024 20:37

Hope so 🤞🏻.Hope you feel better.Didn’t eat until gone 2,30 so at least 20 hrs. Made me think I could do 24hrs as I felt fine .
lunch at 2.40: chickpea
tagine with small cous cous and flatbread portion.
dinner at 7.30: homemade spinach and ricotta cannelloni with tomato sauce, salad , red wine.
Over 10k steps on phone with two dog walks.

Queencam · 09/08/2024 21:01

I’ve felt fine doing 20 hours a few times too - and it made me think the same thing re 24 hours!

bakewellbride · 09/08/2024 21:47

Hi, can I please join this thread. I know next to nothing about fasting but want to learn and give it a try! Going to finish eating tomorrow at 3pm then have nothing until 7am.

What are the benefits of doing this? Keen to learn. So far I just like the idea of it and have a vague awareness it's healthy.

bakewellbride · 09/08/2024 22:11

Are any of you fasting just once a week? I think that's what I'll start with.

Octopus45 · 10/08/2024 08:44

Hi, two days to go before my holiday, was up a pound this morning and up another half pound this morning. Have still been eating within the window, but had a Chinese last night. I'm aiming to stick to no breakfast whilst I'm away, hopefully that way there wont be a gain. Sounds as if everyone else is doing well.

Rollergirl11 · 10/08/2024 08:52

Hi there, I’ve been doing for just over a week now. Got my scales sorted and weighed last Sunday. Unfortunately I haven’t lost anything so far. This is what I was concerned about as I wasn’t eating breakfast before I started and therefore not too dissimilar to my usual WOE.

i have an 8 hour eating window; sometimes less. Yesterday I ate at 1pm and finished my dinner just before 8pm. I am still having milk in the one coffee I have in my fasting time. And other than cutting out things like chocolate, biscuits and sweets I am still eating normally within my window. I am still eating crisps at lunchtime for instance.

Is not losing anything yet normal or do I need to make a change? If so what should I look to cut out? The milk in my coffee or the crisps or both?! 😱

greengreyblue · 10/08/2024 08:53

@Octopus45 It’s probably water weight. I notice if I eat a salty meal or bread, it takes a day or two to go back down even if it’s within the window and or the calorie amount. I think I’ve reread the body needs more water to process those things so holds it.

greengreyblue · 10/08/2024 08:57

@bakewellbride Hi, no I haven’t . Do you mean a 24 hr fast? I think I could and maybe it’s a way to maintain in future.

Rollergirl11 · 10/08/2024 09:16

Thanks for that @greengreyblue, I’ll have a listen.

greengreyblue · 10/08/2024 09:20

No worries. It’s long! I just had it on while I pottered about. Really interesting.

bakewellbride · 10/08/2024 12:43

Im going to start my first fast at 3pm until 7pm. Has anyone got any words of wisdom? What are the health benefits? I'm already quite thin, is it safe to do weekly? X

Did you mean to write 3-7pm?

bakewellbride · 10/08/2024 14:48

Sorry I obviously meant 3pm - 7am.

bakewellbride · 10/08/2024 14:48

So 16 hours
