Day 1 of this adventure. I’ve got a headache but will soon be going to bed.
My eating window today was 8am-4pm. I’ve got so much to shift & hope I can keep this up. Anyone else want to join?

Welcome back @TennisToday . When I started in June I had a splash of skimmed milk in my tea and still lost. I made the transition to green tea as I’ve always liked it anyway, just got out of the habit. Go with what’s easier to start off with- good luck.

GameOfJones · 27/11/2024 08:13

@TennisToday I often have breakfast things for lunch as I like them and don't want to miss out....e.g yesterday's porridge at 1pm!

I have lost another 1lb this week taking me to a weight I haven't seen in years. 13st 10lbs down from 15st 1lb.

I'm planning OMAD today but not sure what dinner will be. We are trying to eat down the freezer so whatever I can scavenge out of there I think!

Queencam · 27/11/2024 09:12

That is a massive win on the IBS front @Cashew1
Welcome @TennisToday - full disclosure, I have a splash of milk in my coffee during fasts and I've been losing weight still.

Grazing and eating the kids food has crept up since I had the tummy bug! Definitely slacked off a bit over the last week. Haven't weighed in yet, but anticipating a gain.

TennisToday · 27/11/2024 12:11

Thanks @Queencam and @GameOfJones

24 hour OMAD today. I can do this…..

Trying to think of all the clothes that I currently can’t fit into comfortably and that I can’t afford to buy new clothes!!!

Clearingaspace · 27/11/2024 15:24

Good luck @TennisToday

I am the same in that my fasts end up shorter because of my love of milky drinks! However my splashes of milk can be as much as a latte so definitely break my fasts, but sometimes I would rather just have a milky drink and fast for fewer hours. Low carb high fat things like coconut oil or cream are usually recommended if something is needed in drinks but Mindy pelz also says a fasted snack can be something that doesn’t make you more hungry after eating it, is under 200 calories <18g fat, 5g protein, 4g carbs - so to me this means 80g of semi skimmed milk would technically be ok and only 40 calories. The only thing close to the limit is carbs. My coffee usually has more like 100 ml but maybe I can get it down to 80!

greengreyblue · 27/11/2024 16:02

@TennisToday Dr Jason Fung does say that some people eat something light like a small green salad that wouldn’t spike insulin much. I think it depends how much you have to lose. As I wasn’t overweight I have found I have to be quite strict to lose.
18 hr fast
lunch: tune of tuna mixed with olives, tomato, cucumber and radish. An apple
dinner: will be penne pasta with tomato and mozzarella and basil, some fruit.

GameOfJones · 27/11/2024 18:54

Hope today went well @TennisToday . I managed 24 hours..... I haven't done that in a while but it was actually fine!

Queencam · 27/11/2024 19:55

18 hour fast today then dahl soul with spinach for lunch. Snacked on some pannetone… grapes and a bit of cheese. Had some of the kids lasagne at tea time plus have had half an avocado on sourdough toast! It’s too much isn’t it… I’m post ovulation and the progesterone is already making me hungrier…

greengreyblue · 28/11/2024 16:16

18.5 hr fast today
lunch: roasted veg salad with whipped feta
after work snack of mixed nuts
dinner: turkey steak with roasted veg and potatoes.

Cashew1 · 28/11/2024 18:54

Well I just had a toasted seedy bread sandwich with cheese, tomato and red onion. Been thinking about it all week and Friday is the only night I don’t cook for everyone. It hit the spot.

Well done!!! I am very jealous. I’ve been stuck at 9st 9 for 2 weeks now so could do with another loss!

I’m actually feeling under the weather; have a horrible cold and sore throat. But have Monday off work so looking forward to a long weekend. And then 3 weeks left at work before Christmas holidays. Has been a long term!

greengreyblue · 29/11/2024 21:08

Ah you’ll be due a loss next week @Rollergirl11 . I was so surprised to see a lower number all of a sudden. Get well soon poorly people. So many bugs and viruses doing the rounds at school. I’ve escaped so far apart from a minor cold .

Queencam · 30/11/2024 08:10

Nice work on another drop @greengreyblue !

it’s slow but it does go in the right direction if you stick with it doesn’t it

i still haven’t weighed. Am in progesterone phase and find I’m consistently heavier, so may until after my period to get a more accurate trend.

Still fasting, still probably eating too much crap 😅 especially now it’s almost December…

greengreyblue · 30/11/2024 08:21

@Queencam sounds sensible. I am trying hard not to start sliding into mindless eating just because of the festive period. I’m not a go early on Christmas person anyway- no tree here until mid December. I did have a single Celebration choccy yesterday that was in the kitchen at work but for the most part I feel quite strong. Went to have wine last night but having that Panorama documentary in my head I did think twice. Ended up having half a glass topped up with lots of sparkling water. Didn’t have any more. Trying to cut right back unless it’s an occasion for my health a waistline . Will see if I can anyway.
60.9 kg this morning. 0.1kg down and every little helps.😂

Queencam · 30/11/2024 08:42

What was the Panorama program?
I definitely feel more conscious about what I’m drinking these days… but do love my wine

greengreyblue · 30/11/2024 09:10

It was about increase in liver disease among women who are not alcoholics. I’m not going to give up but have been thinking for a long time how normal it is these days to drink a bottle of wine and not be considered to have a problem. 😬

Cashew1 · 30/11/2024 10:13

I gave up drinking about six months ago, I was never a big drinker but I was finding it made me make bad food choices and made my ibs worse. Feel better for it!

greengreyblue · 30/11/2024 18:05

Well done @Cashew1 I’m glad it’s working for you. I just want to cut out the habitual drinks and keep the enjoyable . Today we went for a lovely long ( 10,000 steps) dog walk and passed a gorgeous country pub. It was mild enough to sit outside as we were dressed for a dog walk. I had a lovely glass of wine , really enjoyed it but not having another.
18 hr fast
lunch: half a lentil pouch with salad , avocado and feta and an apple
dinner: half mince/ half lentil lasagne ( bechamel made with skimmed milk and only on top layer) with green salad.

TennisToday · 30/11/2024 19:19

Well done for those who have lost and don’t lose heart for those who are working towards their goals!

So this week I did 2 OMAD - 23ish hour fasts and 2 18/6. Decided that’s my limit I need a couple of days off as I need to work on healthy eating on my non if days - mostly just having 3 meals and not grazing. I eat pretty healthily but just non stop sometimes!

TennisToday · 30/11/2024 19:21

Re. Drinking - I had a couple of glasses of wine last night and then stuffed my face with crisps and today have had more crisps. It definitely messes with my eating. I am not a big drinker (have a 2 drinks max rule and only 2 nights a week if that) but I bloody love it and would really miss it ☹️

Well done those who are alcohol free!

TennisToday · 30/11/2024 19:23

@greengreyblue it was so mild today! I totally over dressed for my dog walk. Do not blame you for the glass of wine! How could you not!
