Day 1 of this adventure. I’ve got a headache but will soon be going to bed.
My eating window today was 8am-4pm. I’ve got so much to shift & hope I can keep this up. Anyone else want to join?

It was nice and very filling despite it mostly being sandwiches, took my daughter for her birthday.

Ooh sounds lovely

Queencam · 18/11/2024 08:45

Yesterday I ate some pasta at lunch and had a packet of hula hoops snack in the evening. Tummy very much unsettled and lots of tummy pain after eating although no more vomiting thank god.

Having a peppermint tea this morning will prob fast until lunchtime and have something bland.

It’s mad how your appetite disappears with these bugs. Just no urge to eat. Like a high intensity fast before Christmas- probably what was needed although I hate being ill!

Clearingaspace · 18/11/2024 10:04

@Queencam glad you are feeling a little better.

well done on the weekend omad - I think knowing a lovely meal in store makes a big difference!

@GameOfJones excellent plan for the day! Love the sound of the two meals you have picked. What type of stuff do you do at the gym?

so despite my 24 hour fast over fri/sat after this weekend I am up a lb - am a little gutted, but I know I could have eaten less bread and yummy cheese! No alcohol, chips or chocolate or anything like that though so I am still a bit cross 🤪.

On the upside I have been using a new free app called easy fast and have fasted 8 days in a row - even though I didn’t do a sat evening one, so that pleased me seeing a nice complete row of fasts.

greengreyblue · 18/11/2024 16:50

@Clearingaspace its probably just water that gets stored after carbs like bread and pasta. Bet it will come off in a day or two.
@Queencam glad you’re over the worst.
19 hr fast
lunch: lentils with feta and salad, an apple
dunner: just cooking spag bol with wholewheat spaghetti.

Cashew1 · 18/11/2024 18:15

23 hour fast 💪

Overnight oats
Leftover curry and rice

Clearingaspace · 18/11/2024 18:44

Well done on your fasts @Cashew1 and @greengreyblue love the lack of fuss from everyone except me!

i bailed on my fast 2 hours in with a cup of tea as decided to have the family roast chicken in a bit! Will try to skip breakfast and maybe do omad tomorrow.

greengreyblue · 19/11/2024 16:29

18 hr fast
lunch: tin of tuna mixed with yoghurt, olives, tomatoes, spring onions and radishes. Mixed in a couple of tablespoons of orzo. An apple
dinner: just making a sausage and root veg traybake with Yorkshire pud and gravy. Need warming up!

Cashew1 · 19/11/2024 20:25

19 hour fast

Courgette pancake
Cottage cheese and crackers
Leftover curry and rice
Chocolate crispy cake

Think I'm maintaining unless I really eat very very little on this diet. Will be a slow march for the last half stone I think!

Clearingaspace · 19/11/2024 21:05

I love reading what you guys are eating! I skipped breakfast but had quite a lot of milky coffee so not counting as a fast. Lunch chicken risotto and dinner stir fry frozen veg with tuna steak and quinoa. Happy as I didn’t have bread today.

Queencam · 19/11/2024 21:53

17 hour fast.
haricot bean pot with spinach and a fried egg for lunch
some earl grey tea cake for an afternoon pick me up with a coffee…
Chicken jalfrezi, dal and rice for dinner

GameOfJones · 19/11/2024 22:21

@Clearingaspace I try to focus on resistance at the gym. So either cycling (slowly) on the highest resistance setting or using the weight machines. I like the rowing machines too as they work almost your whole body. I basically put a podcast or my music on and just view it as "me time".

A 17 hour fast for me today and meals were not very inspired as it's been a busy day. Bran flakes with milk and chopped fruit and then beans on toast. I did over 11,000 steps and am going to do a bit of yoga then head to bed as I'm hungry!

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 20/11/2024 11:14

I have been absent. well done to everyone else for keeping going. After a ridiculous few weeks into early november, I was pleased I hadn't gained much, but I wasn't sure I'd got much better. I've been fasting, mostly, but not 100% of the time and some cheats. And also, while not shoving food in my mouth willy nilly, also not being obsessive. So I was pleased to get on the scale today and see I'm back down to my lowest amount. Frustrated that I can't seem to get past this, but considering how erratic I've been the last 6 weeks or so, I can't complain. Also, based on where I am in my cycle, I would usually expect my weight to have bumped up a bit so maybe if I get back on track I can finally see a drop before my next period. Crossing my fingers.

I have some leftover lentils in a pouch for lunch today with some feta but can't work out what ese to add. I have no beetroot. I do have tomotoes so maybe I'll airfry roast those with some garlic and add them?

greengreyblue · 20/11/2024 16:22

Sounds up my street @IdLikeToBeAFraser well done for getting back on it!
18 hr fast
lunch: boiled egg with cottage cheese and avocado salad, an apple. Bit of a combo but was tasty and I’m maki g an effort to up protein.
dinner: just roasting a chicken to serve with lots of roasted peppers, onions and courgettes, bulgur wheat.
@GameOfJones I’m impressed with all of your activity. I’ve just been keeping up my dog walks and I’m doing squats and lower abdo exercises daily plus plank and tricep pus ups. I’ve also been doing that thing where you cross your arms over your chest and sit down on the floor and get up and down without arms .I do as many as I can. Supposed to be a good indicator of strength as you age.

Cashew1 · 20/11/2024 17:41

18 hour fast
Overnight oats
Cottage cheese with crackers
Dinner will be fried rice with eggs tofu and lots of veg

GameOfJones · 20/11/2024 20:11

@greengreyblue squats and planks are great! I used to do 10 squats every time I went to the loo which added up throughout the day as I have a very weak bladder 🤣..... I need to get back to it!

22 hour fast for me today.....my longest in a while and OMAD of halloumi and veg stir fry.

Queencam · 20/11/2024 21:09

Good to read exercise chat. I am doing zero and need to address!

Lowest weight recorded here at 60.7kg - or 9.5 stone. I am chuffed but also conscious it’s come about after a bout of illness and a sickness-induced 36 hour fast at the weekend.

Will see if continued 16:8 fasting maintains the loss… but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s back up a little in a few weeks as I start eating more normally.

greengreyblue · 20/11/2024 21:51

Ah @Queencam i knew there would be a silver lining. Although sickness bugs are the worst. Hope you maintain it. There’s one going round my school at the moment.

greengreyblue · 21/11/2024 16:53

18hr fast
lunch: chicken salad , apple
dinner: will be ricotta and spinach cannelloni.

Cashew1 · 21/11/2024 20:38

18 hour fast

Omad but a four course Michelin star lunch! What a treat

greengreyblue · 22/11/2024 07:19

Weigh day. No movement on the scales but have maintained my lowest weight all week so I’m pleased with that at least. Did have pasta last night which isn’t great for water weight before weighing. Hoping there will be a sudden whoosh for the final kilogram. It’s so hard won!
Happy Friday!

greengreyblue · 22/11/2024 07:20

18 hour fast

Omad but a four course Michelin star lunch! What a treat

Fancy Pants! 😂

BuddhaofSuburbia · 22/11/2024 07:51

I want to try doing this . I have four stones to lose and am just into the diabetic range. Terrifying. I need to do something.

GameOfJones · 22/11/2024 08:01

@BuddhaofSuburbia I have a similar amount of weight to lose, do join us on here if you want to.... we're a friendly bunch!

@Cashew1 very jealous of your Michelin star meal! What did you have?

I did a 19 hour fast yesterday. Lunch was a 300 calorie ready meal as I just wanted something hot but with vegetables. Dinner was spicy chickpea and pepper wraps.

I'm back to my previous low of 13st 11lbs, I haven't lost as much as I'd wanted but if I can lose a few more lbs and keep them off I'll have lost 1.5 stone this year which is better than if I hadn't started fasting when I'd probably have put 1.5 stone on!

I'm planning on OMAD today as I have steak, chips and asparagus planned for tonight and I cannot wait!

Queencam · 22/11/2024 08:55

@Cashew1 ooooooh sounds amazing, do you recommend?

@GameOfJones nice work getting back down to your lowest

@greengreyblue id definitely take a maintain

Welcome @BuddhaofSuburbia ! Most of us are following something similar to 16:8. You soon get into the swing of it

Cashew1 · 22/11/2024 14:50

Highly recommend but thankfully I wasn't paying!

16 hour fast here and so far peanut butter and banana on toast

Probably some sort of tofu ramen noodles with my daughter

Clothes looser but scale not budging so may avoid the scale for a little bit to avoid a morale drain

Welcome @BuddhaofSuburbia !
