Day 1 of this adventure. I’ve got a headache but will soon be going to bed.
My eating window today was 8am-4pm. I’ve got so much to shift & hope I can keep this up. Anyone else want to join?

Hope you have a lovely time in Spain @Cashew1. I haven’t been away yet whilst I’ve been fasting but I think maybe I’d go somewhere in the middle. Maybe shorten fasting window but not worry what you’re eating within it? You don’t want to undo your progress but at the same time you want to enjoy your holiday.

After having pretty much a month of not too much movement I have dropped another 2lb in this last week alone and am weighing in at 9 st 12 this morning! I have a feeling I might fluctuate up and down again for the next few weeks. I’ve observed this is what seems to be happening with my progress; as in i have an initial whoosh and then spend a period of time gaining and loosing the same few lbs before settling at the lower weight.

greengreyblue · 27/10/2024 10:02

Well done @Rollergirl11 !

Cashew1 · 27/10/2024 11:29

Thanks all!

Am enjoying the sun and have skipped breakfast so far but will probably have some evening flex.

Octopus45 · 27/10/2024 12:50

Well done @Rollergirl11 2 pounds in a week is fab. Sounds as if everyone is doing really well. I'm clawing a bit of determination back, my mood hasn't been great the last week or so, but I had my acupuncture the other day and can carry on doing it at home once a week, so hoping that might help my mood and energy levels. Exercise hasn't been as good as it could have been cause I've been having to wait in for deliveries and appointments, but hopefully should do better. Have plateaued at 8st11.75 (as of Friday), lowest I saw was 8st10.5 a few weeks ago. Would love to be 8st7 for Christmas/my Birthday, but will have to see. Going to Munich at the beginning of December and need to work out how to navigate food over Christmas. Hope everyone is enjoying the sun today

Had a lovely family roast yesterday with guests and did skip breakfast but indulged . Was a 19 hr fast. Weighed this morning at 63.2/9st 13 so I’m 3 lb up from lowest weight of 9st 10. I think some is water but…
going to see if I can go all day today and eat early this evening to try to shake it up a bit. Off this week so will be more movement too.

greengreyblue · 28/10/2024 17:02

I didn’t last past lunchtime. Had a tuna salad and an apple.Just making ginger chicken rice noodles.

Rollergirl11 · 28/10/2024 17:40

We had family over for lunch yesterday. Broke fast at 2pm so 18 hours. But then had nibbles, crackers with smoked mackerel pate, yummy creamy pasta and then lemon pavlova. Felt so completely full after all that so didn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day.

Then DD (home from uni) and I went to Spitalfields and Brick lane market today. Had some lovely street food and then some berry crumble with whipped cream. According to DD it’s TikTok famous so who am I to refuse?! 😬 Thinking I might try and not eat again for the rest of the day for damage limitation but it’s tricky to do that when DD is around as I don’t want her to see me restricting what I’m eating.

greengreyblue · 29/10/2024 08:42

Weighed this morning and was 63.2 yesterday and 62.7 this morning. Still up 2lb/1kg but going back down. Trying hard not to fixate on numbers on the scale.

greengreyblue · 29/10/2024 08:43

@Rollergirl11 that crumble shop is good. Can’t remember the name.

Everyone has fluctuations so please don't obsess or worry. ❤️

Enviable · 29/10/2024 10:46

I had quite a big day of eating on Sunday (I enjoy food and don't want to control myself all the time!) and I've been so hungry yesterday and today (Mon. & Tues.)! It's like I've got to train my body all over again to fast for my fasting times, even though I was really getting used to it.

I'm finding it a bit tricky to know whether it's "working" in terms of losing weight, because I'm not weighing myself (eating disorder history) and trying to judge it by how my clothes feel, but that means that when I'm bloated my waistbands are tight and I feel as though I must've gained loads of weight. I'm not as aware of other body parts and how I might've lost weight/inches on my arms, boobs, legs, so I don't get that positive reinforcement if this is working for me!

Rollergirl11 · 29/10/2024 10:59

@greengreyblue its called Humble crumble. There were queues out the door and along the outside of the shop. 100% worth it though!

greengreyblue · 29/10/2024 11:20

Yes that’s it!!@Rollergirl11
@Enviable thank you and you’re right. I was just thinking about why I have 9st 7 in my head as a target and it’s because that will take me to 22 bmi. I’m currently just over 23. . I know eat healthily and not just because it’s good for me, I happen to love lots of healthy food. What I should be focussing on at 53 is drinking less at the weekend and exercising. This will get me to that target. Just have to do it!

greengreyblue · 29/10/2024 18:26

18 hr fast
lunch: prawn and cottage cheese salad, an apple
dinner: sausage and spinach canneloni with a side salad. A pear.

Queencam · 29/10/2024 19:46

Some tasty weekend food here!

we’ve been at the in laws. Kept up with fasting but ate more carbs and drank more than usual. Feel like we’re on half term rules now with a glass of wine every evening… the scales are not going to like me!

GameOfJones · 30/10/2024 07:43

@Queencam I've been struggling a bit with half term too and we've been away for a mini break. More alcohol and more snacking unfortunately but we had a lovely time and I've tried to stick to my fasting.

The issue is I've been MUCH hungrier since I've been eating later. E.g. yesterday I only did 13 hours and caved at 9am because I woke up really hungry. I don't normally get that when I'm in a proper fasting routine. I had eggs on toast for breakfast and then skipped lunch instead and had dinner with the children. Chicken and orzo with broccoli, carrots, roast tomatoes and courgettes.

We got some bad news about DD1. She has a minor health issue and is going to need an operation. She's only 7 so I'm worried about her and being put under anaesthetic. I keep reminding myself that it's only day surgery and fortunately isn't anything very serious but neither of my DDs have ever been in hospital so I'm a bit concerned. I stayed away from the wine and chocolate yesterday which I'd normally have turned to when stressed so I'll take that as a small victory.

So, it's a bit all over the place at the minute but I'm back to work today so hoping to get back to a routine. I stopped eating at 6pm yesterday and am planning to get to 20+ hours today.

greengreyblue · 30/10/2024 08:32

@GameOfJones I know that worry. DD had emergency surgery at 4 and I was terrified but all was well. Once the shock has passed you’ll hopefully be able to plan and feel more in control.
Sounds like you balanced your eating well anyway by missing lunch. I’m weighing daily to see this gain off. Today I am down again to 62.3/9st11. So just 1 lb off my original low.

All the best to you and your daughter.

Keeping up the fasts on holiday which skipping breakfast but definitely some window creep and suspect I will have gained but ah well.

I dont drink as it flares my IBS so that's a win at least on this trip!

greengreyblue · 30/10/2024 17:20

That’s good @Cashew1
18 hr fast
lunch: poached egg on half a pouch of French lentils( Aldi) with some feta and yoghurt. An apole
dinner: chicken curry with basmati rice.
Had two good walks today as have all week so I’m hoping that’s helping.

Cashew1 · 31/10/2024 09:11

I think all of my evening snacking here is going to undermine my good progress. We haven't been able to do a lot due to the flooding in Spain so a lot of time in has meant I have been snacking in the window!

Cashew1 · 31/10/2024 09:16

Yesterday was an 18 hour fast

Lunch was porridge with fruit and honey, and a piece of toast with cream cheese and cucumber

Tea was a homemade tofu and veg curry with coconut milk

Evening snacks of crisps, sweets, chocolate, oh no 🍫

greengreyblue · 31/10/2024 09:58

@Cashew1 shame about the floods on your holiday. 😔.
I’ve stayed the same this morning( daily weighing at the mo) so 62.3kg. About to do some floor exercises and walk the dog before hanging my new curtains and then lunch( best part of the day😂)

Queencam · 31/10/2024 13:23

Sorry to hear about your daughter @GameOfJones - hope you don't have to wait long for the operation and that she has a smooth and swift recovery.

Gain on the scales for me today 😣 Up to 63kg. Was 61.5kg on the last weigh! I've been sticking to fasting but had more carbs and wine on weekend with inlaws and now half term / Halloween loose diet. I also feel really bloated and am post ovulation so I'm hoping some of it is water and not a true weight gain.

Will plod on with the fasting..

greengreyblue · 31/10/2024 15:49

If my gain is anything to go by it will come right off again when you reset. 🤞🏻
19 hr fast
lunch: other half of French lentil pouch, half an avocado sliced and some cottage cheese, an apple.
dinner: will be something with turkey steak- can’t quite gather motivation.
Big walk this morning and been sorting out cupboards which is one of my fave half term jobs. I’m easily pleased!

greengreyblue · 01/11/2024 16:28

Unintentional 21 hr fast. Thought about 24 but was cold after being out all day and couldn’t face it.
3.30pm- 2 whole grain rice cakes with cottage cheese and half an avocado. About 10 almonds.
