Day 1 of this adventure. I’ve got a headache but will soon be going to bed.
My eating window today was 8am-4pm. I’ve got so much to shift & hope I can keep this up. Anyone else want to join?

@greengreyblue I know right, I really want a bowl of cereal now! Not quite managed to kick the evening cravings unfortunately. Also experiencing some constipation with the two meals a day, very unlike me as I have been an ibs-d sufferer. So reluctant to weigh in case it reflects badly!

Queencam · 25/09/2024 19:59

Nearly 19 hour fast.
bowl of the butternut spinach dahl for lunch with a fried egg on top.
pear snack
lovely Balkan chocolate biscuit with coffee
cold dahl out the fridge snacking (made a LOT)
dinner chicken salad.

Bit hungrier today, think it’s the miserable weather!

Cashew1 · 25/09/2024 20:09

All sounds delicious @queencam!

Finding this thread really motivating, thanks to everyone for sharing. Has anyone joined the delay don't deny community? It's Gin Stephens' online forum but you have to pay. I have been toying with the idea

Cashew1 · 26/09/2024 07:53

Weighing in at 10st 13, so that's a 7lb weight loss overall. So happy!

GameOfJones · 26/09/2024 08:30

Well done @Cashew1 , that is brilliant! I haven't joined the online community but I've been considering it too. So far I've just been listening to her podcasts.

I have been really run down this week so I've just been focusing on food that is comforting and easy to prepare. I have stuck to my fasting times though and been drinking 2.5 litres of water as a minimum each day so I'm pleased with that.

Yesterday was an 18hr fast and I made pasta with a cheese and leek sauce for dinner. I cooked the pasta in bone broth....both for flavour and for added nutrients. It felt very soothing.

Today I'm planning on avocado on toast for lunch and some vegetable soup for dinner. Both with added chilli I reckon to try and clear my stuffy nose.

Queencam · 26/09/2024 09:06

Amazing progress @Cashew1 😄

Not heard of that delay community. Think I've got enough motivation here, and I love the Fastic app. Once I've logged that fast it really does stop me reaching for something easy and temping to eat.

Wishing you well @GameOfJones - I don't know how you drink all that water! I am absolutely terrible at drinking water..

GameOfJones · 26/09/2024 10:15

@Queencam I used to be shockingly bad at drinking water and could easily go all day before I realised I'd had no water. The only thing that helped was getting a 2 litre bottle that has time markings on the side and making sure that by the end of the day I have finished it all. It has a straw and is really easy to drink from so I can down quite a lot of water without really thinking about it.

Because it's a big bottle I just keep it at home and any other drinks outside of the house are a bonus. My brother has a 1 litre bottle with time markings that he takes out and about and just fills again at lunchtime so that does a similar job I suppose.

DH is ridiculously good at drinking water and always downs a glass of water before he drinks a tea or coffee. So in a café he'd order a coffee plus a glass of tap water every time.

greengreyblue · 26/09/2024 16:25

Well done @Cashew1 thats amazing!!
drink loads of water. I take a metal bottle to work and refill it 2/3 times. Don’t know it’s capacity but it’s standard size .I have about 4 green teas and one espresso in a day.
18 hr fast
lunch- smoked mackerel salad( I’m addicted I know) and an apple.
just had about 10 almonds when I got home.
dinner - smoked tofu stirfry with rice noodles.

Cashew1 · 26/09/2024 16:36

Thanks all!

20 hour fast, a new record

Lunch: picky lunch of a cream cheese and cucumber sandwich, some skips and a hummus crumpet, small chocolate afterwards

Dinner will be jacket potato with cottage cheese and a big salad

Giving myself lots of flex today to keep it sustainable and also because I've had a few light days.

Octopus45 · 26/09/2024 21:57

I'll weigh in tomorrow. I've been in comfort food mood today cause I'm feeling rough, but not too much food overall so hopefully ok

greengreyblue · 27/09/2024 06:49

Weigh day. No loss this week. I’ve been so good but I can feel I haven’t lost any more. Hopefully a plateau before my last few pounds come off. I haven’t walked much at all this week with all the damn rain!

Cashew1 · 27/09/2024 07:39

@octopus45 makes sense and when I've been under the weather or had bad period pains for example I've listened to my body and ate what it needed

@greengreyblue you've had such a healthy week! But I think when you have very little to lose it gets a lot harder. How much left to go?

Octopus45 · 27/09/2024 08:18

Thanks @Cashew1 . I had a nice surprise though this morning, I was nearly two pounds down from a few days ago. Only got 3.25 pounds to go now, know it will be very slow but I dont mind.

Wow well done! Very impressive. I have about a stone to go, all gained while I took antidepressants at quite a high dose for a year. Had been 10st for about ten years beforehand which is why I know 11 (it was 11 and a half) wasn't quite right for me. Am tapering off the medication at the moment

GameOfJones · 27/09/2024 10:16

Well done everyone!

I am 1lb down this week which I'm pretty pleased with to be honest considering I've been ill. A couple of people have started to notice I've lost weight too which is nice. It has been particularly noticeable on my stomach I think as I'm far less bloated. Still a long way to go but I'm celebrating the milestones.

SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 14st

Next goal, to get back into the 13s. I hit 13st 13lbs before my holiday but have taken a few weeks to lose the holiday bloat.

I was 12st for years and years when I got married and before I had DDs. I remember I was desperate to get to 11st but looking back at photos I looked healthy. I'd love to get back there.

18hr fast yesterday (seems to be a pattern at the moment!)

Lunch was avocado and cream cheese on rye bread

Dinner of tomato soup, sourdough plus some melon.

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 27/09/2024 11:58

Well done @Octopus45 and @GameOfJones I am also feeling really pleased this morning. I'm at the start of my 7-10 day weight loss phase and I'm down 0.7kg today. I'm really hoping to lose at least the same over the rest of the week so that will bring me down to 80kg which will be almost 5kg over 2.5 months. It's not speedy, but it's consistent, and I feel better and it is noticeable, so that's fantastic and I'm happy with it.

Queencam · 27/09/2024 13:01

Well done on the losses 👏🏼 slow and steady is the way.

@greengreyblue you saw such a good drop on previous weigh in - I’m sure you’ll be back in loss next week. To hold steady a week is fine I think

@Cashew1 I gained quite a lot of weight on Citalopram years ago. It sorted my panic and anxiety but really piled on the lbs. They can be quite challenging to come off - hope it’s going smoothly for you. Other ways to boost serotonin and dopamine might help - vitamin D supplement going into winter for me, plus plenty of movement.

Managed 16 hour fast, was ravenous by lunchtime. Broke fast with tuna broccoli tomato wholemeal pasta with cheese. Going out for dinner with a friend later to my fave Italian - there will be wine and carbs… Gonna be a tough fast that follows.

Cashew1 · 27/09/2024 13:23

Well done everyone!

Thankfully coming off the anxiety meds is going really well so far. And it's definitely helping the weight loss

Cashew1 · 27/09/2024 18:21

@greengreengreyblue your food always sounds delish, do you snack? I do at weekends but not otherwise

Cashew1 · 29/09/2024 10:30

Thanks. Your food appeals to me too. Do you have a recipe for the paneer and lentil soup? It’s definitely soup season. I’ve always loved veg and fruit, dislike cream , butter and not big on pastry and don’t have much of a sweet tooth so I’m lucky that healthy food is not a chore for me.
I have never been much of a snacker- was brought up on 3 meals a day and we didn’t snack(70s) so I rarely eat between meals anyway. I do like salty things like crisps and nuts so I do t tend to buy them or eat them unless I’m at a party or it’s part of the meal because I could eat loads. Also alcohol at weekends but so far I’m doing ok at reducing the amount. Feel better for it too. Since I’ve been IFing I have only had the odd carrott or stick of celery after work(4pm ish) and I’ve been bringing my evening meal forward which makes it easier. Not eaten yet today. Fancy some eggs and avocado. I’m making a roast dinner later cos it’s flippin freezing.

Queencam · 29/09/2024 14:26

Didn’t fast yesterday, felt hungover and needed to eat. Closed the kitchen at 6pm and fasted 18 hours into today.

Making a giant lentil vegetable lasagne for Sunday tea - will eat with the kids at 5ish and fast from then. Quite like these earlier fasts.
