I need to lose 5 stones and I wondering if an 800 fast would work for me. I already feel tired all the time, I am assuming due to my weight.

Has anyone tired it? Does anyone want to do it together?

836 calories today.
Lunch was a mocha shake I made with chocolate protein powder, coffee, almond milk and a handful of green beans.
Dinner was omelette with bacon, courgette, red onion, orange bell pepper and cheese.
Drinks: Black coffee and water.

DH came back from his first week away with work (sleeping in a truck cab!) last night and kept me up until 2:15am with excited tales of his escapades. It was nice to see him happy, he's been off work with depression for nearly 2 years and spent most of that time on the sofa feeling sorry for himself. Before that we was (rather ungainfully) self employed, so it's a big change for him to be working full time. Takes a huge weight off me though, so hopefully I'll stop stress eating!

I had to be up at 5.30am to take DS1 to the station for a uni open day, so very broken sleep as I did manage to get back to sleep around 7, woke up again at 9 then slept again from 10 until 1pm. Didn't want to be tired and eat from hunger!

Hope everyone else is getting on well.

10 weeks in now! Feels like a long time! 15.2kg down. 38.3 to go!!

Does anyone find being on a diet is all consuming? I think about it all the time - how much I need to lose, how long it might take. Who around me is thin, and how they seem to be able to eat nice food without a care? 10 weeks and I certainly would love some crisps and dessert....I won't, but it's not like because I haven't had them I don't want them anymore!!

How's everyone else getting on?

That's fantastic! You're doing so fantastically well!👏

I know what you mean, when you are restricting it is all you can think about! And the time seems to pass so bloody slowly?? I find it helps to keep myself really busy, and meal prep so I can just grab stuff when I'm hungry without having to think about what I'm going to have, or make wrong choices, that's definitely one of my 'danger zones'.

I actually find it easier on this sort of diet though, rather than a slimming world type diet, as because of how little I've been eating, I now don't feel hungry most of the time (apart from midnight munchies, they're a killer!).

But from doing this before I got to know exactly the amount of food my body needs per meal and even if I don't feel full at that point I stop eating while my brain catches up, the way I see it is if I'm genuinely hungry I can top up a little later, but I don't seem to need to, after half an hour I'm all set, it's still hard to leave food on my plate though, thank god we've got dogs to help me out! 😀

I had my first week weigh in yesterday and was surprised to have lost 5kg! I'm determined to stick to it! .. said every person starting a diet ever! 😂

I thought i'd pop back to this thread for one last update. I've now completed the full 12 weeks programme and lost 11.8kg in total. I definitely got sloppy towards the end so potentially could have lost more but i am so happy with how i've done. I'm sleeping better, back in my pre baby clothes and feeling great.

I started the programme as we wanted to try for a second child. Our first child was conceived with letrozole due to my PCOS after a long TTC journey and i needed my BMI to be under 30 to start treatment again. We had our second fertility clinic appt, where my BMI was 28.4 (yey!!) so enough to qualify for treatment and i figured i'd keep with the weight loss but at a slower pace whilst going through the medical process. The consultant didn't want to proceed without me having a HSG (although i didn't need one last time round) so we were a little disappointed but accepted we'd need to be more patient and wait a little longer. WELL. A few days after that appt, waiting for my period to confirm when the HSG could take place, i actually got a BFP!!! 😊First time in 4years of trying to get a BFP without ovulation induction meds that we actually saw a line. Even though its really REALLY early days, we are keeping everything crossed. I firmly believe that this diet helped me to kickstart my cycles as the dropped from every 60-80days to every 36days and i am a total convert to Michael Mosley now.

I really hope those you sticking with it are still doing well and finding it is working for you!

What a lovely update @CrispAppleStrudels

I’m restarting a fast 800 journey. I’m hoping to show resolve and stay focused.

greenspaces4peace · 04/09/2023 14:20

So far so good, I’ve made the oatmeal/coconut milk bircher for breakfast, I’m looking forward to it. Wonder if dh will want a try?
16-8 is actually the norm here as of a couple years so that’s easy.

greenspaces4peace · 04/09/2023 21:16

the bircher was awesome and lunch was the avocado baked with egg/salsa
so far so good. some minimal weight loss.
