Fast 800 anyone

Iminthemoneylife · 21/04/2023 07:03

I need to lose 5 stones and I wondering if an 800 fast would work for me. I already feel tired all the time, I am assuming due to my weight.

Has anyone tired it? Does anyone want to do it together?

Hi everyone

Starting this tomorrow.. have one stone to lose ( more like 1.5 really) and have had good success with this in the past. I dread the keto flu thing on day 5 but I remember it being relatively easy after that !
Thanks for all the tips. Fingers crossed

chalkyc2 · 01/05/2023 21:36

I have to say the weekends are more of a struggle!! I seem have got into a place where food is everything - a treat, a social pastime, it defines the whole day. And you feel so boring and bored without it! I definitely do better in regular weekdays when I can just get on. No wonder I previously was successful on this plan in lockdown - we didn't see anyone!!

I have not lapsed though and have managed a few workouts too. And most importantly have batch cooked lentil dhal for my lunch this week. Onwards team!!

50FootWave · 02/05/2023 06:40

Hello @Crazycrazylady and good luck today.

@chalkyc2 I hear you! The urge to graze is strong.

Well done of staying focused and working out. I've been redecorating to keep me preoccupied.

School strike here today so that makes the day a bit more stressful.

50FootWave · 03/05/2023 14:42

I'm still plodding along 'happily'on this, though I am averaging 1000 cals a day as a total I can handle.

Still probably 1/3 of what I was consuming before, so I'm considering this a win if it means not falling off the wagon.

Is anyone else still around?

chalkyc2 · 03/05/2023 14:57

Still here!! Also plodding and yep prob more like 1000 here too. 2 week weigh in tomorrow. Have had to have a large cup of tea (with milk!) to get me through the afternoon!!

50FootWave · 03/05/2023 15:08

Hello @chalkyc2 - glad to know you're also here (and also on 1000 cals!).

How are you feeling generally? I seem to have pretty decent energy, which is encouraging.

I hear you on the tea! I'm about to have a mug of hot ribena to quash the 3pm sugar cravings. I'm so punk rock.

Good luck for tomorrow - exciting to hear how you do.

chalkyc2 · 03/05/2023 15:32

I'm pretty good actually - it def helps to try and keep busy. Energy is fine just need to get some time for some actual exercise!!

The weigh in tomorrow won't be a surprise as I weigh myself every morning....just need to keep going!

Happypoppies · 03/05/2023 15:40

I did the fast 800 and lost a lot of weight.
My biggest tip is 2 meals and try not to think about food. Make your meals repetitive so that food begins to take up less space in your life.

I had a few things that I had - ice pops, Diet Coke etc but otherwise I kept it very dull.

when I have to think about food and a diet too much, that’s where I struggle to lose weight

50FootWave · 03/05/2023 17:21

Great stuff, @chalkyc2 , can I ask ahead of tomorrow if you're expecting a loss?

Thanks for the tips, @Happypoppies ! Love these. Can I ask if you have reached your goal.now, and if so, how you feel?

I'm keeping a daily list of benefits of my loosing weight (other than the obvious!) to help motivate me 😊

chalkyc2 · 03/05/2023 18:41

There should be a loss unless I break down and eat all the bread and chocolate I can find in the house tonight! But it won't be as good as the first week - I think I now just need to settle in for the long term here. 40kg needs to go so it ain't gonna be quick 😭😭😭!

50FootWave · 03/05/2023 20:24

I believe in you, @chalkyc2 - I'm looking at 30kg myself, so as you say, settling in for the duration is a sensible mindset.

Chelsea26 · 03/05/2023 21:07

I’m still here! Had yet another disaster and my willpower deserted me a little this time.

Went for lunch with my friends as discussed and had a few drinks and some food but was all ok and then on the way home my massive, stupid, dog bolted for a fox and I went flying. Basically landed on my face and now look like I’ve been in a car crash, two black eyes, numerous cuts and scraper - it’s literally horrendous!

So I couldn’t be arsed to cook or prep Monday so got a takeaway and am still feeling a little sorry for myself and have opened a bottle of wine tonight.

However I made soup and Greek salad for our lunches for the week today and have meal planned so hoping to get back on track!

cloudjumper · 03/05/2023 21:31

Day 3 done - so far so good! Hunger was worst yesterday morning, I woke up starving and then had nearly all my daily carb allowance for breakfast! Not going to make that mistake again! Energy is good so far, but I am going to bed earlier to get away from temptation
The weekend will be tricky, we're going to stay with DH's sister in London, not sure how I will manoeuvre that - any tips for staying on track when away from home?!

chalkyc2 · 03/05/2023 22:56

Omg @Chelsea26 you're having a tough time!! Err...one day at a time right?!?

Well done @cloudjumper - I'm afraid I have no advice on how to get through social occasions as the only way I can deal with this is to be a complete hermit. I mean I go to work, but nothing else!!

Chelsea26 · 03/05/2023 23:06

It is tough yes @chalkyc2 but at least it forces me to be a hermit I guess - enjoy that??!!

CrispAppleStrudels · 03/05/2023 23:14

Im still here! Lost 0.5kg last week. Not as much as the first week, but i had a client lunch and then was at an awards dinner last week - both of which were boozy, 3 course meal type affairs. So feel chuffed not to have put on!

Am back to normal for the next few weeks though without any fancy meals booked so hoping for some more good losses.

I had the parmesan chicken for tea tonight and it was really tasty! Def one to keep on the rotation.

50FootWave · 04/05/2023 07:10

Blimey, @Chelsea26 - sounds like you have had another tough week; really hope you are ok, and I'd do the same in your position! Get well soon.

@cloudjumper - well done on day 3, I was straving in the first few days, too. I find an apple and small pice of protein (a babybell) helps take the edge off.

No great tips about socialising, other than just relax. It's one weekend out of many, many others, and real life happens! Maybe a bit more exercise?!

@CrispAppleStrudels - excellent loss and will power! And I'm going to try the parmesan chicken myself!

Iminthemoneylife · 04/05/2023 09:19

Just a quick message so I can’t tag everyone.

Every loss should be celebrated no matter how small. A least I keep trying to tell myself this, my weight can go up a pounds one day and then two the next day. So I try to compare to 7 days ago.

I’ve just has peanut butter on toast. I’m feeling today, I have probably caught something of my youngest who is constantly ill at the moment.

chalkyc2 · 04/05/2023 10:15

Agreed all losses are great news!!

1.4kg down for week 2. Keeping going!

LudicrouslyCapaciousBag · 04/05/2023 10:29

Hello all. Still plodding along here. Another 2lb down this morning which puts me in a new stone bracket!

@Chelsea26 you poor thing - I hope you feel better soon.

50FootWave · 04/05/2023 11:56

Well said @Iminthemoneylife - hope you are looking after yourself.

Nice work, @chalkyc2 and @LudicrouslyCapaciousBag - what a great milestone. I'm in the 15's and can't wait to see the 14's.

BibbleandSqwauk · 04/05/2023 18:56

Still here too. About 9lb down I think after 12 days. I agree with a pp about just keeping it dull so I don't have to think about it. Rye bread with smoked salmon on is a good snack.

50FootWave · 04/05/2023 20:17

Incredible, @BibbleandSqwauk !!!

BibbleandSqwauk · 04/05/2023 21:27

Thanks. Some days are easier to come under 800 than others and I just keep a fairly dull selection of food like chicken, salad, aforementioned rye bread and salmon, walnuts, feta and olives

50FootWave · 07/05/2023 06:23

Three pounds off for me today.

Am away from Weds - Sun next week which will be tough but will try my best!
