Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

Another 2lbs off this morning, 9lbs in two days.
I completely understand that this not fat and is water weight but I’m in this for the long haul

Foundmyfeet · 07/01/2021 11:25

@TheWayOfTheWorld thanks for that info. I will do that too and see what happens!

@DoctorYang wow! Well done! I weighed this morning and have only lost 0.25lbs (I've been weighing every morning) but cumulatively it's 5.25lbs in 5 days which I'm so happy about. It would take me about 3-4 weeks on slimming world to lose that.

absolutehush · 07/01/2021 12:52

Weigh in this morning 5lbs down from Monday. Starting to feel ok on the calories - not hungry etc - although about 6pm is a struggle. I am going to introduce more exercise from Monday.

Plan is a HIIT on Monday, walking for 45 mins on Tuesday-Thursday and then a run over the weekend...

I'm having breakfast at 9.30, lunch about 2 and dinner at 8. My Monday hiit is at 7.30 (online class). Should I eat earlier (6pm?) or after it???

Greysofa · 07/01/2021 15:25

@Polkadotties

We had the chicken Parmesan goujons for dinner tonight. They will lovely, definitely going to be a regular meal!
I want to try these but I’m struggling to find the quick cook polenta anywhere!
Polkadotties · 07/01/2021 15:39

@Greysofa we just used normal polenta

CoffeethenCrochet · 07/01/2021 17:27

@Greysofa we just used normal polenta. They were still really yummy! Making them again this weekend Smile

CoffeethenCrochet · 07/01/2021 17:30

New recipe book has just arrived - some really fab looking dishes. Frustratingly I'm shielding so I can't rush out to get ingredients to try them and will have to wait till next week's grocery delivery.

A good day so far. Took the dog for a walk and made myself increase my speed. Fitbit app gave me extra points so I was happy with what I'd achieved. Hoping to slowly increase my fitness this month. Don't want to burn out doing too much too soon.

BIWI · 07/01/2021 18:33

Yes, the new recipe book looks fab! Mine arrived today as well.

fluffydinosaur · 07/01/2021 18:58

How is everyone doing today?
I've had an omelette for lunch (3 eggs, a slice of ham, a tomato and some spinach). I'm now making dinner which is the turmeric roast cauliflower and dhal from the website. (I used a little less coconut milk to lower the calories)

TheWayOfTheWorld · 07/01/2021 20:27

Hi @fluffydinosaur, I had an omelette the other night, had forgotten how much I like them!

Felt rather hungry this morning so decided to go for 3 meals rather than 2 (although still managed a 16 hour fast):

Late breakfast: porridge made with rolled oats, almond milk and water and some blueberries

Lunch: tuna with tomato, spring onion and a smidge of Mayo

Dinner: a beef burger with sautéed brussel sprouts and a small portion of roasted sweet pots/butternut squash.

JaquelineBeanstalk · 07/01/2021 20:55

Got very cross making the falafels tonight. Put the ingredients in a stick blender, but they were splashing everywhere. So I transferred them to a nutribullet, but they were not liquid enough for it. Back to the stick blender with a plastic bag tied around it. The result was a faff to scrape off the blades, and then was too soft and sticky to make into patties. By this stage the roast veg were overdone, and I was ready to reach for the wine ( but I resisted)

I’m going to look through the new book now, it arrived today

DoctorYang · 08/01/2021 09:54

The new cookbook is fab, I have bookmarked so many recipes!

Yesterday, my food was -

Cottage cheese, berries & cinnamon - 209 cals
Beef stir fry - 307 cals
Shakshuka (from the first recipe book) - 312 cals

DoctorYang · 08/01/2021 09:57

I also have a few Joe Wicks recipe books and quite a few of his low carb ideas can be used on this. I especially like the Italian Stallion Sausages (stupid name for them though!) and that comes in at 280 cals per portion.

absolutehush · 08/01/2021 12:54

Daily weigh in - 5.6lbs lost since Monday. Was initially going to aim for two weeks but three seems much more achievable now. Think I will just keep adding the weeks on, rather than thinking I am going for 12!

fluffydinosaur · 08/01/2021 17:03

@absolutehush that's great - well done! I am also 5lbs down - this is the quickest I have ever lost weight although I think some of it is just bloating from Christmas! i think I might have one treat meal after the first two weeks and then aim for another two weeks

DoctorYang · 08/01/2021 20:52

Well done on the losses!

My menu today-

Breakfast - shakshuka (312 cals)

Lunch - snack plate of 3 seeded crackers and soft cheese, saurkraut, cucumber & pepper sticks, homemade tzatziki, cherry tomatoes (200 cals)

Dinner - Chesse and spinach stuffed chicken & green veg (297 cals)

JaquelineBeanstalk · 09/01/2021 06:46

4 pounds down this week, even with a sneaky glass of red last night!

Made the Dan’s veggie bolognaise, which was very tasty. I used plant kitchen mince rather than quorn, and dh had finished the red lentils without telling me so I had none of those. I also wouldn’t bother with the roasting of a ppepper and a carrot, there’s no way they cook at the same time. But I had it on steamed Savoy cabbage with a sprinkle of Parmesan and it was really satisfying.

This weekend I will be making the smoked fish brunch pot and chickpea patties form the new book.

torthecatlady · 09/01/2021 07:27

Morning all, I'd love to join in with you please! I'm on another weight loss thread, but I think I'm the only one over there following F800.

I tried starting the F800 last year but gave up a couple of days in Blush So this time, I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. I'm doing 2 meals a day (lunch and dinner) with exercise a few times a week.

I've surprised myself at how easy I've found this first week compared to my last attempt, where I felt so hungry.

Starting weight (1st Jan) 17,4 (my heaviest ever) and I feel so uncomfortable! About a size 18. My first weigh will be a little later today but I feel pretty good about it.

My motivation is to lose weight for fertility treatment and a gallbladder removal. I have a lot to lose, but need to be cautious with the fasting as I have a history of stomach ulcers.

Foundmyfeet · 09/01/2021 10:06

@JaquelineBeanstalk - well done! And with a glass of red too! I haven't had any booze once NYE and was thinking of having a glass tonight but actually feeling that I could go longer without.

@torthecatlady welcome! This is my first time on this plan and I'm a week into it. I've been finding it a bit challenging as I feel hungry all the time! But I'm doing 2 weeks at 800 kcal which is probably why.

Weighed myself this morning after my first week and have lost 7lbs! I'm over the moon!

Polkadotties · 09/01/2021 10:18

Stayed the same yesterday but 2lbs off this morning. I’m now into the 13st bracket again, thank god! In total 11lbs off since Tuesday.
Last nights dinner was the pork stir fry from the recipe book, was very yummy. Another that will become a regular meal

torthecatlady · 09/01/2021 13:56

@Foundmyfeet Thank you! Yes, the last time I tried the Fast800 I was absolutely starving within a couple of hours of starting it (which was purely psychological Grin) and I'd set myself up to fail before I'd even given it a chance. I usually end up going to bed early so that I don't snack or playing a board game to keep my mind and hands busy!

Results
First weigh in and I've lost 8lbs this week, bringing me down to 16,10.

FrostedCranberries · 09/01/2021 13:59

Do you exercise when doing this? I'm on 1200-1600 calories per day but I'm doing strength training for at least 30 mins each day. I'm ok with the slow progress but wondering if I could speed things up alongside my daily training? Too dangerous?

torthecatlady · 09/01/2021 16:24

@FrostedCranberries I'm think I read in the fast800 Facebook group that you should avoid exercise for the first couple of weeks.

But I'm exercising as well as I'm so unfit!

JaquelineBeanstalk · 09/01/2021 17:38

Gentle exercise, or a bit of HIIT is encouraged. Endurance training or marathon style training, probably not suited to this.

travailtotravel · 09/01/2021 20:41

Weighed in this morning at 224. I was 235 last week. Motivated me to keep going but I'm never going to Sainsburys in the morning on a 16:8 day again. Sooo hungry! I'm mostly eating between 800-100 per day and exercise us about 50 mins walking per day.
