Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

That’s great news @Motivateinmotion.

I am having a terribly depressing evening. Just reading through another thread about BMIs and dress sizes. I feel thoroughly depressed at the thought of being a size 20. I can not believe I’ve let myself get here. I looked at my BMI and realised to get into a ‘healthy’ bracket (Where I’ve never been, even at 63kg and a size 10/12), I need to loose 52kg. That’s never going to happen. It’s almost half my weight. Oh god I feel awful.

@Ihateme The weight will FALL off you on Fast800. I promise you, in a few weeks, that goal is going to seem really achievable.

Motivateinmotion · 03/01/2021 22:36

@ihateme stick with it! You can do this! Focus on the positives. The health benefits of a 5% loss, then a 10% loss. Don't fixate on what the end goal should be. Remember that any amount lost will make such a huge positive impact on your overall health and well-being. Do not give up. This is hanger talking

CoffeethenCrochet · 03/01/2021 23:07

I've got a similar amount to lose to get to healthy BMI. We can do this. Stay positive. We will get there. Flowers

DoctorYang · 04/01/2021 10:27

Hi all, I start officially today! I was actually supposed to be getting a gastric bypass today, but that has been postponed :( I am doing the Fast800 as my LRD (liver reducing diet) to shrink my liver for surgery, which will hopefully be Feb or March now. I then plan to stick to Fast800 more or less after surgery as well.

My plan for today (I've signed up online os was given a meal plan for this week) -

Breakfast - 2poached eggs and asparagus dippers (169 cals)
Lunch - Greek salad (267 cals)
Dinner - Teryaki salmon and green veg (420 cals)

Good luck to everyone else!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 04/01/2021 12:37

Finished reading the book last night and I've started today. Weighed myself which was so depressing - I've put on 2.5 stone since June 2019 and haven't been any near this heavy in 6-7 years (after I had DC2).

Anyhoo....

Got up and did 10 push-ups (on my knees, used to do full ones with weights on my back Blush), 10 abs crunches, 10 squats and a 20 sec plank followed by 12 mins HIIT on the bike. Have foregone my morning coffee and just had water - trying to continue with the 16:8 so I am about to have a very late breakfast of oats with some fruit. Not sure about dinner yet but I need to go to the supermarket to get some eggs, spinach etc.

Motivateinmotion · 04/01/2021 13:05

Meal plan for today looks good @DoctorYang

Does anyone have any app recommendations? I’m using Fastic for fasting/timing my fasts just find it easier than remembering as i don’t fast exact times each day. And MFP for calories. Is this accurate for carbs too?

Dinkydody · 04/01/2021 13:42

First week of online plan done and I’m 5lbs and an inch of waist down 😀
As I’m only 4f 8 I’m super happy with this 😊
I struggled with pounding headaches and I already drink loads of water so put it down to sugar/carb withdrawal but feeling pretty good today.
I’m glad I paid for online plan as it keeps me on trac and I know macros are correct 😊

CoffeethenCrochet · 04/01/2021 13:54

First day back on plan today. Having had lots of sweet treats over Xmas I'm not looking forward to the headache in a few days.

L: Porridge
D: Chicken breast with veg

DoctorYang · 04/01/2021 17:22

Day one finished, I will fast now til 10am tomorrow. Was much easier than expected! I did bulk my dinner out with more green veg from the 'no need to count calories ' list.

Will add pics of todays food.

@Ihateme - you can do it! We're all in this together. We just need to keep motivating each other. I'm constantly up and down with my weight and know how much of a tall order it can seem but before you know it, you'll be in an earring/exercise routine and when you look back in a few weeks you'll be proud of yourself!

How often are people weighing themselves? I started on Saturday and weighed myself again this morning. I've lost 3.5lbs in 2 days! I struggled to lose 1lb a week on slimming world!

I'm feeling much better today. I struggled with the hunger and headaches on day 1. Yesterday I felt like I could've committed murder! Today has been a good day and I've even committed myself to walking the dog every morning. Normally DH walks her in the evenings.

JaquelineBeanstalk · 04/01/2021 18:42

A teaspoon of marmite can help with headaches. Or just take a painkiller!

My evening meal is around 5-6, and I try to push my first food to 10 am the next morning at the earliest. Beyond that I don’t worry too much about the exact hours of fasting.

Breakfast- smoked salmon mini fritata
Lunch- miso soup, cherry toms and radishes. Min baby bel
Dinner- veggie sosig, celeriac mash, broccoli and onion gravy.

Foundmyfeet · 04/01/2021 18:50

Oh, my friend recommended these 2 products to assist with Ketosis maintenance. I'm going to try them tomorrow so can't say whether they are helpful or not. She swears by them though. Apparently you can put the oil in your morning tea/coffee 🤢 and froth it up. Doesn't sound great to be honest! Has anyone else tried them?

Have a horrible headache and really struggled not to pick at my daughters dinner but managed. According to MFP I have come in at 835 cals which feels ok.

I need to weigh myself now to see where I am, although I am mainly focussing on dress sizes (I have gone up from 10-12 to 16-18). Going to bed now to avoid temptation.

Motivateinmotion · 04/01/2021 19:49

Those meals look great @doctoryang and good pics are always good to share for inspiration when you’re lacking ideas. I’ve been back to it today after 3 days off and have to say I although the sugar cravings are really hard I can see how much better I feel without carbs. When I was eating carb over NY I was feeling sluggish and constantly tired and hungry but without them I have much more energy and don’t feel nearly as ravenous. I just wish there was a little something sweet I could have even just a square of choc to satisfy after my evening meal. Maybe some whipped double cream with vanilla

Foundmyfeet · 04/01/2021 21:36

@Motivateinmotion - I knocked up some chia seeds soaked in unsweetened almond milk with a teaspoon of sweetener. 75kcal for 15g of chia, 13kcal per 100ml of Alpro unsweetened almond milk and 2kcal per teaspoon of sweetener. I don't eat it all at once. A couple of teaspoons here and there seems to have kept me going...so far!

Greysofa · 04/01/2021 22:18

First day for me today and have used 3 recipes from book (berry smoothie, bacon, mushroom and broccoli fry up and the mozzarella chicken). Calories are only just 700. Does anyone have any tips how to make it up?
Also, I have prepped the mushroom soup for lunch tomorrow but it’s only 68 Cals and no protein, so looking to add to that if I can?

JaquelineBeanstalk · 05/01/2021 06:14

I wouldn't worry about the calories being bang on, but a boiled egg is always a useful bit of protein for 80 calories. You could sprinkle some seeds on the mushroom soup, or a few cubes of feta.

I had a pretty good night's sleep, and I managed over 10,000 steps yesterday which I'm pleased about.

Today's menu:
B Greek yoghurt and Joe Wicks granola
L lentil soup
D veggie sosig paella w cauli rice

I'd be looking to add a bit more fat to the dishes you're cooking. So for example, with your soup tomorrow, I'd add some cream (which will also add a bit of protein) and possibly serve with some grated cheese on top.
Foundmyfeet · 05/01/2021 18:56

Feeling a little off today. Almost like morning sickness! Is this normal to feel this way on this diet?

RedHotChiliChips · 05/01/2021 19:55

Regarding the MCT oil, it is very beneficial for you but start cautiously at one teaspoon per day. Eventually work to 2tbls per day. Otherwise you'll sit all day on the throne Grin

Many Keto advocate use of MCT oil in bulletproof coffee (black coffee, butter and MCT oil). I gave it a go but it's not really for me, I'm sticking to my double espresso with a long milk.
MCT oil is great added in smoothies though, you won't taste it at all. But it must be blended in with a Nutribullet or similar, same with the bullet proof coffee.

I'm on week 12 on the Fast800 on-line plan, just haven't written here before (at lest I don't think I have!). For this former carb addict it has been life changing.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 05/01/2021 20:45

Definitely echo care with the MCT oil. I used it before and wasn't cautious enough with building up quantities slowly - it gave me terrible crippling stomach ache Confused

Motivateinmotion · 05/01/2021 20:51

@RedHotChiliChips you’ve done 12 weeks Fast800 wow that’s excellent. Always good to hear when someone has managed to continue. You say life changing how so? All positive I hope? Ha

Foundmyfeet · 05/01/2021 21:34

@RedHotChiliChips I tried it on my coffee today and it wasn't so bad after all! And yes, my friend warned me about using just a teaspoon to start with! Glad she gave me that heads up!
12 weeks on plan is amazing! Yes please so tell what life changes it's done for you. Give us all something to look forward to.

@TheWayOfTheWorld over what period did you build up the quantities? Just so I don't end up overdosing!

travailtotravel · 05/01/2021 21:35

My people! I need to lose a lot so am 800 low carb via 16:8 (about 9pm to 1pm ti suit life).since about 27th. Then I started a new job/ went back to work this week. Even though it's going to take a bit longer, I was chewing my arm off so have introduced a small breakfast of oats. It's not possible with work to manage to eat between say 10-6, but I figure 1000 is still way better than out of control.
I lost 5lb in my first week - about 80 to go, ffs, but will see where I am in 12 weeks and adjust. I'd rather it took longer and I was less hungry and more likely to stick to it!
