Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

It’s sometimes hard to adapt the recipes if you’re cooking for one, but this was really simple. Hot smoked salmon and edamame bean stirfry from the new Easy book.

Totally off plan this evening. Had some really upsetting news today, and just didn't want to prep veg tonight Blush so frustrated with myself but I know I can get back on plan tomorrow and write tonight off.

Does anyone have any, " had a rubbish day, evening meal pick me ups" that are quick and easy and slightly comfort food like? I know this is probably asking for the impossible.

In better news when I weighed myself this morning I'd lost 2lbs since yesterday Grin

travailtotravel · 12/01/2021 22:07

@CoffeethenCrochet so hard. I am the same today and don't have a fridge full of boxes of soup to eat. I stopped work at 9pm tonight and just did scrambled eggs. Quick, protein. Also tin of baked beans. Totally not the same as something lush, but you know.

travailtotravel · 12/01/2021 22:08

I think I have to do a pile of prep at the weekend to keep on track as work is all consuming and I cant faff about at the end of the day or it's super late when I eat.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 12/01/2021 22:48

Congrats to everyone!

I'm chuffed as I was 7.6lb down for week 1 when I weighed in yesterday and another 0.6lb off this morning. I know it is not all fat and that this rate of loss will slow down but goodness it is heartening to see the scales go in the right direction. First mini goal
Is to get under 170lb and hoping to achieve that this week and the next one will be 165.8lb to get me to a stone loss. Following which I will be aiming for 159.8lb (to get into the 150s), 151.8lb (2 stone loss), 149.8lb (to get into 140s) and finally target of 144lb.

I've bought both the recipe books and there seems to be quite a few things for me to try so need to get some ingredients in.

I am still doing it in combination with 16:8 and doing ok. Haven't been tempted to cheat yet, which I am happy about as that is the biggest part of the battle and it is 10 days since I had any booze.

JerichosPenisInADeadChickHat · 13/01/2021 00:31

Well done @TheWayOfTheWorld Grin that's awesome.

I haven't weighed myself yet but I started this on Saturday and have had no alcohol since Friday...got around 2 stone to lose.

Finding it great so far, combining fast 800 with 16:8

catgirl1976 · 13/01/2021 14:36

Hello

Couuld I join? Bit late to the party but started Monday and have lost 4lbs already so that's good but I have 4 stone to lose :(

fluffydinosaur · 13/01/2021 23:41

Hi catgirl- 4lbs is brilliant progress! dont worry, quite a few of us are looking to lose the same amount or more!

absolutehush · 14/01/2021 06:52

I'm looking to lose between 3-4 stone. Started at 14.10, and 5'6. Ideally I would be 10.10!

My plan is to do 800 cals for 12 weeks and then go to carb free, med diet with three days a week at 800.

I've introduced exercise this week and it's been ok, although the headaches are back. Any tips?

absolutehush · 14/01/2021 09:20

Just weighed myself: 10.1 - so 9lbs in a week and 4 days. Feel really happy with that! Fingers crossed it continues

Foundmyfeet · 14/01/2021 09:22

bah!! I've only lost 2lbs this week so far (2nd week). Bit of a come down from my 7lb loss in week 1. I weighed myself this morning and put on 0.5lb but I think that's down to the polenta I had last night. Didn't realise I had to weigh it and had more than advised. Never mind, you live and learn.

fluffydinosaur · 14/01/2021 10:06

argh! I'm up 2lbs this morning! and I've been really good Confused ...I did have a rough night though with the toddler, wonder if I'm just bloated?

catgirl1976 · 14/01/2021 10:13

Thank you @fluffydinosaur

I've lost another 2lb today so 6lb in total since Monday which I am very happy with. I know it will slow down so just trying to prepare myself for that and not get demotivated when it does!

catgirl1976 · 14/01/2021 10:14

@fluffydinosaur - I bet the 2lb on is just bloating / tiredness / hormones and will drop off again overnight! Hope you manage to get some sleep!

Polkadotties · 14/01/2021 10:18

@absolutehush snap. I’m 5ft6 and started on 14.10. My happy weight used to bob around 10 and half stone. Would like to get back down to that maybe a bit lower

Foundmyfeet · 14/01/2021 11:35

Can anyone recommend a good low carb bread? I've looked online and found one at H&B called Everfresh Sprouted Rye bread. Looks quite low in carbs and cals. Anyone tried it before or can recommend anything else?

BIWI · 14/01/2021 12:32

Yes! this bread

It's very low carb, and tastes and has the texture just like ordinary bread. In all the years I've been low carbing I've never found anything like this.

The rolls are very large, and because they're high in protein are also very satiating, so one makes a very generous lunch.

That said, it's expensive - and you pay a lot for postage. However, it is supposed to be stored in the freezer, so if you have room for a bulk order you could save that way on the postage.

You can buy the rolls from Amazon, so won't have to pay the same delivery charge - especially if you have Amazon Prime - but delivery can take a long time. And be warned - the last lot I got came from Royal Mail and were all mouldy when they arrived. Royal Mail is suffering very badly at the moment, as so many of their staff are off sick with Covid. (The company who sell them replaced them for me immediately - but they were still delivered by RM!)

These problems aside, I can definitely recommend them. And no, I don't work for them or take commission!

Foundmyfeet · 14/01/2021 12:38

@BIWI - thank you so much! I'm going to put an order in now! I've been eating dark rye bread as per a breakfast recipe but when I looked at it more carefully, the carb content for one slice consumes almost my daily allowance which leaves me struggling to stay within my limits at dinner time. Even though I've been doing well with the weight loss, I don't want to jeopardise it if one day I fancy 2 slices instead :)

Foundmyfeet · 14/01/2021 14:01

Oh I'm soooo excited! Just ordered the low carb bread AND chocolate brownies!! @BIWI - I think I love you! Lol!

absolutehush · 14/01/2021 18:56

Ohhh hi @Polkadotties how are you getting on? I'm chipping away - nearly 1/4 of the way there!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/01/2021 22:02

That SLC stuff looks amazing! I've tried making my own flax seed loave before and it was too eggy Confused. I've got some dark rye sourdough but agree that takes up a lot of the carb allocation.

I'm 9lb down since last Monday, so pleased with that. Had porridge with chopped pear in for lunch today and then a cauliflower rice "risotto" for dinner plus 2 coffees with cream and lots of water. I've got the Fast 800 recipe books now so need to get a bit more adventurous than the tuna salad I had for dinner last night (whilst everyone else had crispy baked potatoes with butter, cheese and beans Hmm).

travailtotravel · 14/01/2021 22:09

Just seen you can freeze it. Hurrah and thanks to BIWI for the link! I am desperate for toast!

stclair · 15/01/2021 07:48

I’m considering joining the online version but those with youngish children, what do you do at dinner time? Feed the rest of the family something different to what you are having? This is the bit that stops me leaping at it!

BIWI · 15/01/2021 08:22

If you're cooking from the recipe books I can't see how there would be any issue feeding the children the same food. Most of the recipes seem to be around the 300-400 calories per portion which, along with good breakfasts and lunches would make up a good day's food.
