Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

Morning all!

Anyone else feeling absolutely knackered?? Pre this diet, I had trouble sleeping. This past week I've been having a much better sleep. I put it down to not stuffing myself with sugar treats before bedtime anymore. But yesterday evening, I was falling asleep at about 6:30pm and forced myself not to nap. I eventually went to bed at about 10:30pm. Slept all the way through to 7am and I feel like I could just close my eyes again. I am also not eating meat; DD and I decided to give pescatarianism a go. Am I lacking in a vitamin? I am taking a number of vitamins but perhaps I need to take an iron supplement? I am also consuming 800kcals between 10am and 6pm. Any advice would be greatly received.

Foundmyfeet · 11/01/2021 10:26

Oh and many congratulations to all those fabulous weight losses!! I am also wondering if week 2 will be a slower loss than week 1 and by how much approx. Don't want to feel disheartened. Although, I find comparing my slimming world weight losses to my losses on this diet a great motivator. S/W was pants for me.

Montysauras · 11/01/2021 10:44

@Foundmyfeet I’m having exactly the same issue, constantly tired! More tired now then a few months back when my son would be up every 2 hours, he now sleeps through but I am way more tired. I just put it down to lower cals and body burning fat/operating on fewer cals but I have no idea!

BIWI · 11/01/2021 11:02

The tiredness could just be about your body transitioning from burning carbs to burning fat.

DoctorYang · 11/01/2021 12:33

I was tired the first few days, maybe 4 or 5? but seem to be getting past that now.

Jasminerae · 11/01/2021 14:24

Hi, im Currently on day 3 of the 800 calorie a day diet and was just wondering if any one has had success with this diet? I was 12 stone 4 on saturday morning havent been bavk on the scales yet. I would like to get back down to 10 stone again by my 30th birthday in August, I am currently the heaviest ive been in my life and need to make changes, ate just under 800 calories a day for the past 2 days, walked 5 mile yesterday and done a 20 minute hiit workout this morning. Any suggestions for meals would be greatly appreciated.
Jasmine x

torthecatlady · 11/01/2021 15:37

Yep I also think that week 2 will be less too! We shall see! I like to see the results on the scales early on for motivation.

I never did slimming world, but I did get good results with weight watchers. However, I much prefer calorie counting.

BIWI · 11/01/2021 15:38

@Jasminerae The Fast800 isn't just a low calorie diet though! Have you got/read the book? I'd really suggest that you, if you haven't. Also go and check out the website for lots of info about how it works, as well as lots of recipes.

It definitely works!

Jasminerae · 11/01/2021 15:44

Yeah I've read on the website and on waiting for book to be delivered. Did quite a bit of research on it but havent spoken to anyone who is on the fast800 now to ask for advice. My friend recommended it to me as i usually have good willpower, she gave up after 2 weeks said it wasn't for her.
Just really wanna be confident in my body again x

BIWI · 11/01/2021 16:50

Just bear in mind that it's not just about counting calories - is also about fasting and keeping your carbs lower, and your protein and fat higher.

DoctorYang · 11/01/2021 17:24

Meals today were -

B - 3 low carb crackers, soft cheese, cucumber sticks, homemade tzatziki - 200 cals
L - Medirterranean mozzerella chicken & salad - 375 cals
D - Lentiland spinach dhal - 232 cals

JaquelineBeanstalk · 11/01/2021 17:36

There are a number of Facebook Fast 800 groups, really supportive and lots of success stories!

Why did your friend give up Jasmine? As with any diet, you find the one that suits you, but it’s also instructive to identify what it was that was difficult.

fluffydinosaur · 11/01/2021 17:59

Hey, a question for anyone on here who has quite a lot to lose (4 stone+), how long are you planning to stick to the 800 cals per day? and are you planning to have any cheat meals/days during that time or just power through? Although it is early days and going well so far, I'm worried about reaching a plateau and giving up!

JerichosPenisInADeadChickHat · 11/01/2021 18:31

@BIWI thank you. Yes, cheese is a good shout. Today I've got a couple of hundred calories left again.

I've had pilchards and salad and beef kofta again with salad

CoffeethenCrochet · 11/01/2021 19:15

@fluffydinosaur On our first round of 12 weeks we had about 3 takeaways, nothing like we used to. Chose Indian dishes that were meat/paneer only, with vegetable side dish and poppadoms. No rice or naan bread. And before we'd have had a main dish each. Now we have one main dish and side between us. Didn't gain anything doing this and it kept us going. We also made sure it was a day when we had done a very long walk or something strenuous to have burned a fair few calories. So very likely we will do the same again this time.

Week 1 weigh in this morning and I somehow gained 500g since yesterday Hmm no idea how when I stuck to plan and exercised. Oh well I still had a total loss of 6.5lb for the week. A loss is a loss. 36lb loss if you count my first 12 week loss as well.

CoffeethenCrochet · 11/01/2021 19:16

@fluffydinosaur I forgot to say I have +4 stone to lose and more so will do 12 weeks again, we did 12 weeks before Xmas then stopped for 3 weeks.

fluffydinosaur · 11/01/2021 20:08

@CoffeethenCrochet wow, you are doing really well! thanks for the info.. when you had 3 weeks off did you gain or did you manage to stay where you were?

DoctorYang · 11/01/2021 20:41

I have a lot to lose (more than 4 stone) and I am doing this until I get weight loss surgery. I was supposed to have it on the 4th Jan but it was cancelled, but will hopefully have it in the next 12 weeks. I plan to follow these principles after the surgery too.

travailtotravel · 11/01/2021 21:47

I've got 6 to lose. I'm evaluating at 12 weeks. Hoping for 3 off, maintain then burst down again. May go longer than 12 weeks depending on results. I'm already doing between 800 and 1000. I'll introduce alcohol at some point.

Foundmyfeet · 11/01/2021 22:23

Thanks all for the reassurance about y fatigue. As the day wore on, I perked up a bit.

@fluffydinosaur I have just under 4 stones to lose, but I feel like the 800kcal is only going to be sustainable for me for 2 weeks. I've done one week so far. I am adjusting to the change in eating habits slowly but I reckon I can comfortably do 1000kcal a day so will begin this on Saturday.
@CoffeethenCrochet - that's great advice regarding the takeaways and choosing a physically active day to have it. Thank you!

CoffeethenCrochet · 11/01/2021 22:31

@fluffydinosaur I gained 0.5lb in my 3 weeks off. Which I was amazed with as we definitely were not on plan at any point over Christmas Grin alcohol, desserts, potatoes etc. But I think my portions in general are much more sustainable. They weren't 800cal a day portions but definitely not loading the plate up like I used to.

@Foundmyfeet ha, not sure it's good advice as not really on plan. But I'd rather have 3 takeaways in 12 weeks and still lose weight rather than throwing the towel in a few weeks in and then not losing anything.

With regards to fatigue, I found fatigue tough in the first round we did last year as it was on top of already having chronic fatigue due to an autoimmune condition. But this time round I've not had any extra fatigue, wondering if thats because we only came off plan for 3 weeks. Not sure though.

fluffydinosaur · 11/01/2021 23:30

thanks - sounds good. I've got 4.5 to lose and at the moment I'm planning to complete these 2 weeks, then one cheat day and back on it another two weeks. and after that I'm not sure! i might just keep going in two week cycles for as long as i can or at least until I'm a couple of stone down but I would like to move towards the 5:2 version at some point. I'm not doing any real exercise at the moment as finding it difficult with all the restrictions. but i think after this week i need to introduce something! I do think this will also make me hungrier though!

fluffydinosaur · 11/01/2021 23:37

@CoffeethenCrochet that is really good that you only gained half a lb- makes me optimistic that this will be sustainable in the long term! I definitely plan to alter my way of eating long term but I love cake and pizza too much to say goodbye forever!

I also have an autoimmune condition and have been trying to focus on some of the recipes that contain anti inflammatory ingredients like the turmeric cauliflower- hoping that helps to balance out the increased fatigued...cant really tell yet as my toddler has been waking me up multiple times a night so knackered regardless

Faster800 · 11/01/2021 23:40

Placemarking! Lost 2 stone in the summer in 12 weeks on this, then maintained for a while then Christmas buggered it up and put about 10lbs back on!

Had a false start last week so want to get back on it properly this week!

Polkadotties · 12/01/2021 10:51

I started last Tuesday at 14st10 and this morning I am 13st10. Very happy indeed!
