@CurseryKinkajoo that's brilliant progress, keep it up. My mother sent me a voucher for my birthday and I ordered a smart scales, measuring tape, ketone strips, a fast 800 journal and recipe book of amazon yesterday so can't weigh or take my measurements until they arrive, but hopefully I will be in ketosis by then.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 13/09/2020 11:03

Morning everyone. I've fallen off the wagon completely this week, been totally wiped out from being back in school.

By Friday I was in absolute agony, from all the crap food. I can't believe that was how I used to eat all the time.

I will weigh tomorrow and assess the damage, but I'm back on plan today. Made a batch cook Bolognese, and a veg soup for lunches at school. Meals are all planned for the week, and I'm going to do a body project video later too.

I'm slightly annoyed with myself, but also know this week won't make me put four stone back on either.

carbhunter · 13/09/2020 12:48

Welcome *MysweetAudrina'! Just wanted to say sympathy on the headache, I had a killer one from days 2-3 which I think must have been from the withdrawal of sugar? Chugged loads of water but it just went away by day 4, good luck!

AlgonquinBay · 13/09/2020 13:44

That's a great loss @CurseryKinkajoo keep it up Smile

nibdedibble · 13/09/2020 14:48

So after my plunge to 207lbs I went back up to 211 😬🤯 I expected something like that though as I ate a load of Bombay mix (stupid) and all that salt not to mention chickpea flour carbs will not have done me any good whatsoever. A short-lived victory!! Back on it big time today and decided to extend my TRE to 18:6 just because I can really, it’s not hard for me. Looking forward to some lovely lovely lamb and veg at 4pm.

nibdedibble · 13/09/2020 14:50

@CurseryKinkajoo I’m envious of your waist loss! I’ve lost 15lbs now and I can’t seem to get my waist any smaller!

CurseryKinkajoo · 13/09/2020 16:09

Thank you for the comments/encouragement. We’ve been to the beach today and I’ve had a bit of a blow out so not sure the news will be as good next Sunday BUT if this is to be a sustainable WOE for me then it’s got to allow for the odd down day.

@nibdedibble I have traditionally been an hourglass shape but with middle age I’ve developed a magnificent waist as well Sad. We did notice my saddlebag thugs have gone really squishy - the kids were mesmerised with poking them on the beach - so I’m hoping they’ll be reducing a bit next!!

ThePawtriarchy · 14/09/2020 02:51

@Cantteachsirry, just saw your reply! 5.5 loss this week (week 5) here too! Grin

ThePawtriarchy · 14/09/2020 02:51

Trying again - @Cantteach sorry, just saw your reply! 5.5 loss this week (week 5) here too! grin

PhoenixMama · 14/09/2020 07:50

Morning all! So many new faces I need to catch up on! I did this WOE last year and lost 50lbs but gave up (lost the will to live generally!) with lockdown & have gained about 10lbs back. But I'm back on it today & want to lose another 20lbs. I'm going to focus on the next 6 weeks specifically because the thought of forever didn't really work for me.

I'm also going to be looking at how to manage this WOE with celebrations & nights out as I have 4 dotted across the next 6 weeks and I learned last time if I can't occasionally enjoy myself without feeling guilty then it's not a woe I can keep up!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Jollyholibobs · 14/09/2020 07:50

Hi all I’m back from a week on holiday. Wore bikinis every day and felt good despite being a stone up on my happy beach weight. Planned to stick to low carb all week but the Greeks kept bringing deserts ‘on the house’. It would have been rude not to. Mostly my DH ate these and I had a tiny nibble. Still over all was quite careful. Still came back to weigh in 2.8lbs up on the week. Yesterday was tough to stay on plan. Went over calories but kept carbs low. 1100 cals. Today weighed in same as yesterday. So as I still have 14lbs to shift back on fast800.

I’ve read back the week of the thread there continue to be some great losses. And some positive approaches to falling off the wagon which helps to keep me positive.
Day 27 8lbs lost. Includes a week on holiday gaining!

Purpleraindeer · 14/09/2020 08:35

Lots of great losses on here and lots of people getting back on the wagon. I agree with whoever said it - for this to be sustainable, we have to be able to have some off days/weeks.

Hope your headache is easing Audrina. I felt pretty weird (light headed and tired) for a lot of my first week and was advised to have more salt and that did help me.

So after a weekend of low carb (mostly), tre but no cal counting I’m up 0.7kg which isn’t too bad. I noticed 2 things - I had a bit of dessert on sat and it tasted horrible - sweet but no flavour. But I still wanted to eat it - I guess it was that addictive sugar/fat combo kicking in. I also had a normal portion of food on sun pm and felt so full. So, I guess some more permanent changes have happened to my appetite which must be good. Smile

nibdedibble · 14/09/2020 09:26

@PhoenixMama 50lbs is amazing - I want to lose roughly that much more. (As an aside, I remember in my 30s being really worried about needing to lose 20lbs or so...I’d be well on my way to that goal if I’d got on top of it then and not freaked out slightly and put on another, oh god, 40lbs).

Today’s my WW weigh in day and I’m 3.3lbs down on last week with another 2 lost that went back on so I know good things are coming! I’d be happier with a rate of 4lbs per week but to be fair I had a cold and didn’t do much exercise last week so it’s better than I could have hoped for.

Decided to plan some super protein-rich meals as MFP suggests I’m not eating quite enough. I usually have 2 eggs a day and beans twice a week. Some meat every day. You can see why people end up snacking on chicken breasts but I can’t afford that (who can these days?) - any good protein-rich snacks people are enjoying?

nibdedibble · 14/09/2020 09:36

@MysweetAudrina I had headaches too, then about four days of gastric pain. Not serious but uncomfortable. I’d totally given up sugar and i like to think it was my body clearing out dead gut bacteria that thrive on sugar - realistically I don’t know, could have been something I ate I guess! There’s so much speculation, isn’t there, about diet and losing weight.

AlgonquinBay · 14/09/2020 09:37

Agree with you @PhoenixMama - the thought of forever terrifies me aswell! But it's slowly dawning on me that I can't eat how I used to and still be slim, so it's one or the other Sad

Have been logging my food on the Nutracheck app and I also need to increase my protein intake so that is my mini-goal for this week. Scales seem to have plateaued somewhat but I'll keep on keeping on!

Am also starting a new workout plan via the Sweat app, as it seems to get really good results. Have a 7-day free trial so will see how it goes. I am quite committed to exercise and have a workout most days but there's no real structure to it, and I'm hoping this will help me with that bit.

Happy Monday everybody SmileSmile

MysweetAudrina · 14/09/2020 13:07

I feel like shite today. Slept poorly last night and woke up with a headache this morning. I did an hour's yoga and have been wfh since. I caved and took 2 paracetamol. I started my af also which doesn't help. Broke fast at 12.30 with 2*bacon medallions, mushrooms, tomatoes and an egg so should be lots of salt in that. This is day 3 so hopefully will feel more energetic tomorrow.

Some great weight losses coming through well done everyone.

Jollyholibobs · 14/09/2020 15:09

@MysweetAudrina sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. I too felt pretty awful in the first week. Then I started to feel so good. Just keep on and you will get there.

nibdedibble · 14/09/2020 15:11

It does take between a few days and a couple of weeks for your body to get accustomed to you putting less food into it. Hope you feel better soon, Audrina.

nibdedibble · 14/09/2020 15:13

(The astonishing thing is, the body does adapt to a lower quantity of food. I know people always saying ‘ooh, portions are so huge nowadays’ but they really, really are! We can do the same on so much less!)

carbhunter · 14/09/2020 15:18

nibdedibble
In terms of protein snacks, have you tried nuts? They're usually very expensive, but i get mine from lidl/Aldi now in big bags of raw unsalted unroasted cashews, walnuts, pistachios. Its much cheaper and I don't need more than a few to take the edge off.
Anyone else got any other ideas?
Sometimes I have a little dark choc in the afternoon to get me through til dinner, I'm still losing and in ketosis but it's not protein rich I suppose.

ThePawtriarchy · 14/09/2020 15:43

@nibdedibble cottage cheese is good or sliced deli chicken vs chicken breast?

nibdedibble · 14/09/2020 16:44

Thanks! I managed to get a load of smoked mackerel fillets going cheap today, plus M&S had cooked chicken in their 3 for £7 offer so I snagged some.
I do often have a piece of cheese but I’m aware how calorific it is, still trying to keep to 900 or under (800 fine but 900 much easier somehow!).

I had some 90% choc last week...delicious but finished! Normally I’d be replacing that straight away...

nibdedibble · 14/09/2020 16:46

Nuts I love but can easily overeat sadly! I try to limit my exposure to a bag of cashews (even the plain ones! But roasted and salted 🤤)

ThePawtriarchy · 14/09/2020 16:46

Oh, also, tuna!

Purpleraindeer · 14/09/2020 16:50

I’m sure I saw someone recommend baby bels?
You will feel better in a few days audrina. Hang in there. Poppy recommended some peanut butter to replace lost minerals - maybe try that
